  1. that hit by Hairston was huge because it not only knocked in 2 runs but it'll help keep Felipe Lopez on the bench which is even more important in the big picture
  2. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/AJLOVE_01/RUTHBABE__BNY-10.jpghttp://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/AJLOVE_01/RUTHBABE__BNY-10.jpg
  3. I love it when I'm wrong (Kotsay). I'm gonna keep posting about what horrible baseball players Betancourt & Kotsay are, and I'm gonna keep enjoying the Brewers success!!!!
  4. Would like to see a 3 man rotation of Greinke, Gallardo & Marcum if at all possible because I do not want Kottaras starting in the playoffs. Teams will run all day on him. Honestly I don't want Betancourt starting in the playoffs either but benching him is unlikely to happen but I can wish. It really should be Hairston starting at SS with Morgan/Gomez in CF I am fearful of Kotsay & Counsell getting significant pinch-hit at bats off the bench. I would hope that Lopez and Wilson are gone once Weeks & Gomez get back... Picking up a very solid left-handed bench bat to replace Kotsay would be shrewd but won't happen
  5. Beyond the lefty/lefty matchup stuff, I have a problem with Kottaras starting in the playoffs because he struggles throwing out runners. Problems like that gets magnified bigtime in playoff games.
  6. So, just so everyone is clear about things and on the same page: 4th game of a Playoff series with Randy Wolf on the mound and the other team starts a LHP and nobody is going to complain about Kottaras starting? I sure will...
  7. Also, swagger comes from playing the game plushdamentally sound, which this team excels at.I know (or at least think) you are kidding or at least having a fun play on words, but fundamentals is part of this teams biggest weakness: Our defense is pretty bad, especially for a 1st place team. We don't have very many high OBP guys, and Roenicke seems determined to keep allowing very poor hitters like Kotsay, Lopez & Counsell to get significant playing time. Thats all well and good when you are playing teams like the Pirates & Astros and the pitching is great, but I seem to remember this team looking horribly outmatched against the Yankees & Red Sox this year, and my concern is that come playoff time the free-swinging and poor defense is going to come back to bite us...
  8. The biggest differences this season have been Greinke, Marcum, K-Rod and Nyjer Morgan, and not allowing Morgan to bat against LHP (i.e. using him correctly). I complain about Doug Melvin alot but that is one helluva influx of talent. Swagger comes with winning
  9. Hart has a .789 OPS vs RHP and a .975 OPS vs LHP this season, and in his career the differences are .788 vs .882 ... even if not a straight platoon I'd see nothing wrong with sitting him vs the tougher RHP in favor of Gamel (or Morgan when Gomez is healthy and having better defense with Gomez in CF and Morgan in RF) at any rate, McGehee coming off the bench would be a lot better than him starting. And obviously Felipe Lopez should never start
  10. Just imagine how good this team could be if Doug Melvin & Ron Roenicke did a better job with personnel and starting lineups? Using Hairston more and having Gamel & Green up and starting would mean that McGehee could be a bench hitter and Corey Hart could be a bench hitter vs RHP with Gamel in RF.
  11. Morgan came through big time but that at bat Braun had vs Hanrahan was epic
  12. Tony LaRussa said it wasn't classy and he's going to file a grievance with MLB. Also he said that on the next at-bat when Morgan faces the Cardinals he will be hit by a pitch, but it won't be "intentional"
  13. I think at this point Nyjer Morgan could be elected Mayor of Milwaukee
  14. That would be pretty tough to determine from over 100 years of MLB but this has gotta be one of the worst. Speaks to how good the pitching has been this year
  15. Yes. And Water is Wet. (No offense intended, just want to point out how frustrating it is when fans like us can see the obvious but somehow Roenicke & Melvin can't!)
  16. And alot of FAT pitches to brutally bad hitters too....hmmmm
  17. Well, for one, Jerry Hairston and his .325 OBP is available. He is a better baseball player than Lopez, Counsell, Wilson, Kotsay, Betancourt, McGehee And that doesn't even get into the whole deal with Gamel & Green also being better baseball players than Lopez, Counsell, Wilson, Kotsay, Betancourt, McGehee (but that is another topic for another thread I 'spose) But seriously, Felipe Lopez as the lead-off hitter? That is craziness. Betancourt of all people has a better OBP than Lopez!
  18. Felipe Lopez as the lead-off hitter? Mark Kotsay (of all people) "protecting" Prince?. Counsell at 2B & Lopez at 3rd?
  19. If you spotted the Nashville Sounds a good MLB pitcher, they'd have a fairly good chance to beat this lineup. Wow
  20. And to be equally fair: Counsell, Wilson, Lopez & McGehee have been below average MLB players this season
  21. Jerry Hairston Jr and his .324 OBP... though it could be argued that Betancourt is better than Lopez & Kotsay so therefore Hairston is needed even more at 2B or in the CF platoon Really it should be Taylor Green at 2B & Hairston at SS
  22. That's not nice. Stop wishing carpal tunnel on people
  23. That W counts just as much as a 7-0 game would And hopefully that's the last time I hear Mitch Williams announce a Brewers game in this lifetime
  24. Taylor Green would've had that. Would've dove into the 3rd row. Just sayin'
