    Holub works around a 2 out hit. And it’s still 4-2 Biloxi. Three more outs to go for a big win for the Shuckers. ‘Fingers crossed as I’m calling it a night.

    I only watched a few inning of Carlos. But it looked like typical for him. Lots of different pitches, and had decent command. Kept batters off balance. Granted with a huge lead that is exactly what you want to see with a lead.

    Carolina closes it. And Nashville pitching in the 9th with a commanding lead Biloxi up now 4-2. Shane Smith gives up a single then a wild pick off and the ball in RF bullpen, and runner advances to third. He starts a Houdini act with a fly out to RF and a pop up to 1st. But then gives up a hit up the middle. Another single and he walks Morgan to fill the bases. Smith night is over and Holub comes in. And I missed the video feed but looks like a grounder to third. End of inning. Still 4-2. Smith not as sharp as usual.

    Holy happenings. As Carolina makes them pay for the walks with a wild pitch, rbi ground out, and then an error by the 3B on the throw and it’s now 7-2 EMJ hit a homer and it’s 4-1 Biloxi. The Shuckers bats are starting to wake from the August slumber I see. And Nashville is in full cruise control mode - 12-2 bottom 8.

    And as I typed that. Hicklen goes yard to extend the lead. ‘Shane Smith comes in for relief of Kuener and goes 1-2-3 in the 5th. While Castillo walks to load the bases for the Lynchburg pitcher who was struggling with command.

    Rodriguez goes 7 innings. Just the first inning blemishes. 101 pitches. Nice outing for him. The process. Struggles but figures out how to get through it and pitched deep into the game. Otherwise tight ones in Lynchburg and Biloxi. But the good guys are ahead for now.

    Yeah Dorian and Miller were excuse me hits. Collins drove that into LF.

    And another hit scores Miller and Dorian comes around to score on a decent throw but the ball gets away from the catcher. Now 4-2 Sounds Alright. Let’s go. Gonna step out for a bit and will check in on the scoreboard later.

    Looks like CF Rod has settled in - and the Sounds score a run in a FC. Now it’s 2-1 Seppings with a 3 up 3 down inning - didn’t get to watch it. Mudcats still up 3-2

    “Loudest foul ball I’ve ever called” I believe was his line ugh. Then a grounder to third. No runs officially score - but it’s 5-2 in our hearts (and memories)

    Man that was an eventful half inning. First walk of Hardin’s career then SB allowed. The hits were hard, even the fly out. And he gives way to Seppings debut. That pick off was a wild play. Poor throw and the base runner hesitated around 2nd and gets thrown out. Phew. Then a walk. And finally a fly out. Still 3-2 Muddies.

    While we are at it- did I miss something- are officially back in June as of yesterday?😉 (Jim had the Tuesday link Thread as 6/20 and todays is listed as 6/21).😂

    Yup. Adams (8/18), Pratt (8/23) and even T Hall (8/24) have missed some games. Was Burke officially listed as IL? And did I miss anyone. Hope they are just recovering from minor issues.

    Sounds like it wasn’t Yoho’s night. But the bleeding began with McGee. Wilken was wiltin’ in August but hopefully a September swoon leaves us fallin’ for him as a prospect again. Cornielle and Corniel both with solid outings on the same night And you have to enjoy Yophery and Baez. Remember Baez despite an extra year in the organization is only 6 months older than Rodriguez. Sorry I missed the fun last night. Busy driving to the great state of Wisconsin to drop my kiddo off to college.

    I forgot about Wande Torres - isn't that another of @Joseph Zarr's guys. And so is Tyler Bryant too. That beard and glasses is very old school. And the other Tyler - Rodriguez. I think it will be interesting to see how his hit tool will be next year at Carolina - his fielding seems to be an issue based upon Error numbers, but without a video feed at the complex it was hard to know. Maybe a new Baez?

