  1. Holy wildness. H Perez gets on with a hit. Lara grounder but beats out the throw so only a FC at second. And it’s 6-5. PRATT! Huge hit but the throw gets Lara at home. Pratt at second. Tie game and Adams up
  2. Adams or Areinamo are likely hitters top two based upon stats and importance to the team. I agree outside the DSL, no one else comes close to production, outside of maybe Bitonti. Hunt, Henderson or Yoho top 3. Hunt is impressive rise but not as much pure stuff. Henderson with an equally impressive rise with struggles at AAA. Yoho is “just” a reliever, but man what incredible stuff and performances.
  3. Biloxi magic number is 2 (I think) with Pensacola loss. So if they can go 2-3, 2-4 (whatever number of games they play this week) then Biloxi will at minimum tie Pensacola, or lead if they play one less game. So get a couple of wins this week and Biloxi will make an appearance in the playoffs. What they do there is completely unknown as they have been wholly uninspiring for most of August and September, but there is talent there that just seems to have all struggled at the same time (bullpen aside). Promotions (to pitchers) and injuries (Scott and Boeve) have hampered them the past several weeks. Do teams ever "demote" players for playoffs? (ie CD Rodriguez, Zamora, Shane Smith who were prior Shuckers). I doubt it - but if the Sounds are out by this weekend there could be a player or two who may help the Shuckers out, but not sure it is worth the risk from a developmental standpoint if the player is not on board. Nashville's loss last night, puts their elimination number around 6-7, with 11 games left, they almost need to go undefeated, and hope Columbus goes 6-5 or worse, and still have Indy win less than 8. Theoretically possible, but so unlikely now.
  4. Yup. But it's 1-2-3 they go down. See you all tomorrow.
  5. Meanwhile - Pensacola is down 4-1. So that can help improve the Shuckers chances this week. Although not sure what that will mean given how full of malaise that team looks and feels right now. TRats big win. Muddies - learning experience right? But it will take an incredible effort tomorrow to force a game 3. We will see. Oh yeah, Zamora stuck out on a beautiful breaking ball to end the Sounds threat in the 8th. I may call it a night - after I see if the Muddies can find a pulse in the top of 9.
  6. Bryant Ks him. And TRats take game 1 Huge! Victor Estevez team is always ready. Muddies showed what they are - fast, young energetic, but sometimes undisciplined. The batter interference call exemplifies that
  7. Castillo looks at a 93 mph right down the middle. Leaves two runners on and Ks. Ugh FredNats still up Meanwhile Pratt with a great diving catch to save the run. 2outs and runner still on 3rd.
  8. Did he step on the plate. I didn't see but didn't look either He looked like he swung and leaned forward because of the swing. Sure he shouldn't have swung, and sure it may be technically correct. But what do you do. You swing and your body moves. And Payne was going to beat any throw. Why even call it since it was close - let the players decide. I can see if it was flagrant, or a big movement, but it appeared very nonchalant and normal for him. BUt anyways, the bullpen cost the game. Maybe the manager was not up to par. But a few calls were close and definitely questionable
  9. what the heck?? DiTuri strikes out and his momentum carries him like 6 inches into the plate, and they call intereference. Really? Really? At that time of the game? Particularly since the catcher had no chance. Really umps? You choose that time to call that? After your horrendous out call in the 2nd against Yhoswar Really?
  10. welp. FredNats get the lead. What a low, then a high and now a big time low. The bullpen has absolutely let them down. Poor execution? Poor managing? If the bats can't wake up, then it's tough tough sledding against one of the top SP prospects tomorrow. Oh boy. Bummer so far
  11. Yeah. I thought two on. But that runner jumping around at second caught his attention maybe two much on a few pitches- seemed to lose control the last two batters as a result. . but not a great relief appearance for him.
  12. And Austin walks the bases loaded. Looks uncomfortable out there now.
  13. Cornielle tries to complete 6. But a long at bat ends with a close pitch ball 4. His night may be done at almost 100 pitches
  14. Well he made a wide throw. Not sure of the runner was going to be safe, but I think the C should have played it. Either way 2 on. Ugh
  15. I did not see it. But apparently an error by Baez and the lead runner on. Corniel exits after an absolutely gutty performance after his first inning. EDIT - what you call gritty I call gutty 😂
  16. And a 10-pitch battle (I think) against nivens. And this Cornielle goes 5 IP as well. tRats up still 1-0.
  17. And grounder to SS. Corniel thru 5 IP with the lead. Wow. That’s a turnaround this game!
  18. How do spell Home Run? Areinamo!!! 1-0 TRats!
  19. The other Cornielle gets out of inning after the free pass. Stil zeros in the R column there.
  20. What an inning by D. Corniel- given a lead with a long half inning. Comes back and quickly mows them down, K, 3 unassisted, K. Will he go out for the 5th at 71 pitches?
  21. Meanwhile zeros still in Quad Cities. ‘And Nashville scores a run down 5-1.
  22. That’s a good inning. Baez up again against a new pitcher. Woo hoo hoo.
  23. Bases full of mud cats. Need to find your pitches here Mudcats. Clemmey a little less in control and pitch count rising. Let’s keep, the sustained pressure.
