  1. I have been going over pitcher stats and see that most of the A+, AA, AAA starting pitchers have really good BB/SO ratios. I hope they keep it up. Make the other team beat you by hitting!
  2. Just use the man as a LOOGY or pull him after a runner (or two) reaches base. Worst case scenario is he gives up a run or two.
  3. Cutting Overbay and bringing up Taylor Green is the first transaction. At least you have someone that can run. The defense you get from Overbay is not that great. Second move would be to cut Weeks. Let Bianchi hit lefties once in a while. This at least makes room for the next reliever. If we are ten games over .500 in June, make a trade to improve LF, 2B or 3B. One of the AAA starters and a prospect should be able to net something of an upgrade.
  4. I was at the CBS Sportsline page where it cut off at about .220 BA. Thanks for the info.
  5. From what I am seeing on the MLB stat page, Gindl has no AB with the big club. Is he hurt or have they already made up ther minds on him?
  6. Post subject: Re: 2014 Nashville Line Up/Roster Posted: March 08, 2014, 6:35 PM Post Green needs to prove himself in AAA. He also needs to solidify himself at 3b. We should not keep two 2b unless one can play elsewhere. Quote If you are referring to my comment on Taylor Green, I dd say long shot.
  7. Mr Southpaw said: SP - Nelson, Hellweg, Burgos, Jungmann, Pena, and Fiers RP - Shackelford, Blazek, Figaro, Heckelthorn, Olmsted, De La Torre, Hand, Seidel, Manzanillo that's 15 pitchers. and it doesn't include dustin molleken, nor does it include zach duke (likely has an opt-out clause if he doesn't make the major league club, but that hasn't been confirmed). I am just saying there are more than enough quality arms. No one can decide who will make the big league team at this point, much less the AAA team.
  8. There are almost no days off in April.. They are going to need there pitchers early in the season.
  9. If they keep five outfielders, they most likely only keep six infielder.... Must keep 1.Segura SS 2.ARam 3B Likely Keep 3. Weeks 2B 4. Reynolds 1B That leaves 2 bench positions 5. Bianchi/Herrara need a backup SS 6. One other player a. Scooter to platoon 2B. Backup for first would be Bianchi/Herrara. Maybe Maldanado in a pinch. b. Winner of JFran/Overbay. JFran/Reynolds back up 3B. c. Taylor Green. Can platoon Weeks, Play 3B and 1B. Longshot. The best option of the number six in my mind would be Green. He covers the infield and every position except SS and he can do that in a pinch. The second best is b. The winner of JFran and Overbay. First bas is platooned and looks respectable and a SS does not play first base in a pinch. The option the Brewers look like they will pick is a. Scooter. If they pick this option, they will need another infielder leaving Gindl the odd man out. One of the infielders (Bianchi, Herrara) will have to be the fifth outfielder.
  10. I hope Taylor Green eats up the PCL and solves this problem by May 15.
  11. Then Hellweg should be the closer at Nashville? I could live with that. We seem to have quite a few good arms getting prepared for Milwaukee.
  12. We need a left hand bat at first base not named Overbay, just too old an little power. Juan Fran strikes out to much and can't play defense. Anybody? Anybody?
  13. Bianchi is not that bad. He has barely played ath the MLB level. Give him a break. It is not like he has filed with multiple other clubs and is in his late 30's.
  14. What do you want from a farm system? 1. Major League ready pitching. B. Major League ready pitching. 3. Up the middle depth (C, SS, 2B CF). D. Corner power (1B, 3B, LF, RF), We have 1, B, and D (except for a Major League ready 3B within 2-3 years). Our draft needs to focus on a college 3B with power, more up the middle depth (especially SS and C), and more young pitching. That can be done in 1-2 drafts.
  15. I would love for Gindl to be in Milwaukee, but I think the platoon at 2b and/or 1b leave us with four outfielders.
  16. After looking at the major league roster possibilities, I saw quite a few players going to AAA. I put together a possible line up/roster for Nashville. It looks like Nashvillve could win some games this year! Feel free to adjust and post your ideas. LINEUP SS Herrera LF Gindl 3B Green 1B Morris RF Kentral Davis CF Prince 2B Parker, N Shaw C Zarraga DH Halton SP - Nelson, Hellweg, Burgos, Jungmann, Pena, and Fiers RP - Shackelford, Blazek Figaro, Heckelthorn, Olmsted, De La Torre, Hand, Seidel, Manzanillo
  17. Start Bianchi against leftie starters if you want to platoon Scooter. If you think Scooter can hit lefties, leave him in. I was only proposing a solution if Weeks were traded or cut.
  18. But cutting Weeks doesn't solve the main problem. Gennett can't hit left handed pitching. His career splits in the minor leagues are .259/.294/.349. He needs to be platooned. Unless you are a huge Elain Herrera backer I don't see what cutting Weeks solves except to placate certain fans. Start Bianchi
  19. I'd love to see D' Vontrey Richardson jump to AAA by june 1 and be the Nashville cf for the rest of the year with a September call up.
  20. I did not know that. He has put up Cecil Cooper type stats for the last two years. Is he worth the investment?
  21. I really like Green as a first base option, but here is another option. People have been talking about us getting Seattle's junk after they sign Kendrys Morales. Why don't we just sign him? His agent is Boras. We signed Lohse late last year and KRod this year, both Boris guys. Maybe two years with a little discount on his five million dollar contract from last year. Two years/eight million? If we are going to make a run, this seems a better option. Even if we do a two year/eleven or twelve million, we don't have to pay Francisco/ Overbay/Reynolds.
  22. Francisco is a human strike out. If he would or could improve, I would reconsider my opinion. Watching him with the Braves (when he had one hot streak) you wouls say "when will he come back to earth". He has and remains. I see nothing that he can do, other than hit home runs, that is better than what Green can do. Overbay is just an older version of Green. Why pay more and get less? Thanks MNBrew, Taylor Green is much more versatile than either of the other first base options. He and Bianchi make a good infield back up pair because of versatility, relative youth, and cost.
  23. My gut says 'comeback player of the year'. It is possible .260/.360/.460 with 20 HR and 75 RBI. As long as he doesn't get the 600m AB.
  24. Keep Reynolds Cut Francisco Cut Overbay Keep Taylor Green... ...tah dah! Green can platoon with Reynolds and give A-Ram a break once a week. If A-Ram gets hurt, bring up Hunter Morris and let Green go to 3rd Base with Bianchi. All you need is a manager that can play percentages with the opposing starting pitchers.
