  1. An error by Pratt to start the 9th. And Holub goes deep in the count to his next batters, but gets a fly out and a K. One out away. They are going to ride HOlub to save the bullpen for game 3. Let's get the out here. And it's a grounder to O'Rae SERIES TIED On to game 3. Let's go Shuckers!!
  2. He is wild right now. Oh boy... But a huge ground out. Nice hustle by O'Rae to get to the ball, and make the throw to get the uber speedy Simpson. Phew 😓
  3. Gotta get another reliever up and ready. R. Smith, Costello, Childers?
  4. C'mon Blake Walks the first batter. Then a flare single to CF. It's now 5-1. Hunt was not scoreless after all. Blake needs to get the last out and get out of this dang inning. Don't want to give any life to this Biscuits club.
  5. call strike 3 inner half fastball, and Taylor is out. And with that KC Hunt gets the 2nd out in the 8th!! 92 pitches. Bulldog. What a start. 7.2 scoreless innings, 0BB! Pena now goes to the bullpen - Blake Holub in.
  6. Biloxi 45-9 this season when they score 5 runs. Pitching has been good for them, the offense when it clicks can make it so they just don't lose. When the offense doesn't click (which is a lot of the season) they struggle. I like that they put up runs tonight. Let's go Shuckers
  7. pitch #81 (edited - sorry it was not #80) was hammered, but like most of the night, just did not get enough. And now 2 outs in the 7th. Hunt has not allowed hard contact, and just did, but the batter just missed it. I'll take it Two pitches later, it's 7 scoreless for "bulldog"
  8. Huge inning by the SHuckers offense. Got 3 runs across. That is hopefully what we need to force a game 3. Please let's keep the momentum going Biloxi.
  9. I think KC Hunt is close to becoming one of my favorite pitchers (Miz, Henderson, and Yoho likely make up a solid top 3), but Hunt has been a bulldog most of this season and along with Shane Smith and Manuel Rodriguez make up my next tier of pitching favorites. We have a nice pipeline of potential MLB pitchers. And I love how KC Hunt pitched in the playoff clinching game. I haven't had a chance to actually watch as much tonight, but what I did view has been classic 2024 KC Hunt
  10. This is a very interesting read from an outsider's perspective (Pittsburgh), and really brings home how lucky we are to have had Attanasio and the Stearns now Arnold GM guidance. In case you miss it, the Brewers play in a smaller market than Pittsburgh, not sure if the write mentions that 😉 https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/joe-starkey/2024/09/19/pirates-brewers-national-league-central-ben-cherington-derek-shelton/stories/202409170093 We are lucky fans to watch this team during a 18 year or so run of success with playoffs, division champs and some amazing all star / MVP (Braun, Fielder, Weeks leading to Yelich and Adames, then Burnes/Woodruff/Peralta, and now Contreras and Chourio). By the way the Brewers play in a smaller market than Pittsburgh 😅
  11. I like the first 4 innings that KC Hunt has provided. He has been a gamer so far this year, and this first half of this game needed that so far. He has definitely proven he is a prospect.
  12. Awesome job @Joseph Zarr Definitely a bummer for the TRats seasons, but what a team that was. My favorite overall team of the 2024 MILB season. Let's hope Biloxi can keep things going. I'll be around for a few more games this year, and then hopefully rejuvenated for another fantastic MILB run next year.
  13. Yeah. Sounded like a dud start. And a quiet finish. Not how any of us envisioned this game. But the TRats are such a good talented team, and hope that tomorrow they finish what they started. Amazing to think the core of this team was in the playoffs last year (Carolina's first playoff appearance in some time, right?) and now getting Wisconsin to the playoffs again, and this time to the finals. Adams, Areinamo, Lara, Estevez; and even T Hall, Chirinos, Perez, Vargas as well).
  14. Well getting after my youngest’s tennis match and then dinner. Oof. Good night to take a mulligan I guess. Crap. Let’s hope the TRats get that one post season loss out of the way tonight and get back to the winning formula tomorrow. And Biloxi - honestly I didn’t have high expectations, so I guess they met it so far tonight 😟 I will watch more of that game in a bit to see what kind of fight they have left.
  15. That was my initial thought. Or if cleared he could get reps without the caged helmet. So agree - not a lock, but of the higher end prospects, given that he had a disappointing season that started out with an injury (some missed time) I could see that being an option for him. Really I think this year rather than just a "finishing school in the AFL". the may use it as a make up for missed time, if healthy.
  16. Is Pratt a lock? Sometimes players who played the full season do get time off, but I know it also is a time for top prospects to go and play with other top prospects. I would imagine for the pitchers it comes down to health. For the lost seasons - Woodward, Birchard come to mind if healthy. But beyond that who knows? Other position players - Hedbert Perez who needs more playing time to figure out if he is a prospect or now, and I wonder if we send a catcher (Wood, Miller) to focus on the catching game.
  17. You know I would have - but compared the others (rapid ascension up multiple levels) it was hard to put him there yet. But next year.... Yes please next year 🤞 I hope he makes that conversation with a bunch of others like Letson, Woodward, Birchard and others who have the chance to move up quickly. And RE: Shane Smith. yeah I spaced on him too. He is so close to Hunt. It is amazing how good Hunt's peripherals are : a K:BB ratio of almost 6 for the season. And recency bias - his start last night has swayed me.
  18. And Hunt - errrr Yeager 😉 gets the GIDP And Mudcats exit the playoffs tonigh, but Biloxi enters it. And TRats extend it All way better than my NFL team (lowly Dolphins got nationally embarrassed 😞).
  19. Yeah and I missed the beginning of the inning. The TV feed had Hunts name and they look similarish enough I was fooled until they called Yeagers name and I was embarrassed I mixed that up.
  20. Hunt still in. Not sure why. You’ll meet him fresh next week. First runner gets on. And then EBJ who is so good defensively tries to make the catch in RF. Sparks does not call him off probably because how good EBJ normally is, but he flubs it. And Hunt to face the next batter and he walks him. Seems like they are saying ok how much of a bulldog are you and can you close the deal. But 98 pitches??/
  21. Ben Metzinger. Mostly on the development list, played at three levels. 21 plate appearances, 5 walk. 11 strike outs. 5 outs. 0 hits. That’s a very unique line for a season.. it is almost a walk or a K, and nothing else.
  22. Well they bring Hunt out for the 6th. Single (didn’t watch), then GIDP. Then 7 pitch walk. Then high fly ball that Warren almost muffs. At over 80,pitches and 6 strong innings. Hunt likely done. Shucker sup 8-0 and three outs from winning the second half title.
  23. Who had Ethan Murray with a 3 run HR to put the Shuckers up 8-0…. ? ‘was not on my bingo card that’s for sure. Wowza. MBraves have been struggling mightily and making Biloxi look like a competitive team - which they have not done in a month or two. Wonder if they pull Hunt after 5 masterful innings to keep him fresh?
  24. Yeah that ball was hit hard and not that deep. I heard the announcer say “they are sending Lara” and was surprised but when I saw that feed and how far he was from home. I was just thinking “ugh” but at least it tied and knew Luke Adams was on deck.
  25. And KC Hunt looks like he is pitching well. Real well. 5 IP. Only 1 hit and the Shuckers now lead 5-0. With Pensacola losing it’s a win and you’re in for Biloxi.
