  1. I think we're going to have some fun in a dark room. Too bad, because the game's in HD on DirecTV tonight.
  2. If the offense didn't take all but about 5 of the last 27 innings in St. Louis off, would we be having this conversation? So much blame to go around that it's almost impossible to find just one source.
  3. I accepted this last year, even though my disdain for Yost told me otherwise. I'm not accepting it this year. Something is wrong.
  4. Didn't say it was easy. It wasn't. It was necessary, and that trumped the difficulty of it.
  5. I agree. Everyone should do what I did and just take a day off. I feel so much better about this loss having not seen one pitch of it. Can't even begin to describe it.
  6. I don't know about that, and I'm not going to do the research. I have never trusted Yost, and if getting a new manager is the upshot to this collapse, at least we get a new manager out of the deal. And the team is still really young. Maybe someone will come in here and do what Leyland did for the Tigers/Scioscia for the Angels.
  7. Maybe I was the only one watching yesterday when Turnbow couldn't find his ass with both hands and ended up getting lucky. He's been awful this week. Just like Cordero. I'd love to put this all on the offense, but they scored 5 Thursday, 6 yesterday, and 5 today. They should have had more, but that should be enough to win a major-league baseball game. The starting pitchers deserve some blame for being generally awful while pitching with leads, but the bullpen sucks right now. And I agree. It's time for someone in a position of power with this team to admit that it's not okay. Something is wrong. If this team were at .500 right now after a hot start, changes would be made, and we shouldn't wait forever to start looking at what can be done to get a jumpstart...since you can't just off and fire all the players.
  8. So my decision to not watch the game was a good one? Sweet. I am not known for consistently making good decisions. It's my way of being like Ned Yost. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. I'm taking the day off. With there being no game tomorrow, I hope to be back refreshed, renewed, and with a better attitude by Monday. Even in the vent thread, you don't want to read what I'm thinking.
  10. Hey! Pujols just put his hands on an umpire...SUSPENSION!!!
  11. Unsolicited advice from Ned Yost: While I really do agree with Ned, I hope he understands that, similar to playing baseball, this is easier said than done. I think a lot of the "panic" we've experienced is natural when you're not used to a pennant race.
  12. I think it's an easy trap to fall into. There is so much emphasis placed on things like sacrifice bunts and grounders to the right side that move runners. It goes back to the fallacy that the White Sox won a World Series by playing smallball, which couldn't be further from the truth if you said the White Sox won the World Series because of an MVP season from Juan Uribe. I think it was, in part, because no one could figure out how they traded Carlos Lee for a slap hitter and seemed to make a better team out of it. Anyway, I've found myself appreciating the innings where the Brewers "grind" out runs by not hitting any home runs. Why? Maybe because I've had it planted in my head that the Brewers hit too many home runs. And they certainly weren't playing much "smallball" last night, at least not the way I see "smallball" playing out. They were pretty much raking the ball all over the place last night. Keep it up, boys. Call it what you want, but I'll take it by any name. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. BUILD A DOME!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  14. I've been gone much of the day. Did I miss something? Is Linebrink still joining the team tonight? Who's going bye-bye?

  16. I guess this means we'll be changing hitting coaches once the Cubs run away with the division.
  17. Weren't steroids banned from baseball in like 1991?
  18. Great work, Bob. Screw you, Bonds. If anyone wonders why it's so hard for people to get really excited about this record, here is a shining example. It's not just that Aaron was so classy or that Bonds is an egotistical cheater. It's because Bonds is such a colossal ass. How can you root for a guy like that?
  19. This is why I said I think I need a weekend off. I'm not sure I'll take it, but stepping away even for a little while this afternoon helped me vent without taking it out on anyone here...or anyone else, for that matter. Reality: We're not going to stay in first place unless we start playing better baseball. But the Cubs would eventually take over first place no matter what if they keep playing like they are.
  20. Happy Birthday to the King of Brewerfan. What? No ice cream cake? Ice cream cake >> real cake Pretty sure I'm getting one when I turn 30 next month.
  21. Ned Yost. No, I don't care that he hasn't been a player in a long time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  22. Thanks, Captain Obvious. In other news, water is wet.
  23. I think I need a weekend away from this mess.
