  1. I have read everyone of these Player Profiles and all Jeff Isom's scouting reports and all I can say is wow. Isom all season has told everything as it is and to hear him talk this highly of Richardson just gives me so much more hope in him as a prospect. Let's hope D-Rich can put it all together sooner than later.
  2. Maybe the next Javon Walker! Edit: Nevermind ha he will no longer be playing WR but be moving over to Safety
  3. Well I guess you can't be two disappointed with 2 of our top 3 pitchers are being compared most to Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum.... I could deal with that outcome http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Rowan Wick OF 19th round Can't go wrong taking a young Canadian Bat...Has hit wood bats whole life. Batting practice
  5. John Bivens is an intesting prospect, Three Sport Star in High School to go on to being a 2 Sport college athlete at Virginia. Played Linebacker for the football team. Appears to be a extremely gifted athlete which the Brewers like. For some reason he transfered to Virginia St. and decided to focus on baseball. A workout video of Bivins High School Football video http://rivals.yahoo.com/v...Bivens-Prince-Geor-23772 Virgina St. Sports Home page..... Trojan drafted in 12th round by Milwaukee Bruins? wow.... http://www.vsu.edu/pages/102.asp Stats http://150.174.33.55/~jju...ll/10season/teamcume.htm
  6. wow another college player in the 14th now 11 of 14 picks have been college kids...not much youth being added thus far
  7. Well they took a Walter State prospect in the 13th round ( RHP Mike White) to bad it wasn't the one I have have been watching for, former Fond du Lac standout who lead Walters State nearly every hitting category. White was 8-0 with a 2.14 ERA in 80 IP racking up a 84/35 K/BB he was so is 6'6
  8. lol nothing wrong with that, he has incredible taste in food...I could live off boneless Buffalo Wings and often do ha...I'm more worried about how bad he did while he was at Michigan .... hope he turns it around
  9. Yeah I mentioned that after his first outting how even though he got hit it was great to see him not walk anyone, and it is even better that he has done it back to back! Hope it continues. I am a huge fan of this DSL team and it is one of my favorite box scores to look at everyday. Possible the new Hurricane Yorki Hernandez has been hitting extremely well (3 multi hit games out of 7 and 9 BB's) and Andres Martinez has had multiple hits in 4 of 6 games, also 4 BB already (6 of his 7 k's came in the two games he went hitless) Plus I think he grow and filled out some more now listed at 6'2 190. That is not bad for a 18 year old, hopefully the power comes soon. Arias is hitting (out of 8 hits 1 double 1 hr 2 triples), Pena is starting to get goin, but Garcia is struggling a bit to start. Pitching has been not so bad but its early all I know is they need to beef Montano up a bit.., listed as 6'7 170, that is a langthy, skiny kid.
  10. See I thought last season he was at 85 max also, there was one game I remember that he had i believe a no hitter through 5 and they had to pull him because he was around 85. I could be wrong though. I understand the reasoning behind it and it is smart but it would be nice to see how he does for a real non-restrict start.
  11. My fingers are just crossed they don't baby him like they did with Odorizzi. I'm really excited about the pick as of right now and hope the next move is draft Allie or Cole if they are still sitting there. My hope is one of them will still be on the board and I don't see the brewers being scared to pay up. If the "BPA" approach is true and one of those two are there that without a doubt needs to be the pick. I have a feeling that somewhere in this draft maybe in the top 10 rounds(? not sure where scouts have him) the Brewers are going to Draft Cory Vaughn. With how they like there bloodlines and having inviteed him to the pre-draft workout it just seems to make sense. Plus when I was way young Greg Vaughn was my first ever favorite Brewer. The younger Vaughn is has a nice 6'3 225 frame and is a hammer at the plate. From the clips I have seen I'd compare him to a bigger Khris Davis, but that is limited view so maybe Colby could shine some more light on him
  12. If Allie or Cole are still there, pull the trigger and show them the money! Both of these kids are sure 1st rounders right now and could be top 5 -10 picks in 2013. I say it would be worth the money to lock them up even if that means he have to sign a few less 20-50 round picks. A wave of Covey & Allie or Covey & Cole would be incredible....It would be what the Rogers and Gallardo was meant to be. Plus remember Seid was the magic man last year with signing players who were consider tougher signings such as Davis, Richardson, Del Howell, Gennett (maybe the toughest), McKelvie and a few more. Signed all of there top 20 round picks (total of like 23). Jacobbi " Baby Prince" McDaniels was the only one they really failed at. Rutledge maybe.
