  1. Like I have been screaming for over a year now, Nichols absolutely dislikes/hates Khris Davis. That is the only semi-reasonable excuse he has for not promotioning last year when he earned and now this season when he has earned it. This has made me EXTREMELY upset since he tore up the miswest league but I guess Nichols doesn't care about promoting great talent and deserving prospects. At some point someone in the orginization has to say enough is enough, he needs to be promoted. FREE KHRIS DAVIS!!!!!!
  2. Here are two tweets from Uecker Powell about the poissibility of Brewers going after soon to be 16 yr old, other son of Raul Mondesi, Adalberto.
  3. Yawn, wake me when Thorny is in AA and given a challenge ha http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif unreal! Also when will Nichols notice or start to like khris davis? JUst dont get it..... at all
  4. Braves are way to high on the young Freeman to spend that much on Prince. There is zero reason no matter who you get to trade Fielder. Fans would be pissed, players would be pissed, coaches would be pissed not to mention you are trading the emotional leader of the team and one of the most feared batters in baseball in the midst of a pennent race while the team (even consider the rough losses while playing hardest schedule in baseball) is rolling pretty good. Why destroy that? Why risk it. Take the picks. I care more about 2011 playoffs than anything. All season all we have heard is "WE ARE GOING FOR IT" then we toss away one of the best hitters in baseball in the middle of the season. I don't care who it is that we get, at all. We know what we will get with Prince. We know how the other guys follow him and love him. Why think Reyes or whoever will come here and stay extremely hot and carry the team or be a leader. Most trades don't workout and catch fire like the CC deal. Just a awful idea unless we drop WAY out of contention. If it is not broken do fix it. It to is running great don't mess with it. Instantly after that trade the demands for Melvins job or head should be made. Worse move in baseball history. You don't trade one of your top players for another all-star while in contention, you trade prospects for all-stars. Who makes a trade to cancel itself out?
  5. Everyone except Nichols would agree. Earned a promotion last year, Nichols denied, earned one this year and still Nichols has yet to show him love..... Free Khris Davis!!
  6. Center Fielder. By them having a great athlete like Dowell move over to the corner I figure like Logan Shafer and Richardson, he is a guy who gets priority over the others at that spot. I think I have heard he is not a blazer like a Gomez but all around a very good CF with a solid arm, good speed and range (so maybe similar to a Shafer defensively as well but I could be wrong)
  7. Its really odd that Drew Gagnon and Lopez have yet to sign. Both you'd figure were going to be easy signs. Lopez is not a high college commitment guy and seemed like he really wanted to get going. Gagnon is another guy who seemed wanted to quickly get in and get started. With Bradley, Jungmann, and Reed I figured they where more difficult signs that would take some time but I se no reason why Gagnon, Lopez, and Ramirez are not locked up and starting rookie ball. I am so happy we have signed more 40th round- UDF than we have top 20 picks....priorities due not seem to be there. Lets go and get these boys signed Seid! Lets not waste 2 1/2 months of rookie ball, many really need it. I also find it really interest that we have heard zero about Bradley. My guess is he wants to go back to the Cod and make every hitter look like a fool like he did last year (Cape Cod made him a top 10 worthy pick alone last summer). If he can do that again, he can force the Brewers hand to pay up top 5-10 money instead of 15. That is just a guess through. Jungmanns arm is prob close to maxed out for the year anyway, so if he doesn't sign until late that will be alright. I much have him sign late, get down to Arizona and learn to use throse long legs a little bit before he hits the mound. He is wasting 3-5 MPH and beating the crap out of his arm with his jerky, violent mechanics. I think the pitching coach in BC could be a big help with that with the work he did with Scarpetta last year in geting Cody to use his legs better. Hopefully he will be the a pitching coach that is around him alot.
  8. Last ST I thought he had a real chance, then all the injuries and really bad 2010 set him back but glad to see he is healthy and coming back around. It will be nice to see the competition between Wheeler, Farris, Green, Wilson next Spring for IF utility spots. Nice thing about Wilson is he can play all 4 Corners if needed. I think Rivera being down in Helena and hitting right now is HUGE. His confidence was prob a little down in Wisconsin but his bat was coming along towards the end before being sent down. I think that experience overall will pay off great for him. Ozuna is now 2-3 and just a flat out stud. I fell in love with him last season when he was Ruben "Sanchez" and really hope he can be the real deal. Seems as if Bruce Seid feels he hit gold when he talked about Ruben.
  9. He doesn't like rain and snow, having bad outting, long boring bus rides, and getting a tattoo hurts. I see nothing wrong with not liking a million rain outs (he got pushed back a ton of times this season due to weather), most people aren't happy when they aren't performing the way they feel they should, long 5,6,7 hour bus rides do suck, and tattoos do hurt.... I have no problem with what he tweets. Its not like he is complaining about his team, or being a Brewer. Not a big fan of Wisconsin weather but who from Florida is. I've lived here my whole like and I complain like crazy about the crap weather, its all over the place.
  10. Very hard to see Steffan Wilson not winning All-Star Game MVP going 3-4 with 2 RBI's for the winning North team.
  11. I wonder who will play 2nd if Berard is moved to first. Also a sidenote, from my draft research Renaldo Jenkins goes by the nickname "Ra Ra" Jenkins
  12. It really seems like he wants nothing to do with the Brewers but that is IMO. Good trade chip for the future so yes, I still want him.
