  1. it'll be very interesting to see how he does. Many have suggested that his AAA stats were inflated due to altitude
  2. It would be like trading for a real MLB 3B at the deadline without having to give anything up
  3. Loe takes up the space of two men, but he can only pitch to right-handed batters, so he counts as one man. We call him "Lurch" at our house
  4. Put him in right-field and tell him to imitate Corey Hart, that won't be too stressful on the ankle! Seriously, though, you just ease him in gradually and hope for the best
  5. As others have said, playing only .500 baseball the rest of the way would be a big disappointment. If Rickie & Gomez can come back strong in September I could see the Brewers being a very good team at just the right time to make that playoff push
  6. Small sample alert but in the last 28 days Casey is batting .319 with a .358 OBP (.858 OPS)
  7. the numbers I'm thinking about right now are 21-35 (The Brewers' road record). Only Houston has a worse road record in the NL, and only Houston, Baltimore & Kansas City have worse road records in MLB. I know its a relative small sample, buts its a little staggering when put in that context We've got to improve on that if we are going to make the playoffs And yes, I realize we now have the best home record in MLB, even better than the Phillies
  8. Gallardo's reaction to T Plush at 5:09 is hilarious
  9. Not sure how many of you saw this yesterday on MLB Network, but I thought it worth posting. It is often-times hilarious and it's great to see our players having fun. Love the part about trying to convince Carlos Gomez to be in the Sausage Race (can you imagine that?!) ... and love Fielder's response when asked who is the better overall athlete between him & Braun: "its definitely Ryan, he can hit, throw, field, run, he can do it all... me I can pretty much... (pause) ... hit" http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=17396516
  10. Since when did Dusty Baker start managing the Cardinals? (Jackson still pitching)
  11. What are the percentage chances that Taylor Green or Mat Gamel could've hit 3 HR's today?
  12. "The Cardinals fashion themselves as the keepers of baseball etiquette....That was uncalled for. It's just bush league, that's what it is. Bush league. ....Once again, they're nothing if not predictable, complain about everything, but that's Cardinal's baseball." - Bill Schroeder Awesome
  13. This game should be forever known as the "Sunflower Seed" game
  14. It never ends does it? LaRussa is looney tunes (but still classy)
  15. Anyone see the interview with Braun & Fielder on Intentional Talk (MLB Network) with Tony Plush standing by providing security? Hilarious. They were asked which of them was a better overall athlete. Braun said "Prince". Prince said "its definitely Ryan, he can do it all, he can hit, run, throw, play defense, he's got it all... me? I can pretty much...hit..." many smiles all around Braun also said that they had tried to convince Carlos Gomez to be in the Sausage Race and obliterate the all-time record.
  16. Early reports are that Tony LaRussa and Dave Duncan blame the Brewers organization for this incident.
  17. good to see Hairston getting a start. The bottom half of the lineup looks brutal as always but hopefully Yuni B will continue his hitting streak I'm amused by the casual fans on JSOnline who don't understand sitting Morgan vs a LHP
  18. I prefer Plush Gumbel over Tony Plush. Tony Plush antagonizes opposing fans and hurts the feelings of "Classy Baseball" organizations. Melvin's best move so far was firing Ken Macha edit: didn't mean that 2nd part to be in Blue
  19. Losing K-Rod will be a big loss and tough to replace.
  20. C- Lucroy 1B - Braun 2B - Weeks SS - Free Agent pickup 3B - Green with Casey backing him up occasionally playing vs LHP LF - Gamel platoon with a free agent pickup CF - Morgan/Gomez RF - Hart I'd like to see Braun moved to 1B, less wear and tear on his body...
  21. Looks like Davis has struggled in his first 8 games in AA ball, going just 3 for 22. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out the rest of the year
  22. The #2 seed is, in my opinion, less critical than having Weeks & Gomez back healthy come playoff time (if we make the playoffs)
  23. How is it that Hairston can't be in the starting lineup when he is a better baseball player than Betancourt, McGehee, and Lopez? I'm beginning to not like Roenicke a whole lot. Is he confused and thinks that Hairston is a young player?
  24. vs RHP: CF Morgan 3B Hairston LF Braun 1B Fielder RF Hart 2B Lopez SS Betancourt C Lucroy P vs LHP RF Hart CF Hairston LF Braun 1B Fielder 2B Lopez SS Betancourt 3B McGehee C Lucroy P When Weeks comes back, Betancourt or McGehee gets benched depending on who is hitting worse