  13. Lol thats why he doesn't really involve himself with the draft, I'd be willing to bet he had never even really seen video on Covey before today. I can't stress it enough that GM's have very little to do with the draft because they are busy enough with all there stuff going on. Thats why great scouting directors like Jack Z and Seid are extremely important. Unless you have a top pick and have a Young Vs. Weeks or a Taillion vs. Machado type of pick then they will be more involved but outside that, not really.
  14. I really don't think Doug has much to do with the signing process except setting up the budget for how much Seid can spend, I believe the scout who finds you is the one that signs you along with the help of Seid and his cross-checkers. So whoever is was the southern Cali scout who has talked to Covey is pretty much the middleman in the negiotiations between player and Seid. Yeah that list is not to pretty but still figure that 2 of those could have a nice impact on the team in the next year or 2 (Rogers and Jeffress) and maybe even Jones out of the pen. I really think it is a crap shout eighter way, high school or college pitcher. People can talk about how much more high school pitchers fail or get injuried but that is actually untrue, the number is numbers are much closer than people think. The one advantage though is if a high schooler does get injuried he is still is young enough to bounce back and be a prospect. It would be a big difference if Rogers was 27 instead of 24 or Jones 30 instead of 27 on the way the Brewers would have handle their injuries and future with the ball club. I'm excited for him to sign and hope they get in done quick.
  15. Damn there goes Luke Jackson and Nick Castellanos
  16. To scared to jinx it but still a bunch of really good players on the board
  17. Yeah I read that earlier and this is the part that stood out most for me: I loved the way that sounded, hope he signs soon
  18. Angels with a great pick, I was hoping Bedrosian would drop to us in the second... Little off topic but I think the Brewers need to draft Hazel Mae, nothing against Tully but I think she'd bring some much need sizzle to the Crew!
  19. I know they are being safe but I wish one of these game Rogers could go over 85 pitches or 5 innings
  20. I agree they can't let him sit out all summer like Brooks Hall did last summer and needs to be signed ASAP! As for velocity I read a scouting report from his last regular season start and it said he was getting strong as the game progressed and hit 95 3x in the 6th inning... that was from like May 17 or something so if that is dropping I'll still take it lol
  21. I read somewhere awhile back he compares and is one of the best Illinois pitchers since Jake Odorizzi...That got me pretty interested in him. But from what you just wrote I'd say he throws a little bit harder than Jake
  22. See that is the totally wrong way to think about it. We went last year with college pitchers and they are both still in low class A. Just because they are college pitchers doesn't mean that they will improve the staff this year or next year or even the year after that. You have to take the player you feel will become the best player. Gallardo moved up much faster than most of your college prospect do... it matter more on the talent than the age. Lets just hope he is more like Yo and the Brewers don't take BS approach they have taken with Odorizzi (In his 3rd year and is still only in low A.)
  23. I kind of like the pick, a lot more than I liked the Arnett pick the last year (was never a fan). I'm not worried about signability at all with him. Brewers are one of the top teams at getting players signed, last year Davis was said to be one of the hardest players to get signed but they got it done. I just hope he doesn't waste time like Hall did. He needs to get in and get started asap!
  24. His past is actually not that bad, this year was his first kinda big injury and he recovered pretty quick to come really strong at the end of the season...Right now I'd love him or Sale because out of the pitchers left they prob have the highest ceiling
