  1. Carolina not much since the Bitonti blast. Pena with 2 walks so that is encouraging. But Bitontin, man he just can't make enough contact, very long swing and will miss a lot of pitches, a 3TO player as it seems K, HR, or BB and when he makes contact it is hard, but just enough of that contact for a guy in his second trip through low A. There is time and he is oozing with potential, but he is really frustrating to watch. As is Anderson who seems like one step forward and one or two steps back, as @Joseph Zarr was praising his at bat the other night, since then 0-11 with 6K and 2 BB.
  2. Pratt singles, and eventually scores on the sac fly to extend the lead, it's 4-0 Shuckers and Bowman in to hopefully close it out. What a season so far for this club.
  3. Wow, some high wire act by Fitpatrick, as he gives up a 1 out single, then a walk and another single to load the bases in Columbus. Ethan Workinger up, and he has terrorized the Shuckers. Mound visit, and he strikes him out swinging on 3 pitches, then the equally dangerous Drew Compton strikes out on 4 pitches. Heckuva comeback there Fitz. He keeps the Clingstones off the board. Heading to the 9th. Shuck yeah let's go!
  4. DeCarlo's debut goes better than his ACL debut. Gives up a hit and a walk but gets 2 K, the first swinging, the last one looking to end the inning. Still 3-0 Muddies courtesy of that Bitonti Bomb that @Ro Mueller highlighted.
  5. Some updates. Tyson Hardin had another nice start. Through 3 AA starts so far: 17 IP, 12 H, 2BB!, and 16K. Biloxi up 3-0 with a 3 run 5th driven by a Restituyo HR, couple of singles, and a couple of walks. Middendorf with a clean inning, yay! Then Manfredi. Now Fitzpatrick on. Meanwhile in Wisconsin, Blake Burke! Deep to center no doubt HR. 2 runs and T-Rats back in it, down 3-2. Just wow. Crushed it. That is the power stroke that he was drafted for. More of that please. Carolina is up 3-0 and Meccage with 3 solid innings and indy signign DeCarlo with his low A debut and gives up a single and walk on his first 3 batters so far.
  6. Comes back from being with a friend and checks minor league forums and …. No posts in 4 hours 😳 Well they weren’t no hit but Nashville got pummeled again, shut out 8-0 Myers looked like an ok start, nothing great (6 IP, 9 H, 3Er, 3BB, 6K, 90 pitches). Quero and Dunn had two hits, accounting for 4 of the 6 total yikes. Shuckers with a nice shutout victory as they keep marching along. Kuehner 5.1 shutout innings with 9 K!! Bryant and Yeager keep the shutout intact and cover the other 3.2 innings. And offensively, Lara and Wood with multi-hit games and Spain the big HR. Pratt 1-5 but 0 K. TRats make a furious comeback -ok well that’s an exaggeration- they come back from 4-1 down to score 2 in the 7th and 1 in the 8th, but give up 2 runs in the 10th and lose 6-4. DeBerry was just ok by stats. No one really had any remarkable night offensively, and Woessner with the loss. Mudacts win big. 11-3.Dubanewicz (5IP) and Dorchies (4 hitless shoutout innings) combine again to cover the game. Dorchies with a nice start to his low A career. Dubanewicz done in apparently by defense with two unearned runs. Gave up 7 hits and 0 BB. Offensively it was a true team effort, as every starter reached base (Ordonez hitless with 2BB, Rodriguez hitless with a BB and a SF). The team drew 10 walks and had 9 hits. OK on to Sunday where Hardin, Meccage and Flores pitch for the 2nd time this week. Nashville is 2-3 this week, Biloxi 3-2, Wisconsin 2-3, and Carolina 4-1.
  7. Dubanewicz in some trouble but gets out of the from some defensive help it seems (grounder force out at home and a caught stealing), but a DiTuri error got runners on before a 2 run triple triple tied it up. Lara is 3-4 had singles home another run as Shuckers extended the lead to 4-0.
  8. The non-Quero Sounds are still being no hit. Quero2-2 so far. Nashville trails 3-0 now. Bitonti still just struggling- I mean yes when he runs into a pitch he will hit a homer - but his recognition is not consistent, and he will chase bad pitches, but also miss hitable pitches. He has a long way to go - but has the best power potential. He K’d to end the inning.
