  1. Misiorowski started well. No hits, 1 walk, but 2 WP that gave up a run. 6 K in 3.2 IP. Offense still sleeping. 9 hits, but only 2 runs and 12Ks. 2-2 in the 9th
  2. Fair enough. Maybe it was last years start to the season that I am comparing to. And the fact that he did have a slower end to last year. But for a guy who is likely only going to be 1B/DH in the future, his hitting will have to propel him up. Forgot about the nagging injury, so here's hoping he can turn it on this year. Chirinos has not been good. And also as far as 1B Ernesto looked like a legit prospect but appears to be scuffling as well.
  3. This has been a disappointing start for Adams. He always had a lot of swing and miss, and not a high BA guy, but would hope for power and OBP skills. So far very little. Hall is older and is hitting consistently although no HRs, which is so surprising given his size/frame.
  4. I think that given the timeframe and type of surgery, Ashby is likely to never pitch as he did before. The rates of pitchers undergoing labrum surgery with returns was small and he has done that. Those who return same or better than prior, may be a few cases overall. I guess, with him now see if he has anything he can do that works, and run with it. Maybe he can learn a pitch or two that he controls enough to be a reliever. I guess keep pitching him to see if that clicks. Maybe that's the plan. IDK?
  5. Can anyone give me a quick refresher on what the Development List is about/for?? Sorry, I remember reading about it, but I can't recall why some players are placed on this and what it means for them in the big picture.
  6. Memories yes, seems like only a few years ago. And teams in Beloit, and Helena. I’ve been watching minor league scoreboards since 1997 - Stockton ports, and the double Helena/Ogden years. I am so thankful I came back to find BF.com (wasn’t it BF.net back in the day). The in game threads are awesome and the write ups amazing. This is hopefully another golden time for the minors like 2002-2008, but with a good MLB club this time to root for as well. And winning minor league clubs with plenty of prospects to cheer on and follow, even with the litany of injuries. Exciting to see some break out stars this year. Thanks Mass, Damuelle, JosephZarr for getting these going. And all the various folks who also watch the games and chime in. So cool!!
  7. Given that these players being released are still very young or had some promising stats at some levels, and seeing how some players are given more time in the organization despite age/stats, there is more to developments and releases than just the stats or pure talent I assume. I won't even speculate, but it would be a great question if anyone had the opportunity to interview someone from Brewers Player Development. From lack of progression, to tools that the organization may not see as vital to the teams goals, to even the mundane as personal decisions they make or don't make.
  8. The recovery is likely for both. It’s the experience and development time lost. some prospects never achieve their potential after lost developmental time. Hopefully quick recovery for both Pratt and Wilkes and on to more development and experience this season.
  9. Anyone have update on Matt Wood's defense at C. I know he was hitter, but has his D been solid??
  10. Could AAA be a obstacle in Rodriguez progression. Let's hope it is more a learning curve and he can start to make adjustments, and not a sign of things to come. A lot of outside reports on him tend to see 4/5 SP upside, and not the mid-rotation starter we all dream on given the recent success of the organization. And Knoth/Wichrowski/Letson with good starts, how about that as a start to the careers of some of that 2023 draft pitching class.
  11. He was recovering from surgery when we drafted him, right? TJ surgery?
  12. The Brewers have a lot depth all over the infield now. 1B(Martinez, Adams, Chirinos, Hall), 2B (Arenaimo, ORae, Baez), 3B (Boeve, Guilarte), 1B/3B (Black, Wilken) and alittle bit at SS (Brown, Pratt, Barrios). Even still there is OF depth in the bigs/AAA, along with Lara and Yophery. And finally C is covered by Contreras right now, and praying for Quero to recover next year.
  13. Ooof. Don’t speak too soon. Carolina not looking great late 10-2 laugher is now 10-7 heading to 9th.
  14. @Joseph Zarr that was awesome. Thank you so much. I’m really excited about the lower levels again. Can’t wait to see who breaks out this year in Appleton and Zebulon.
  15. Any scouting info or videos of Ryan Birchard's debut
  16. Logan Henderson is on the IL, right? And will probably join Wisconsin once healthy I would presume.
  17. Wow. I sorely missed this. Activity at all levels of the minors, and so many players to watch. thank you JospehZarr and damuelle for the play by play summaries again. So looking forward to this minor league season!! Go baby brewers everywhere
  18. Does anyone know what the color codes are for those lineups? I thought maybe L/R, but there are 4 colors (black, red, blue and the 3/15 one had green)
  19. This comes down to assets. If the team wants to maximize the asset valuation, they keep haase and then see how the Haase/Sanchez back up roles shape up (Sanchez I can see being more of a DH/C and maybe 1B unless they keep Bauers). Bauers is the other consideration. If he makes the team, then I don't think Haase does. And vice versa since neither helps in OF or in the non-1B IF mix.
  20. Does Monasterio have options. I do feel that the team may rotate players around to get them all the ABs. Like if Ortiz is struggling but needs AB send him to AAA. Use Monasterio as a swing man for the IF. Or if Frelick really entrenches himself at 3B. If not, then they need to get creative with the OF.
  21. Yeah it’s the production vs potential debate in prospect analysis. If you love potential you rank Y. Rodriguez very high based upon his stats and pedigree (highly touted IFA) and just like Gilbert Lara and Larry Ernesto that is very fair to do. If you like production more then you rank guys like Clarke among others higher because of what they have done against higher level pitching. It is easiest for guys like Chourio, Black and Quero when you have both. After that it’s your own scale. Thats what makes this so cool - we see everyone else’s barometer for prospects.
  22. I was confused by that too. I believe the draft will stay in July. As far as the title, I'm guessing it's like the "January discussion of 2025 draft" but I may be wrong

  24. Isn't it a 1-year deal? If I read that wrong, then ignore the rest. But if it's a one year roster spot for this player, and the deal is spared over two, then I'm even less enthused - as it is still a $7M commitment for one year of service, or did I miss something? In that event, the yes 2.5% of payroll this year is great, but 2.5% of next year payroll for someone not on the team isn't great. I mean, I am just thinking in house options or NRI options could be close in value to the team and financially better since he is not a significant upgrade, and I'd rather they add an extra $7M (or more) to the payroll next year (or the following year) to add a key piece, not just a guy who can fill innings.
  25. How is $7M either low risk or a good value when that is about 5% (3-6%) of team payroll for a swing starter or reliever. An improvement over Colin Rea, yes. Not much above in house options. I’d rather they use cash for a 1-2 year option like Hoskins who may significantly improve the rotation. Now I’m not sure who is out there, but no loving $7M for a team that sees $8-10 million as a major obstacle, and anything above $10M as a luxury. I am hopeful I’m wrong. Just don’t see the money adding up to the value of the player.
