  1. The way I split them up by ceiling is. Jungmann is the same guy he was walking in as a freshman. Texas Gatorade player of the year, Freshman All-American, and etc. but he never really took it to the next level. This years ERA I think has more to do with the bats than stuff. When a guy walks in and pitches the way he did as a freshman you'd like to see him continue to become more dominate but he sayed at the same level IMO. Why would he all of a sudden take it to the next level now and be that electric Ace or #2. It is possible but he hasn't shown the progress to me. Bradley was a no one light up the guns at a cool 86 in high school. Got to GT because he had really good off speed stuff to mix with that slow fastball. Now he is hitting 94 and has command of all 3 pitches (hope they give him a fourth to work on). He can throw all three anywhere in the count and from reports I have read they all can be out pitches. With him (about to turn 21) you can actually see his progression and him evolve over his time at GT. So overall I think Bradley is still growing as a pitcher making his ceiling higher but has a lower floor because he had not been lights out. Jungmann has been lights out in his career giving him a really high ceiling but has not shown much progression giving him a lower ceiling. That is how I seperate them. I think Jungmann will be fine, I love the righty/lefty combo, now just hope they pan out. Said news is our system has gotten no younger so hope these guys get signed now and get working. Hate to see a whole rotation of 22 year olds dominating or struggling in MWL again.
  2. YES! Bradley has saved the draft for me. No need to ask I like him so much more than Jungmann it is on page 17-20 somewhere
  3. I have never been a fan of Jungmann but yes over dramatic. I don't think is great, don't think we will be a stand out prospect, but hopefully I am wrong.
  4. Great! High floor- okay ceiling pitcher! Thanks Bruce, we didn't have enough of those laying around! Just pick Meyer at 15 and make me the worlds mist disappoint Brewer dan in the world. Tough to dig out of this hole already.
  5. Gosh, I will never want a player again. Was high on Springer
  6. Had my hopes so high for Baez, the world has just crashed ha ugh I hate the Cubs so much!
  7. Yeah I don't see Baez lasting now.....
  8. Bye bye Lindor http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  9. Like the balls of DBacks to not go safe, hope Brewers do same, BPA all the way
  10. A. Bradley gone to Snacks according to Callis
  11. Starting to sound like Baez is a homer, lot of buzz of him going before 12. Pains me to say but I think Cubs may take him
  12. Baseball really needs to stop giving OUT Type A grades for FA like candy. 27 sandwich picks this season is outragious! That is almost a who round worth. Type A FreeAgents should be just that....Type A, elite, Carl Crawford type guys. I knew there were a lot this year but didn't know there was that many. This is why the draft needs so much reform. There should be nomore that 8-12 Type A players. I forgot when looking for second picks that they will all be gone because Brewers third pick is about a 3rd round pick. No Bichette Jr., Joe Ross, Derek Fisher, Phillip Evans, and etc. But I can live with Lindor/Baez 12/15 combo http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. How does it effect you if you have a deal in place and the guy goes earlier? It has zero effect. Win scenerio if you get him because he is signed, if he is draft well you just go back to square one with the next guy.
  14. If Brewers have a pre-draft deal with a high school payer already that is huge! I really hope that this year not everything is forced to go to the wire. At this point I think I'm Trout type heart broken if we don't get Baez. I was so excited for Trout then the Angels one pick before stole him and left us with Arnett...hate to feel that pain again ha
  15. I think it is going to be pretty tough for the Brewers to blow this, there are just so many good options. Alex Meyer is the deal breaker who will give the Brewers a giant F for the draft. But that is 100% IMO and my confidence that Alex Meyer is make Arnett look like a 10x Cy Young winner or Evan Fredrickson part 2. Even if we got Lindor, A. Bradley or anyone else, the Meyer pick will just sour the whole draft. Mr. positive I know but lol I really do not want Meyer.