  9. Peña with a 2 out, 2 run triple. Muddies take the lead 2-0
  10. Second batter of the night, Quero, doubles. No no-hitter tonight.
  11. Of all the names here, most are "sell low" currently, which is not the best way to manage assets. Now some may need a change of scenario type of move (Black, Rodriguez) as they are lower prospect value now then they had any time point, but are also blocked (Black hasn't hit his way onto the scene, is limited to LF and maybe 1B and there are a plethora of people who can handle those positions as that is where the least defensively able usually go), and Rodriguez has multiple starters in front and behind him, and his versatility and young age may attract someone. Sell high guys are tough, since you hope they are not at the peak and want to keep, but also most prospects don't succeed. So Wilken (obviously the injury will hamper any trade talk) and Crow (minor injury right now I hope) are the types you want to keep as guys with 30 HR minor league power are valuable, and Crow has a plus pitch and is heading to AAA. But those are the best "chips" amongst this group. And I would trade only for a great package (ie another younger controllable MLB ready player) Burke is healthy, is in a stacked field (lots of possible 1B/DH types) who has hit but not shown the power. Was a 1st rounder, so could be a very tradable asset, much like Matt LaPorta (Burke is a better overall hitter from a contact approach and a better fielder), but he could be moved in a big trade. But also could be the future Brewer 1st baseman for the next 6-8 years. Quintana is too young and raw, but is turning things around. He would be like a Jhonny Severino trade asset, may not get you a lot (2 months of Carlos Santana) and occasionally these turn into Freddy Peralta all star lottery tickets but most don't. I doubt he gets moved unless another team (one who may have been scouting him as a IFA) really wants him as the return on a trade.
  12. Loads the bases with a HBP. Umps eject Guilarte for saying something after the mound visit. Then strike 1, and then the game ending GIDP with the newly inserted Alastre to Areinamo to Burke and that’s game. Yerlin effectively wild.
  13. Yerlin. He has such raw talent and can dazzle. But when he knows where it’s going. So many pitches can be just lost - wild pitch, or way away from the talent. But when he can find the zone he has mid to high 90s velocity and a solid breaking pitch. He can be a solid reliever, but his command. And Guilarte ejected in the 9th for no known reason???
  14. Over- officially no hit. Yikes. But 3 runs scored. Baseball. T-Rats got some more hits but no more after Perez Grand Slam. 7-1 heading to top of 9th.
  15. Soooo. Still a no hitter but Sounds won’t be shut out. Wow. HBP and walks and fielders choice and error. And Sounds have 3 runs on you guessed it no hits!
  16. Man it’s Hedbert’s world today and we are just living in it Grand Slam breaks it wide open 7-1
  17. After a triple by Nicasia, Hedbert gets a hit through the drawn in infield. Areinamo walks, and Dinges goes down 0-2 and gets a flair to shallow left and it's 3-1, Areinamo thrown out trying to go to third, but nice hustle by Hedbert to score. Let's go T-Rats!
  18. Not entirely. The 2024 class was special, and the two teams hit well (both team OPS >.750 I think, or at least both in the .700s). Most years there is one team that hits well and another not so well, but they have had down years and still produce prospects. Other years had some players rise up, yet not all had great first year stats (Chourio's initial start to his DSL season was poor at first). Two years ago there was Yophery, and he was special in DSL and the A league. So there may be a top signing player or an under the radar guy who may emerge, or maybe two. Having 2-4 players who would make the DSL to Low A jump is pretty rare I would think. So not too concerned about the 2025 class, but some of the 2024 signing holdovers playing in DSL in 2025 are a bit concerning (LaFond, Martinez among others) in their offensive regression, which just speak to how good Pena, Made, Anderson etc were. Pitching is also very hard to gauge from the DSL stats in my opinion.
  19. Shuckers win again. Not a lot of runs, but did get some hits. And pitching looked great based on stats. Wichrowski went effective and efficient 6 IP with 2H, 1BB, 6K and 0 runs on 72 pitches. Then Fitzpatrick, Peek and Bowman look good getting the last 9 out. Only a walk by Peek, but they all looked good. Biloxi continues to do well despite massive injury hits the past 2 weeks. Nashville gettin no-hit. No.
  20. Could be the academy is better for the integration part, but there is also a possibility that it relates to the limit on the number of players in the organization -- and those in the US count, correct? (as opposed to those in the DSL who don't count toward that cap/limit) Is there anyone here in the know, or willing to take a stab at where the Brewers are with the number of players in the organization vs the limit?
  21. Breaking ball - very good pitch right into the zone and it’s called strike 3. Herbert down looking, game over. Had tying run in scoring position couldn’t ask for more. Burke productive out, but Baez and Perez out with Ks. So close. Ok. ACL game moving along still 7-5. I will read about it in the morning.
  22. Baez swings right through a 95 mph heater at the top of the zone. Herbert is our last hope. Down 0-2 count.
  23. Burke taps it just in front of home and it’s a 1-3 put out. Runners advance. Baez up. Burke was totally fooled on tow off speed and then held off on the third consecutive off speed pitch. Gets contact to avoid the K. And advances the runners. Baez - he can be hero, but can be goat as he can be pretty wild.
  24. Areinamo flares one to short right. Ok First runner on Alright! Dinges shoots one up the middle. Two on. Almost doubling the offensive output in two batters here. Burke up - let’s go Blake!
