  1. That is a lot of cash for a good defense, high average, light power shortstop. Who are the likely teams to sign him as it doesn't look like the Brewers.
  2. Can anybody tell me what they think Reyes will get? If you can get 6 years under $100 million I think your getting a relatively fair deal. I would much rather have a high quality SS and Gamel than Prince and Yuni.
  3. Really, Hanley got 6/$70 a couple of years ago. I was thinking $12-14 mill per year. Something like 6 year at about $80-$85 or will the Mets just overspend?
  4. How much will Jose get in free agency? Can we afford him with the Prince leaving?
  5. Reliever?
  6. If you can play baseball, you can play baseball. AAA vs Majors is a step up, but only a step.. If George played more he would hit better. Playing every day or just everyother day helps a lot. Gamel will hit in the Majors, he just need s to play. We will see that next year, hopefully, as a Brewer. I have really liked Green for a long time and pray he starts at least100 games for the for the Brewers next year.
  7. After the White Sox's lose 6 out of 8 to the Indians, Tigers and Red Sox's they will be willing to give us Omar Vazquez for almost nothing. I will take the 44 year old, 10 time gold glover as a defensive upgrade for late innings. He can switch hit and will do the right thing when asked to pinch hit. It never hurts to have a quality veteran to step up in critical situations.
  8. Weeks is 12th in the NL in SLG. I'd definitely prefer that he hit somewhere in the order with more men on base. He could end up with 40 2B and 30 HR but less than 70 RBI. With those stats they should think of batting the pitcher 8th. Maybe.... 1. Weeks 2. Braun 3. Fielder 4. Hart 5. Morgan 6. Lucroy 7. McGehee 8. Pitcher 9. Counsell/Wilson/Omar Vizquel (After the trade)
  9. The other option would be the scrap heap - A. give some unknown a shotB., give a has been a shot C. give a busted prospect a shot The answer is B. gice a has been a shot. Omar Vizquel, 44 year old 10 time gold glove switch hitter that loves the game of baseball and he would be cheap. Play a triangle at shortstop with Counsell, Vizquel and Wilson. Between the three of them there is 44 years of MLB experience.
  10. Omar Vizquel..... 44 years old, switch hitter, 10 gold gloves, cheap. I don't know what do you think, Doug.
  11. Omar Vizquel..... 44 years old, switch hitter, 10 gold gloves, cheap.
  12. Trade for Omar Visquez and .....have a three way!
  13. I still would have preferred McClendon to stay on this club though. Diito, maybe they are trying to trade Dillard. A couple of good outings and maybe someone will bite.
  14. Trade for Omar Vizquel (10 Gold Gloves and hits .280 part time, switch hitter) cut Josh Wilson Bring up Mat Gamel (big bat off the bench, 1b during interleague, sub for Casey 10-12 games) cut Mark Kotsey Bring up George Kottaras (start him 20-25 times against righties and to keep Lucroy fresher) cut Wil Nieves Lineups Against Lefties 2b Weeks rf Hart lf Braun 1b Fielder 3b McGehee c Lucroy ss Bentacourt/Vizquel cf Gomez/Morgan Pitcher Against Righties 2b Weeks cf Morgan lf Braun 1b Fielder 3b McGehee/Gamel (not often) rf Hart c Lucroy/Kottaras ss Vizquel/Counsell Pitcher Interleague 2b Weeks cf Morgan lf Braun dh Fielder 3b McGehee rf Hart 1b Gamel c Lucroy/Kottaras ss Vizquel/Counsell If we use our bench better (let them start once in a while) we will have more power off the bench.
  15. One PH One Walk One run
  16. Trade for Omar Vizquel, have a three way platoon, then play the hot hand. We are not going to get a great SS this year, so just make due.
  17. Omar Vizquel CWS Is he too old? He would not cost anything.
  18. Anybody know if the PTBNL was ever finalized with Toronto in the Carlos V trade? They seem to have a couple of mid level SS prospects.
  19. Boston looks to be dumping some salary. Anybody think they would take Gomez plus something for Cameron at about $4 million.
  20. Taylor Green...Just stay healthy and hit the snot out of the ball. Del Howell...The pitching version of Richardson. Once (if) he gets it, watch out.
  21. Why would he ever agree to a deal with two club option years? 13 million reasons then 13 million more reasons.
  22. Five Year Deal 2011 $7.0 2012 $10.0 2013 $11.0 2014 $13.0 Club Option $4.0 2015 $13.0 Club Option $2.0 Control for 3 years = $32 Control for 4 years = $43 Control for 5 years = $54 The insurance is built in and if Rickie become great, it is a bargain contract. Book it, Dano.
