    Yeah. He has really slumped since the ASG break. Not hitting, Ks, and the few hits were not many XBH. Huge opportunity for him to make a name as a 1B, but he doesn’t move up the rung, in fact falls with Fischer in the fold now.

    I will,take my 3 innings that I watched Torres, and 4 of Rodriguez’s work along with Tobias work and call that a night. Who needs hits?? 😬

    Manuel Rodriguez with a very solid 6 IP of work. Broca is in. Tobias strands two runners in the inning - nice comeback Griffin. But this may have been his last inning. I'm out for a little bit and will check in later. But Torres, Tobias and Rodriugez pitching was the therapy I needed today from the deadline madness, and the Tate Kuehner struggles.

    Yeah. We are a long way from March when there was "would another 20 year old rookie make the big club" chatter with Cooper. His AA season has still be very underwhelming. Defense is good, but can be inconsistent. He can make contact, but rarely hits it hard. He doesn't look the same as the confident swagger rising prospect from last year. I didn't watch when Turang was in the minors, so can't say, but he also has been the under the radar prospect since his draft year when he fell because he was a high prospect for too long or something strange like that.

    Big out there, Lameda atones for misplaying the first fly out a little and makes a great catch in left. One out after Tobias gives up a bloop single and a walk. Then full count, and the hard liner to left caught. Tobias has to buckle down and get two more outs in this inning. Then the offense needs to get going ASAP

    Luis Castillo with nice defensive in RF stealing a XBH away from the Lake County hitter. Trying to help get Rodriguez through 6 innings.

    Was hoping that the 4 walk night Tuesday was the beginning of that turnaround by Blake Burke. But I'm still waiting, and despite a walk tonight, he had a simple grounder to 2B and a fly out, at least no strike out tonight. I really was expecting more from Blake this season particularly with a bunch of guys injured (Adams, Wilken, Boeve), he had a chance to make a move, but is more at risk of being replaced by Fischer.

    Manuel Rodriguez is at 64 pitches through 5 IP, and really only given up the HR, giving up a total of 2hits, with no walks and 3K. His fastball is only 88-89, but he just has command and confidence. If he could every get his fastball to the 91-93mph range he would be a serious starting pitcher prospect. Griffin Tobias looked decent - my second time watching him. Nothing flashy or overpowering, he is just around the zone and his offspeed stuff does move. Will need to dig into his profile and stuff again later.

    Torres strike the batter out on three breaking balls (all sliders?). OK his offspeed stuff can move as the second one was nice had the batter completely fooled despite seeing offspeed on the first pitch. He is through 5 IP, let's see if he comes out for inning 6, or if it Griffin Tobias for the last 4 innings. Offense will need to get something going. A hit with a runner in scoring position is a good way to get a run across, right?

    And Wande rewards me complimenting him by hitting a pitcher. Torres says "you think my command issues are improving, I'll show you command issues..."

    Runners at the corners at the Mudcats have been 0-8 with RISP. Stay 0-8 as Anderson runs and is somehow called out, seems like his hand was there before the tag, but the camera angle is no good, so it's 50/50. Either was out #3 and Mudcats fail to get a run home again.

    First time watching Wande Torres in a while. Still with command issues, but he seems to be a little more consistent a least the last several batters I watched. Still too many non-competitive just missed the target pitches, but his velo is good (95 mph on his 50th pitch), and he has movement but not a lot of movement so his stuff feels flat, but a lot to work with. From April/May (when I last watched his start) to now I see some growth which is encouraging.

    And Peek walks the next batter. Yikes. Gotta get pound the zone. I mean you're down 8-0, just throw strikes and make them earn the hits.

    Kuehner gets a K, but then he just misses the zone with the next batter and walks the next batter. Now 7-0 Kuehner out, and Peek will come in. Tough night, the Shuckers defense tonight was not sharp and Kuehner paid the price.

    And Mudcats get the bases loaded and Adamczewski up, forces a pitching change and he flies out. Torres then gives up single, grounder, single and it's 1-0 GreenJackets. Dang it. No runs score and now give up one. C'mon Muddies

    Man Kuehner's next inning is still a struggle. Walk, walk single. Yikes.

    Not Tate's night. HR allowed then what walk, HBP and an awful awful misplay by E. Martinez at first, allowing 2 more runs and the hits keep coming - a "Single" off the ankle of Pratt. Should have been out #4 and he misplays it, and the ball clanks off his leg. Inning is going south quickly. Yikes a passed ball. It's 6-0, on a six run 2nd inning. Oh boy. After the deadline stuff today, expecting a good game by the Shuckers and Kuehner was going to be my therapy?? Now I need therapy for my therapy. Let's TRats, Muddies, and Shuckers please. EDIT: Removed Sounds who will not play as game postponed.

    Sure, I mean that is the net, but still misses that this is Quintana & Cortes for Miller. Cortes is not a scrub and not done for the year, so let's not forget that he SHOULD have value. Montgomery was done for the year and we just took on his salary to get Miller. We didn't offload Cortes in a pure salary dump since he was going to pitch in the MLB this season. So we either should have gotten more value from Cortes, and not had to add in a prospect to move him. Maybe there is more, and yes Quintana may not be a major prospect ever, but I think I just overvalued Cortes trade value I guess?

    I am with you Joseph, but just because someone may have a lot of money, doesn't mean they should buy $5 value with a $10 bill. Jorge Quintana should carry top-30 prospect talent in most systems, and using him to move Cortes is dumbfounding since Cortes is a MLB caliber pitcher. We should be taking on assets, not losing them, let along one who is top 50 in our system (and top 30 is many systems)

    Thanks. Yeah, I'm one of those "hold on to every prospect we have forever" types. But it the use of those prospects as assets. I still don't see how we had to pay salary and give up a prospect to trade Cortes who is a MLB quality pitcher, and the going price for pitchers is high. I get the moving salary and 40-man player out in Cortes, but the return should have higher, or the add on prices from our organization should have been lower. I'm still so confused (and slightly annoyed) at this trade.

    Did we truly trade Jorge Quintana. Again it's likely he will never be any impact at the MLB level, it is just the wasted asset. He is so young, high pedigree player, and being used to help offload a quality MLB pitcher??? Even with the Miller trade, still completely perplexed by the asset management. Quintana could and should have been a bigger chip is a deal to add a player, not one to make one go away.

    I will take solace in the fact that I can watch MiLB tonight. And knowing that the same group of young prospects I saw last night will still be on the teams tonight will help me get through all this mess....
