  1. That’s a good inning. Baez up again against a new pitcher. Woo hoo hoo.
  2. Bases full of mud cats. Need to find your pitches here Mudcats. Clemmey a little less in control and pitch count rising. Let’s keep, the sustained pressure.
  3. Hot dog. A Dingo scored our runner. Woo hoo. 3-1. Let’s keep chipping away.
  4. That hasn’t helped the big league Brewers in 2021 or 2023 (ok woodruff missed 2023 but still) ‘But the Muddies need to manufacture some offense - outs on the bases and strike outs are not good recipe ingredients. Needs some base runners if the umps allow it 😉
  5. What an odd weekend - Carolina and Wisconsin spent the week getting guys into the lineup and getting health and rest. Biloxi getting in it's own way of trying to make the playoffs from their second half record, and Pensacola and Mississippi have found their own funks too. You would think it would spur Biloxi on, but alas they keep doing what they have been doing all year - muddling along with a general non-existent offense (the month of July aside), and hoping the bullpen can keep it going. Nashville fell behind a red hot Columbus club and while technically still there not much going on. Looking for some late season magic in some of the prospects, and outside some nice noise from a few draft picks who debuted, and a couple of relievers in Nashville (Ashby, Yoho, Mis, and now S. Smith) really not a lot to write home about for the standard prospects. Lots to follow in the non-top-20ish prospect players (like Collins MLB debut; EMJ red hot August among others). Add to that the big club seems to be mailing it in until playoff time start I guess- ugh. It's been a relatively slower end to an otherwise absolutely fantastic season for the organization. Hoping next week (playoff games, and a "playoff" match up of MBraves- Shuckers) will shake these doldrums for me. But none of this deters @Joseph Zarr - who brings his A-game day in and day out (with a few Mondays off when the DSL/ACL boys are not in season 😉)
  6. Incredibly small sample size BUT in the half dozen at bats I’ve watched of his has not looked out of place. Didn’t seem overwhelmed with pitches and seemed selective. Also his speed helped with with a few hits like his “double” last night. So for a kid this young an impressive first impression.
  7. MBraves lost both - game and make up game. So Shuckers magic # is 5. 9f they can eke out a win, then they can go 2-4 vs MBraves to win - assuming Pensacola doesn’t win all their remaining games.
  8. Caption this- “you got it, you got it, no I don’t got it, oh crap”
  9. Words cannot describe it I mean they can but it will hurt to write them Rocket City walks it off. An absolutely crushing loss. Just awful awful fielding/fundamentals
  10. Holub on to close out. But he walks the first man. Not good Then goes 2-0 on the next batter. Settle down Blake.
  11. ORae swipes third. But it’s all moot as Hall Ks. Some bad looking at bats there. But we will take the 2-run error and a 3-1 lead.
  12. Pinch running comes back to haunt. After Wilken with a pop out to foul territory- not a great swing but a very nice catch by the SS its Hall up now - instead of EMJ with ORae on second. Bummer
  13. Miller uncompetitive strike out And Wilken up. Let’s see which version of him we get here.
  14. After a walk to Martin. ORae sac bunt. But throwing error by the 3B and it’s two runs in and ORae at second Wow.
  15. I’ll keep tabs on the shuckers. See you after the book Joseph
  16. Wheels fall off in Cedar Rapids as Wisconsin fall behind 8-0 now Nashville up 6-2 Muddies win Shuckers 1-1 on to the bottom of 9.
  17. Mudcats like it on and look to close it out. 18-4 in the 9th Nashville still up looking to add more but up 5-2. Wiscondin down. Round struggling. Currently down 4-0
  18. Three straight walks. And it’s tied. Woo hoo
  19. Wilken Ks But EMJ gets on base So game is up to EBJ. Welp. That’s not who we want up
  20. And Biloxi giving the game away? Woessner in. Oh. Boy. Gives up a double and a WP. No out. Biloxi may very well end up losing another 1-0 game. Sheesh
  21. I forget how young the Mudcats are - Baez, Bitonti, DiTuri, Rodriguez all born in 2005 and Payne in 2006. These are all kids who would be starting classes as freshmen in college, and they are gettin regular at bats in low A ball. Then”older” guys are born in/around 2003 (Dinges, Bricneo, Walling, Castillo).
  22. Clarke with. Grand Slam to get Mashville up. And Seminaris is pitching into the 5th. That’s asking a lot. Hitters need to get going - can’t stomach another “1-0” game that’s been all too common for the Shuckers.
  23. Ugh. EBJ with a great hit, flies out deep to LF at the wall. Just missed a HR by about 10 feet. Just got under it too much.
  24. Shuckers are 33-28, M-Braves are 30-30 in the second half. By my count Shuckers magic # is 7. Shuckers have 2 more against the Trash Pandas, and MBraves play 3 (DH tonight) against Tennessee. Then a huge 6 game head-to-head of Biloxi and Mississippi next week. So a split 3-3 next week should be enough for Biloxi as long as they win a game this weekend or MBraves lose one. If Biloxi wins both and Braves lose one this weekend then even a 2-4 series will be enough. Huge games for the Shuckers. These are big asks at a very crucial time in the season. The Shuckers have been so uneven. They NEED some bats to come alive (thank you EMJ), but we need other like Wilken, EBJ, or any of the OF to get going, and hope for the usual great pitching (especially the bullpen). 2 affiliates are in the playoffs, and Nashville is still hanging around but realistically needs to win at a .750 clip the next couple of weeks and hope that Columbus plays closer to .500 or even lower. Uphill big time. The past two nights big losses to Gwinnett hurt the playoff chances, and allowed Gwinnett back into the essentially 4 team race in the International League.
  25. Shuckers down 3 in the ninth - can they ignite some 9th inning magic?