    I will go with a few names. Carolina - Reece Walling, 20 yo UDFA out of HS, has power potential, but still struggling to find consistency; any of the ACL pitchers who were promoted (Cortez, D. Sanchez, Flores and Reyes). M Rodriguez has been a favorite, but is on prospect lists. Wisconsin - Tayden Hall is a guy I like who is looking more comfortable at the plate, but zero power, which you can only dream could happen. And Hedbert Perez could come back to prospect status after a SSS stint this past month. And Cornielle has been one of my favorites despite a rough spot recently. Biloxi - The obvious names of Shane Smith and KC Hunt who are starting to garner attention on lists. Russell Smith and Nick Merkel have been heroic in the 'pen and are still RP prospects, and Yeager too. No hitters to speak of (outside the big names), but will concede EMJ is an interesting player, but likely to be gone next year as more 1B types (Boeve, Bitonti, Burke and T. Hall) Nashville - Collins and Hicklen; and pitching Chad Patrick.

    Having watched a lot of Ashby's performances (or in many cases watched a few batters before realizing I had to turn it off), he has gone from bad reruns to must see TV. His starts were making his career look like it was in jeopardy. Then he went to relief, and most of the summer it was like gimme a break, he just became the fall guy when the game was out of hand. I think late July is when he blossomed, but I didn't notice it at all. He had a couple of bad outings that were probably some growing pains. Then in the heat of the night in August, it was like what's happening, and the he rolled off some fantastic outings and it was like good times. With his recovery he has taken a quantum leap forward. Cheers.

    Capra launches it deep left, and off the wall, but wait, no it's a GRAND SLAM!!! It's now 9-0. Wowza. Sounds cruising. I think Patrick is done, and get some innings for some relievers and hopefully just the formality of getting nine more outs. Then it's Charlotte, Gwinnett, Memphis and Norfolk as their final four series. With 24 games to go it will need to be a very very strong finish to stay in the playoff discussion. With a juiced bullpen for now, and some hitters doing their thing, it's possible they can go 16-8, but that means Columbus has to come back down to earth as they are 33-17 in the second half.

    A couple of quicke outs. Then. OK - it's called a double to left. That's what is hard to know from Gameday. Picture this - a lazy fly to LF and Black looked like he had a hard time tracking it and comes on late and slides, ball in the glove and pops out. Yeah a "double". And now their young prospect De Los Santos, who gave a great at bat last time (8 pitches before a ground out). This could be Patrick's last batter if he gets a big hit. EDIT: Strike out #8. A great cutter that Delossantos just chases. Great start for Patrick. Herget was warming up, I guess Patrick is done now at 90 pitches.

    Patrick gives up a hard hit ball to right center. Just drilled and it's a lead off double. I step away and see that he got a ground out and another K. Then strikes out Hostetler looking with a high fastball. But he is at 82 pitches. Will he be asked to extend and go 6, or will they call on the bullpen for the final 4 innings?

    And Brewer Hicklen steals a base. Then two pitches later Francisco Mejia deep to RF. No doubter HR. 403 feet. Just crushed it. And it is now 5-0!

    Patrick strikes out the side. Nice job. He did allow a base runner via a HBP. But otherwise K, K, HBP, K. And it's still 3-0. 47 pitches for Mr. Patrick, so he could go a solids 5-6 innings at this pace.

    Yeager. Gets the first batter with a K. Then a grounder. Falls behind Smith-Nijba 3-1 and comes back with two gorgeous pitches and strikes him out for the third at bat in a row for Smith-Nijba (all at bats I watched today where he was batting all ended in Ks - tough game for him), And that is a clean 5-1 win, awesome job by the bullpen (AGAIN) for Biloxi as the offense comes to life a little bit. Nice game! Nashville goes up 3-0 after a sac fly but Tyler Black K's looking. On to the 3rd inning in Nashville.

    Adam Hall grounds into a tailor made double play. And it's bottom 9 with Yeager warming up. 4 run lead, let's hope he can close the door and finish the job this bullpen has started.
