  1. Ok. Nestor dealing tonight. He is through 5 innings and up to 72 pitches. 2 hits, 1 walk and 7 K, including the last 2 outs via the K. Not sure how long his rehab outing will go. He may be done, or maybe they push him to 80-90 pitches - I can’t remember what the plan was.
  2. 7 straight wins for the Mudcats. And solid 4 innings of relief by Mercado- color me impressed with him.
  3. Anderson with what could be the game saving catch. Hard hit ball to deep center and Jose tracks it down. Two down and Mercado looking to close out the game.
  4. Runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs. And the Mudcats channel their inner T-Rats (or is it T-Rays) and K, K, grounder 3 unassisted. And it’s still only 2-0 going to top of 9th. Bitonti has so much power but he just misses too many pitches.
  5. Adamczewski has a nice swing. I think I read that here once before 😉 ‘But man Made just and easy swing but it’s 102 EV and off the wall for a double. He looks much better recently. Muddies looking to get some insurance runs in the 8th. T-Rats trying to tie it up after Areinamo doubles, steals and scores on an error Hedbert is hot and draws another walk. But Blake Burke is in a mini-slump right now. I think he has had 3 GIDP the past few nights. Ugh
  6. GIDP - a pitchers best friend. DiTuri fields it cleanly and it’s 5-4-3. Enderson Mercado now thru 3 IP, 35 pitches. He looks just comfortable and confident. Not overpowering at all and doesn’t have what looks like a lot of movement but a nice lefty delivery. I’m intrigued.
  7. Keep that ball. Mercado’s first full season affiliated ball strike out. He works quick. And looks comfortable with a nice easy delivery.
  8. Old friend Bryse Wilson pitching for Charlotte against rehabbing Cortes. So far not a lot going on in the 3rd inning. A lot of fireworks between the clubs in terms of offense the past couple of nights.
  9. Looks like a walk and double then a sac fly and Gasser on the hook for 2 runs. But he has a successful rehab inning. DeBerry comes on in relief and his season continues - he has stuff but just not translating to results. Disappointing season so far.
  10. Enderson Mercado debut in low A tonight. Very nice outing so far with 2 IP, allows 1 hit and has 1 walk (0 K), but is on,y at 22 pitches, with 15 strikes to 7 balls.
  11. Or they got the dollars that Nunnallee or Wech or Brummel turned down. I remember that Dubanewicz was on UF campus reportedly, and there was some speculation that Nunnalee could sign, but we got the opposite. I won't pretend to predict, but I am hopeful Coil and then 3-4 of the remaining HS players sign. Some could request 3rd round money (like Renz I think got last year) so we will see. Still a lot of bonus pool money to work with. Excited to see who joins.
  12. As noted the lack of defensive home is factor #1, but the back injury I know spooked me a little on him. But he is so solid all around, but doesn't have a loud tool (he is not raw power but will probably hit HRs, and is not fast but will probably steal some bags and be aggressive on the base paths). So it's several factors, but a good showing this second half and start to next year and he could find himself in the top5 maybe, and top 10 easily (which is still hard to crack).
  13. I can’t stay up on the Nashville game. Good night gents. Great win by the Muddies (and the big club) earlier. And huge win for Timber Rattlers.
  14. And he does it. I mean this was the whole Yerlin spectrum tonight. Beautiful pitches, huge strike out, unnecessary walks and wild pitches. Lots of pitches and base runners. Just lots going on, but in the end he gives up only the unearned run in the 10th. Man if Yerlin could find more of “good” Yerlin and you have a lights out reliever. Upper 80s slider and upper 90s fastball. Man he can do it. Just gotta command it. Either way a win.
  15. And a call goes the T-Rats way … oh wow. That’s huge. A check swing and was called strike 3. Yerlin got lucky. Now get one more batter you win….
  16. Alastre. How can I put this nicely just dropped out #1. Two runners on But Yerlin gets the big K painting the corner for first out. Gotta get this guy out Yerlin…. Oh no 3-0 count. Wild Yerlin after a masterful at bat before. And it’s a 4 pitch walk bases loaded again. This feels like last night yikes
  17. Yerlin is indeed back out for the 10th. Ok here we go it’ll be interesting at least 😬 And first pitch wild pitch. Yikes… Good thing the ghost runner doesn’t matter just get the guys in the batters box out….
  18. Ugh. Don’t look at the Nashville game, just focus on the TRats, or even the TRays 😉
  19. Nicasia!!! Pinch hit double scores 2 runs. Heck yeah!
  20. Dang. Garcia just got under it too much. Deep fly out. Areinamo gets to 3rd. Let’s get a couple hits here.
  21. River Bandits walk the red hot Herbert to start the inning. Unusual. And the ice cold Eduardo Garcia up. Guilarte pinch runs for Hedbert - let’s hope we don’t go to a 11th/12th inning where we miss Herbert’s bat. Garcia looks at a strike - wow TRats not getting those calls. Yeesh.
  22. And a Nashville run - Daz walks. A wild pitch and Dunn single. 8-8 going to extras in Nashville as well. Bonus baseball x 2
  23. This inning has displayed everything good and bad by Yerlin. Lead off 4 pitch walk. A wild pitch. (catchers interference and an intentional walk) But he throws a few gorgeous sliders. And gets a bases loaded strike out. A wild pitch bounces right back to Nava. So runners stay, ‘Then a liner right at, I mean right at Baez. Out #3. No walk off this inning. so much happening.
  24. It’s Yerlin time - let’s see which version we get…
  25. I would love to see Hudson get some consistency- he was such a key cog in the ‘pen last year (well most of last year). Getting him consistent and confident could be better than any trade deadline acquisition. i mean a man can dream right ?