  16. More and more everyday I'm falling in love with Baez, I'd even take him over Lindor. I really like the explosive Lawrie type bat except the nice thing with Baez is that he is actually a good defender from what I have read, even at SS, the issue is from my understanding is his body will simply outgrow the postition. SS or 3B we really don't have much depth. On twitter late last night I read Lindor was going #2 to Seattle but that is just a rumor. Really curious to see where he ends up. Bell & Shihart have both send out letter saying don't draft me so that takes them completely out of talk. Last thing we need is a player holding out until deadline, missing all the rookie season and demanding a huge some of money. Lindor, Baez, Guierrieri all seem like guys who want to sign but that is from me looking in. Wrming up to Cron a little more. I compared him a lot to LaPorta but that isnt accurite since Cron is actually a great all-around hitting who has good power, where as Laporta was mostly all power. Only bad thing is Gamel, Halton, and Morris seem like pretty good depth right now and Cron doesn't have another position. I like Springer more than Mahtook because he is an all-around better athlete and player (speed, arm, quick wrist, body type, and etc) both I wouldn't mind either. This is kind of a rough draft board but in this order Top Targets at #12 A. Bradley, J. Baez, F. Lindor, Guierrieri Top targets at #15 (Same as above first, whoever is left) Gray, Norris, Springer, Mahtook, Cron, Barnes, Anderson, Fisher (one of my favorite prospects), Michaels, Fernandez
  17. I think it is a little early to project honestly. He has only had two smaller sample sizes so far: first in Arizona last year now the little bit this season. He had been sitting around 89 for first few outings now today it was reported he was up to 90-92 a good amount. It was said in high school he was hitting 96 and could work around 91-94. I haven't been able to see him yet and heard enough about his overall stuff yet to really say his ceiling but as of now I think (straight guess) a #3-#5 depending on where his velocity will end up (if it gets back to touch 95-96 maybe higher) and how could his off-speed stuff is. The nice thing is that he is kind of like a 2011 college draft pick with his age (J. Bradley and Barnes are both that 20 almost 21) and the fact he hasn't had the opportunity to pitch much yet. So really he could continue to grow a bunch when you think in that aspect. I'm hoping for the best! I'd love him to start to become a real prospect.
  18. I may have missed it and haven't seen it posted yet but According to Ash: Orginally I was under the impression he'd be shut down almost all season so I thought this was good news. Hopefully he can get back on track and make some progress.
  19. In fairness they had have had great hits on Neugebauer and Jones as prospects but bad luck kills. Both could have been frontline starters if it weren't for the injuries (which still counts as busting i know). Jones held his own in AA as a young 20 year old and career was looking so promising then the injuries came. Gold, Murray, and Brewer were pretty bad misses, Krynzel was an exciting prospect to follow but was a dud at the end. Book is still open on Rogers as he walks the line on Neugy/Jones and being a success. Jeffress minus drugs has been good and I think we will have a very nice pro career, Lawrie I think will be a very good pro.
  20. It doesn't concern me, I just feel he is the same type of pitcher we have gone for. I noted that I would have no issue if we drafted him it is that I just feel he will be that typical big horse college righty who is a good prospect gets ton of groundballs but won't be an over powering strike out pitcher. I think he is could be a #2 or #3. I'd prefer something different from the norm however. Bradley has one MAJOR plus that over shadows the strikeout rate for me and that is he is a lefty. Our system to be nice, has crap for lefty prospects. Merklinger is closer to 25, still in AA and has not been great. Howell is 23 and still is managing to have an awful FIP over 6 in the MWL against younger and should be inferior players. Oh and Meadows and Nieves are the others. As for ceilings, while Jungmann as been the same dominate power arm workhorse for one of the top programs in the country. He was gatorade player of the year in Texas and is the similar to the prospect people have thought he would be. Bradley has only gotten better every year and continued to grow. He is a kid who was not drafted out of high school because while he was a crafty lefty who could hit spots he only throw 86 on the gun. Now he hits 94, sits around 92 but still has the abilty to throw all three pitches in any count of a strike. To me there has been a lot more progression in his game over the past 3-4 years than Jungmann explaining the higher-floor for Jungmann and higher ceiling for Bradley. Just because Bradley doesn't light up the gun doesn't mean he doesn't have a high ceiling. Gallardo is a great example of how a 92 fastball is good enough when you can throw all you off-speed pitches for strikes. It would be nice if Bradley could pick up one more pitch (only fb, change, slider) but I think we will continue to improve what hes has now and is a possible #1-#2 pitcher in the future. Doubt Brewers have a shot at him but I'd love the pick.
  21. I am praying we go HS, thats all. Baez, Bradley, Guierrieri, Norris, Lindor, Swihart being the main targets, wouldnt mind Fernandez at 15. While I really like to go HS i would have no issue with Springer, Gray, Jed Bradley, Barnes, Mahtook, and maybe Anderson. A guy like Jungermann wouldn't be so bad but my issue with him is he is just like our whole system. has a big body, can get groundballs, be effective but won't K many guys. Which we can live with, we are right now, I just prefer high ceiling over floor. Really as long as Alex Meyer (Arnett 2.0) is not a Brewer I am a happy man
  22. Hall is going pretty good, two wild pitches, one that hurt him but has k'd 5 through 5.
  23. So above average fastball, change-up, and curveball, good command, and good velocity but these "experts" say ceiling of reliever.... dumbfounding.
  24. What does Green offer? He has had a good month of AAA ball so that means it should translate? McGehee will be fine, slumps like this happen. It is too bad Gamel is no longer an option however. Id be much more willing to call up a big league starting bat over a utility bat. Green needs much more time and to prove himself
