  1. And a fly ball from Miller scores Lara. 2-0 Shuckers. While the TRats give up a run and down 3-2, oh nuts again.
  2. And big Eric B with a double to score another couple of runs, and Muddies up 4-1 But Welch surrends a homer and the Lugnuts tie the TRats - nuts. Wilken with another walk and 2 men on, starting something against uber prospect Noah Schultz.
  3. Looks like the Muddies score - a walk then a single by Made where there was play at the plate to get Rodriguez, and Made takes 3rd base. Then an error score Made. 2-1 Muddies
  4. I think Coleman Crow got away with a ball 4 that was not called, not sure if the ump was off, or the scoreboard/announcer and batter were off. But next pitch it is a fly out for out #2. Crow through 2 innings, only 26 pitches. Fastball is 92-93 and he has a good breaking pitch. He reminds me a bit of Logan Henderson but less upper zone heat and the offspeed looks like slider maybe as opposed to change, I think.
  5. No he isn’t. I was watching both games. Both games ended the same timeWarren ends Biloxi’s chance, Areinamo ended TRats night. Two grounders two game-enders.
  6. Tyler Jay retired the side in Charlotte to preserve a 5-4 Sounds lead. A 2-2 night in the farm, with the chances for so much more. Shucker 3-game winning streak ends as the quiet bats go even quieter, if that is even possible. And a very un-KC Hunt pitching line with 4 runs, and 2 walks, but did get 7 K. TRats give up a lead early, fight back and lose it in the 9th on some fluke plays (wind aided triple then a balk), and strand the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. But on the positive side: Sounds hold off for the win, with an interesting outing as far as the stat line for Carlos Rodriguez, and some nice innings of relief by McGee and Jay No surprise as the Muddies win the big game of the day, and Blayberg Diaz with the 4-4 night, and the pitching looked solid from Meccage to Reyes to Gillis.
  7. Welp no magic tonight As Warren grounds into a 6-4-3 DP to end the night in Birmingham, after Burke walks to load the bases, Areinamo grounds to third base for a FC and out #3. Oh my at the same time excitement turns to double disappointment. Bummer.
  8. Hall looks at a nice pitch, and runs the count full. Then swings at a pretty good pitch, and he strikes out. Last chance is Blake Burke. Let's see if he can make some magic. C'mon Blake! Areinamo on deck IF you can get on somehow. Let's go!
  9. It is getting intersting in Wisconsin. Yhoswar grounds to short and the SS charges and tries to rush the throw and field it cleanly, and runners at 1st and 2nd with only one out. A chance for a walk off win here. Meanwhile a caught stealing on a late steal attempt and Rodriguez to Pratt ends the inning.
  10. Costello in for Biloxi and all his pitches move. He gets the first guy K. Then a bouncer back to Costello and his throw to first moves too much and pulls Warren off the bag. Meanwhile Vargas draws a walk, So tying run on in Wisconsin.
  11. And Guilarte pops out, and what should have been a foul but that wind keeps it in play and the 1B catches it, one down for TRats. And Vargas up - needing to redeem himself. Lets go Jheremy!
  12. Well after giving up the lead, and fly out to left that falls between Garcia and Vargas, and then an out. But Figueroa walks the next batter, and former 2024 1st rounder Tommy White up. And a line drive right to SS E. Garcia right place and right time. Only a 1 run deficit. Down 4-3 going to bottom 9.
  13. That wind to left field giveth and taketh away. Inning after Jadher launches a homer into that wind, Garcia just could not launch it enough. The Lugnut hitter gets to left and Vargas can't get to it and it's a triple. Dang, then a BALK! The lead is back to the Lugnuts. Yup - ready for it .... Lansing gets the lead back, oh nuts! EDIT- dang it - I can't get the LF right. First I thought it was Hedbert, then said Garcia, but it was Vargas. Ugh I'm fielding as well as the TRats OF right now. 😩
  14. And Garcia gets away with strike 3 call that is called a ball, with new life he launches it to left, but just gets under it too much and a deep fly out. With Wood on base, Hedbert GIDP to end the inning and rally. Dang, what a chance at a big inning. But Jadher gets the TRats new life.
