Biloxi magic number is 2 (I think) with Pensacola loss.
So if they can go 2-3, 2-4 (whatever number of games they play this week) then Biloxi will at minimum tie Pensacola, or lead if they play one less game. So get a couple of wins this week and Biloxi will make an appearance in the playoffs. What they do there is completely unknown as they have been wholly uninspiring for most of August and September, but there is talent there that just seems to have all struggled at the same time (bullpen aside). Promotions (to pitchers) and injuries (Scott and Boeve) have hampered them the past several weeks. Do teams ever "demote" players for playoffs? (ie CD Rodriguez, Zamora, Shane Smith who were prior Shuckers). I doubt it - but if the Sounds are out by this weekend there could be a player or two who may help the Shuckers out, but not sure it is worth the risk from a developmental standpoint if the player is not on board.
Nashville's loss last night, puts their elimination number around 6-7, with 11 games left, they almost need to go undefeated, and hope Columbus goes 6-5 or worse, and still have Indy win less than 8. Theoretically possible, but so unlikely now.