  13. Sub Green for Gamel and Rivas for Peralta and that is more likely. Thornburg, a utility IF bat, a 4th OF, and a 4-5 starter I doubt will get it done. Reyes is the top SS in baseball right now, Mets are going to overcharge and make a killing. Honestly go for Furcal or someone like that. Our system is so bare already, we can't afford to toss what little he have left.
  14. Greinke stats tell the story themselves....there is nothing to be nervous about. ERA is a very misleading stat that a pitcher doesn't have that much control over. Of the stats he can control. As noted before, he has a 2.54 FIP, 1.95 XFIP, 11.81 K/9, 1.52 BB/9, 7.78 K/BB. His LOB% and BABIP are much worse than his career average so it will in all likelihood come back up to the 70% LOB% and a BABIP of around .300 (right now 56% and .364). His biggest issue is the long ball with 13% of fly balls ending up as homeruns. The only pitcher with a worse one is Loe. I think when he finally gets command of his curveball which has been hanging right in every hitters wheelhouse, all will be well and the hurt of trading Greinke Jr. (Odorizzi) won't be so bad cause we will be in the playoffs
  15. It is only the start of his 2nd full season. Highly doubt they are that will to completely pull the plug on a number 1 pick after 2 1/2 seasons; So not so much do or die as it is just an important season to perform. Reliever is always an option though. Pitchers like him who have struggled mentally or with confidence often perform much better in the pen (Anunsen, Parra) less thought goes into it. You don't have 4 days to dwell, think, be anxious, nervous, and etc. You have no clue when you are going out there and you many times don't have days to bask in what occured your last start.
  16. Really hoping everything that was wrong with Arnett is in the past and he is ready and able to start to be the player that he can be. Is anyone else extremely disappointed that we are 3-4 days away from the first games of rookie ball and the Brewers have yet to sign really any high picks? Usually the Brewers would have a few top guys ready to go but right now we have signed only 6 of our top 30 picks. Even worse Bruce Seid is going or is down in the Dominican scouting so it could be even longer til we see some top guys locked up. I'm pumped to follow the DSL guys who have been promoted, the young guys like Pierce, Rivera, Walla, Allison and recent draftees such as Dowell, Harris, Pierce but overall disappointed that we have no Bradley, Lopez, Gagnon, Ramirez, Reed, Keller, Houle, Goforth, Toledo, Smith and etc. Usually the Brewers are right on this and lock up most of the first 20 pretty quick, this I give them a big F in that department. Looking around I don't think there is another team in baseball who has yet to sign at least 1 top 8 pick. Still very early but ugh lol
  17. Oh well, more money for Rodon. Sure he sounds like he is a decent prospect but not a guy i feel is a must have, over slot guy.
  18. Well Hurricane Iribarren has lonsystem but i think I heard a forcast that Hurricane Arcia is on its way and about to hit the Brewers farm system!
  19. Seems really quite on the signing front so far. Wonder if they are planning to release a bunch of names at once because I believe I read as early as Thursday that they had many of there top 10 signed or close to having them signed. It seems like in past years we would have heard more than 3 names by now.
  20. New top 10 prospect? ......I think so! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Man, Seid is just ozzing over Ozuna! Love it!
  21. Since Paul asked a simple, harmless question and the thought of this trend having to be locked up is obsurd, I'll contribute: Here is an early look at the top 200 prospects in the 2012 draft. http://allamericanfoundat...tion/news/mlb-2012-draft http://mlb.mlb.com/news/a...ey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb As you will notice on almost all list, former Brewer 26th rd pick Lex Ruthledge (believe Sessile interviewed few years back) made a ton of money by deciding to go to Samford. He is now one of the top pitchers in baseball and a top 15 prospect as of right now. Also as most of us have seen, our former 38th round pick is now the Ace of ASU and a 1st-2nd round pick, Brady Rogers. Kyle Hanson, 40th rd pick looks to be a 2-3 maybe a sandwich pick. Mark Appel, RHP, Stanford, Matt Purke, RHP, TCU and Lance McCullers, RHP, Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla appear to be heading the race for number one. Sorry Paul for all the crap over the question. Also this draft doesnt have that major of an impact unless all these high schoolers back out of there scholarships and go to JUCO. Many juniors don't like not signing if picked high, stock usually wont improve much and now they are just a year older. Redshirt sophomore however can have an impact. Never to early to look to the future however it is always to early to predict the future, think we all know that.
  22. Well looking at this with the glass half full, thats more money to spend on Rodon and McFarland. Rodon is huge signing for us if we can pull it off.
  23. Because I for some odd, strange reason believe the rookie ball coaches will go over the importance of all that stuff and personally work with him on it, I suggest Josh does what he normally does as a experienced and professional baseball agent. Tell him congrats, enjoy this moment, and get ready to work hard to make your dreams come true. I hardly doubt Jalen is coming into this say I hate defense and to walk walk, all I want to do is hit homeruns. Congrats Josh to you and Jalen! Hope it works out for the best and thanks for posting!
