  1. Well Ethan Murray - of all people - HR to make it a 4-1 Shucker lead. This equals all the run support they had last week - well except Thursdays twinbill. That’s right 4 runs Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And who had Ethan Murray in the HR bingo tonight!! meanwhile Yerlin gives the HR, then a single and a stolen base.
  2. And DePaula - for the Loons - sees Herbert’s HR, and raises it to a launched bomb to right center. 2-2. Oh boy
  3. Hedbert just smokes a hooking liner to RF. His first HR of the season!
  4. And Darrien Miller helps get a run back- although with a strike out -but O’Rae steals second and Casey Martin scores. 2-1 Shuckers.
  5. And Sanchez gets the last out. Swinging strike. Nice breaking ball. Phew. Closer than it needed to be. This should be a good learning outing for Dikember - learn by getting through adversity and succeeding, good job young man. Mud cats open the night with a 5-4 win
  6. Sanchez gets two outs… then a 3-2 single, and another 3-2 single (edited I thought he walked the batter) Uo oh. Lara gets a 2B for Trats would love to see him get hot these last few weeks.
  7. This is absolutely amazing. The work you all put in is treasured by many of us and I for one am eternally grateful. The recaps and the daily thread - I mean some days I can just “watch” the games from the details, highlights and posts. My hat is tipped, and a huge thank you to Jim, Daniel and Joseph.
  8. I know. I know. I get it. I'm excited as anyone about him, just want to see how he looks when he get to low A. I see wiguy94's points and hear you too Joseph. I can only hope he is the next phenom in our pipeline.
  9. Oh wow. Nick Bennett - never quite put it together and as a college pick from 2019 he had some time to prove it, and hopefully will get a chance in Indy ball or another organization. But Norman - that's more surprising given the lack of catching depth, and he was JuCo pick. But I guess at age 22 and still not having great numbers at low A time to see if another organization will give him a chance, or maybe there was other things going on as well. I wish them both luck, as we all do for the players released. As minor league fans we do get attached to the players, and dream of their success helping the Brewers win. Sadly the vast majority will not do that directly but we root for them every day
  10. And mercifully it ended. 11-1 bad loss. Shuckers are slumping the wrong time with a chance to make playoffs.
  11. Yeager comes into the 9th with the shuckers behind by several runs, and gives up 4 more. Still only 1 out. This game got ugly late (big 7th and 9th innings by MBraves). Currently 11-1. And bases are still loaded ugh And the offense remains incredibly quiet. Only 5 hits and the sole run off a EMJ HR.
  12. Man whatever the Shuckers were doing in July - they need to find it. August has not been kind. Offense is really struggling- a description I used a lot in May with them. And pitching has been good, but not lights out. Nice wins by the Mudcats after a short but encouraging outing by Letson. And Nashville wins to support what looks like a very strong outing by Mr. DL Hall.
  13. Hall walks. The Hedbert hits it hard right to the 1B. 3-2. Tough loss.
  14. Bad execution by the TRats - Garcia with a late start on the double steal. 2 outs. Full count on Hall.
  15. And Tyler Wehrle asked to pitch 4 innings of relief (probably because of the make up game yesterday and the 1 innings appearances of Birchard, Megill and Paredes today), and gives up the tying run in the 8th, and then backbreaking HR in the top of 9th. TRats now trail 3-1. Bottom 9. Let’s get that Yooper rally started please….
  16. Fair enough. I believe Made could be that talented, but want to see him in the Carolina league next year. And I also think we are underrating Yophery. He’s not Chourio, but having a very solid first stateside pro season. He could be a 4-5 tool prospect, as could Pratt.
  17. Birchard with a solid start. Walk and a hit allowed but a K and induced a GIDP Megill rehab appearance- 1-2-3. Two soft ground out. And Adams is a sneaky good defender at 3B. And Megill strikes out the poor Peoria Chief who had no chance.
  18. Oh yeah - my bad 🙄 whoops. Playoffs!! Yeah extra baseball!!
  19. Thanks. Missed that transaction - or just forgot it. Bummer hopefully purely precautionary. But I imagine he is shut down as there are what 2 weeks left in the season?
  20. MiLB has B. Rivera as Carolina’s starter but he just started last night (and went a partial inning too long which was the theme last night with Hunt, Cruz and Rivera). could be Letson or M. Rodriguez? Neither of them have pitched in over 10 days- either nagging injury or limiting innings for the young hurlers. Maybe a bullpen game?
  21. That may be a bit early. I think Made is a great prospect and could be like Chourio, Lara or Yophery in that he debuts at Carolina next year. That’s a big jump. So not ready to anoint him anything than the best DSL prospect we have coming stateside. However that depth is what is encouraging. One of Pratt/Yophery/Made should likely give the organization a chance at a top 10 prospect in the next year or two (so all eggs are not in one basket) Then it’s the good players where there are plenty to help fill the roster. But a core of Contreras, Chourio and Pratt/Yophery/Made, along with Ortiz/Tursng, Frelick/Mitchell etc is encouraging. That’s what I love most about this current group of prospects, there are 2-5 players at a position (SS, of, 3B etc) or with a particular skill set (power, speed, defense) so that as long as one (and ideally a couple) pan out it’s great. Unlike other times in the past when an injury or sheer lack of development of a particular player ultimately affected roster construction as well as overall team prospect rankings.
  22. TRats go down in order and it’s a final. Not the nest from W-L, and not a lot of offense. But we did have some nice pitching performances (C Peralta, Yoho/Ashby/Middendorf, J. Figueroa, KC Hunt, and Nick Merkel with a great outing!)
  23. And the Shuckers have more bad luck. After a D. Miller hard hit single, another hard hit single by Sparks. Two on and 1 out. Rally time. EMJ lines it hard and. Scorches it right to the diving SS, who jumps up to touch 2nd base for the force out double play. I mean that was a sure fire hit but the SS was already up the middle and made a great diving play to catch the liner. ugh And Yerlin in for the TRats and fills the bases and lets in another run. At least they won the first one today. Would be nice for some more magic and offense in Wisconsin. But first they need to get out of the bases loaded no out jam.
  24. Let’s get down tonight Casey Martin. 3-2 MBraves and the chance for more was scuttled by the umps who call ORae out on a steal attempt. Another odd call. The umps in this game were not the stars. Meanwhile TRats give up the lead and trail 3-2. And I was right - Merkel out and now Gardner in to keep it a 1 run game. But lights out work Merkel!
