  1. He's facing some stiff competition for the job. Ng, DiPoto, and LaCava are all strong candidates. Kim Ng would be the first female GM.
  2. Anyone on Arrested Development Londo Molari - Babylon 5 Malcolm Reynolds - Firefly (really any character from this show) Dr. John Becker - Becker Miles Edward O'Brien - ST: TNG but mostly ST: DS9 Dr. Gregory House - House M.D.
  3. The gas station you are talking about is called Link Stop. It's owned by one of the Link brothers. The grocery store in Minong (again owned by a Link) also has huge bags for sale too.
  4. I think Jeter's a lock. Same with A-Rod. Jeter should get there first though.
  5. The Astros should be sellers, not buyers right now. Giving up anything for Wolf just doesn't make much sense for Houston right now. At best it will allow them to finish 6 or 7 games out of the wild card instead of 10. Instead of trading for players they should instead shop Tejada and Lee. See if they can at least get some players for the future for some of those guys.
  6. The fist Sonic in Wisconsin will be opening in October in Eau Claire. Can't wait.
  7. He'll probably still make a nice profit from personal appearances and endorsements. He had a nice career here.
  8. Today former Brewer Hideo Nomo announced his retirement from baseball.
  9. Today former Brewer Hideo Nomo announced his retirement from baseball. He was a pioneer who paved the way for Japanese stars to come to the US and play in MLB.
  10. If the Brewers offered enough money I'm certain he'd love to stay. I don't see the Brewers offering that much though.
  11. Sports Illustrated has a series of "Where are they now" articles up. One is on former Brewer Jim Abbott. It's a great read about an inspirational person. Sports Illustrated Article
  12. Giving up LaPorta is a tough but getting one of the absolute best pitchers in the game makes it worth the gamble. He's the type of pitcher than can really help propel us to the playoffs and once in the playoffs the one two punch of Sheets and Sabathia (aka the S and S Express) will make us very tough to beat. It's my birthday today and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present than Sabathia going to the Brewers..
  13. I'd like to see us try to get David Lee from the Knicks. He's not flashy or all that exciting but he's reliable and tough. He does the little things.
  14. I would think LaPorta would be the guy.
  15. Nets GM Rod Thorn said Jefferson sent him a text message and RJ didn't sound happy about being traded. He's played his whole career with the Nets and didn't want to be traded so it's understandable. Now he's got to move to a new city, make new friends, have new teammates, etc. That's not easy. RJ isn't the type to talk to the media about much so we probably won't hear too much from him until later.
  16. The guy who did the draft grades for The Sporting News called Luc-Richard Mbah a Moute, "Ron Artest without the crazy." I like that.
  17. He spells Luc like Jean-Luc Picard does. That's always a good sign. He's a great defender, a very tough and strong guy, and a team player. He may not develop into much of an offensive game but as a tough lock down defender off the bench he's a very nice guy to have.
  18. Luc Richard Mbah A Moute has played plenty of power forward too. He could probably fill in some at both positions. He's another team oriented, defensive minded guy. He does the little things you need to do to win. Plus he's a bona fide prince. Jefferson, Alexander, and LR MAM should really change the attitude of the team.
  19. Jefferson will provide a defensive upgrade. He's not a great defender but he's pretty solid. If we can get Alexander in the draft we should be much improved. Jefferson and Alexander will help change the attitude of the team into something better.
  20. I've been using Firefox of a year and a half now. I can't go back to IE at all. It just seems clunky and slow. It annoys me. I'm planning on downloading Firefox3 tomorrow. edit: I could not wait and downloaded it. It's awesome. Much improved. It seems faster and smoother. Plus it looks better. In my opinion Firefox is superior to IE in every way there is.
  21. The author of the article already posted about it here.
  22. So he should get a contract extension by what ... August? If they follow the Rays model he should get that contract extension by 3:15pm today.
  23. The Padres could call up Headley soon too. I also like Bruce. He should be pretty fun to watch.
  24. Oh, man. That suit...he looked like a clown on draft day. These guys really need to get someone to dress them. That suit is ridiculous.