  15. And Areinamo homers to tie it up for TRats - alright Jadher! EDIT: Watched it. He just smoked a mistake. Pitch was belt high and a no doubter, 105 EV off the bat. Two pitches earlier he had a pop up to the left foul line that just went into the seats, and he had new life. Then a ball low by Breault (pronounced "Bro" and the announcer is having fun with that), and the pitch after that just smoked. Huge hit. Tie game 3-3
  16. I give credit to Wilken and his approach, and he rewards me with a bad K looking last night, and a 0-3 evening with 2 more Ks. OK Brock, you are relegating back to the 'no prospect' list again for me. Apparently that's true for most of the Shuckers - looking at you Luke Adams, and well Lara has 2 hits tonight per the box score. And EBJ - you lost prospect status .... well about the time you joined Biloxi. Biloxi - its the black hole where prospect status gets sucked in and lost forever, unless you have the shear force of a Chourio to escape it's gravity. And what is going on with KC Hunt - I will watch his performance tomorrow probably, but he has not looked like the pitcher we saw last year in terms of outcomes/performance so far this year. Maybe too much expectations. Sigh
  17. After retiring 10 straight, Meccage hangs a breaking pitch that was hit deep to left center and Payne cannnot catch up to it - it was very well hit. Runner on 2nd, and they take Meccage out as he is approaching 60 pitches (55 pitches). Still nice to get to the 4th inning, ties his career high (3.2 IP)
  18. Who had DiTuri out-OPSing and out-slugging Bitonti after the first 2 weeks of the season, and with more HRs too? And Bitonti ain't hitting too bad (way way too many Ks this season so far) but still hitting well and he had a double in the 1st inning.
  19. Dinges is definitely athletic and looks good behind the plate, and I only caught a few times where he had to throw (attempted pickoffs, and the opening night caught stealing), but the arm looks good. His glove work and blocking is lagging, but not surprising since he was not catching as much. I think with time he can definitely develop, and his bat is potential plus.
  20. There is truth and humor in that statement. From a ceiling, athleticism and raw tools standpoint, yes. Enough mixture of raw stuff and productivity at a young age to be optimistic. I suspect a few of these young kids will make it, and while I want all of them to, realistically 2-3 max.
  21. So this does bring up a question I have wondered - projection and velo gains. A guy like Rodriguez who can pitch so well, probably doesn't need the 95 mph to be successful, but I can't imagine he gets past AA/AAA jump without some velo in the 91-92 range. How likely is someone who is still a teenager to get that type of a bump? I know going from 88-89 to 95-96 is highly unlikely, but is 88-89 to a 91-92 jump possible? Common? we hear of guys who have these types of things happen in college, and not sure if is purely from growth spurts, and I don't know that there is much more growth on this kid as he is not a skinny kid, but could add some muscle possibly.
  22. Some time last August he seemed to click and has continued this into this year. I hope this is not the super fast hot start (like last year in Carolina) and more of a sign of his progression. His struggle at high A last year was real until about late July through late August when he found his stride and seemed to approach each at bat with more purpose. He can swing, and should have the power as he teased in the 23-24 Australian Winter League. If those homers start to come he will put himself on the prospect sheet for sure. With regard to the pitching side - can you imagine a Manuel Rodriguez-Wande Torres piggyback start some day in the future? Talk about contrasting styles. Both very talented in different ways.
  23. What was said about that infield defense. Ball up the middle and a nice play that looked routine, but was not for Pratt. Ranges to second base and good throw to get the runner. Good defense tonight. Not a ton of offense, but walks and few timely hits and two big errors by the Barons. So its the Sebuckers tonight, right???
