  1. Villy or "the Stache " Axford.
  2. Did I miss the news somewhere about Mike Jones being bumped up to Nashville? When did that happened?
  3. I'm not too worried about it, he will get a decent amount of time and it should be a short stay. It is not like George Kotteras is absolutely tearing it up right now. last year with Gamel, They had Billy Hall there and McGehee was really getting into a groove.
  4. Yestersay BA mentioned that Axford is the only pitcher that Macha said he was considering to slide into the closer spot til Hoffman (if he does) make it make to regain his spot. To me that shows they are high on him plus he is on the mound again today pitching well...like the two previous post I don't see him being the one going down.
  5. In a way it is kind of nice that the Brewers are off to such a bad start because every year it seems like they start hot get really cold after the all-star break. Hopefully it will be the other way around this season. I think a lot needs to be changed if they have any hope at making any type of run though. Macha doesn't have the respect of the players the way Dale and Willie do and he also doesn't stand up for his players the way Yost did. Those are small but big things. Coming into the job everyone knew about Macha and how the reason the A's got rid of him was because he could not connect with the younger players at all and when you have as many young guys as the Brewers do, that is extremely big problem. IMO I thought Willie should have never been fired from the Mets and if he was with any other team outside of New York he wouldn't have gotten the boot. Personally I thought he was a great manager. Not only does he connect with the players but he really works with them to get better. There is no doubt in my mind that the Brewers would improve from replacing Macha wit Randolph. Dream situation, Macha fired, Willie promote,d Dale to Bench coach (or stay hitting coach) with Yount moving into which ever one Dale doesn't do (they are best friends and he likes Milwaukee, have to think he'd be open for it.) I know we all complained about Ned but I actual really miss him. It was annoying how no matter what a player did wrong, he would take 100% of the blame but that is actually a really good thing. He connected with the players, he did his best to get them to a winning team, was patient and knew how to work with the young guys, and overall was a good manager. Of course he made mistakes but compared to Macha..... ughhhh Yost was a god. Plus Yost wouldn't have destroyed Gamel eighter or given up on Parra so bad that he was the 7th or 8th choice to start a game when he without a doubt has the 2nd best stuff of any pitcher on the team.
  6. Lol a few people actually just started a facebook group over this with my sister (saying ban her from miller park) because she is 0-5 with every game being an absolute pounding of the Crew. I am personally lucky to be 2-0 and half of their victories.....sad thing is 2 victories is half of the season total right now, that is just horrendous.
  7. Dykstra at first base today, interesting to see guess they just wanted to get him on the field. I have a hard time tryng to figure out where he could fit, second base is decently jammed, I don't see him playing short, the outfield didn't panned out and I don't see the power coming enought to play 3rd....I'm curious to see what happens, happy that he back on track and playing well again.
  8. Your ignorence on this subject leaves me speechless for every comment you write about Jeffress. You are a broken record. Yes, we can tell you are a leader in the above the influence campaign and think anyone who touches is a drug is per worthless but that really is not the case. I believe Tim Licecum is doing pretty good for himself and he is a burnout...Michael Phelps aso has quit a few gold medals and also smokes. I personally don't smoke nor do i advocate it but I am not ignorant to sit here and say he is not a prospect, he is a low life, he can't amount to anything in his life and all the other crap you say about the kid... it is ridiculous. There have been players who were into more serious drugs than Jeffress and have had amazing careers. I have all the confidence in the world in Jeffress to come back and perform
  9. Dumbfounded on two accounts (agree with the third). The thought of Lawrie being our future first baseman had me puke a bit in my mouth. And not to knock Gamel because he is a good athlete but Lawrie is 100% the better athlete out of the two. I hate eighter option at first, Gamel should be moved to RF because he has no shot to play over Casey but he def has a chance over Hart/Edmonds
  10. He is too talented to let him be banned from baseball. Once he is on the 40 man roster he could be like Lincecum and get high everyday and not have to worry about it. So if the Brewers don't want to risk losing a young kid who pumps his fastball up into triple digits its a smart move. Agent39 has said he has cleaned up and is focused on baseball but you never know, it only takes one slip up and his career is officially over.
  11. I liked Sutton. He was really enthusiastic during games. BA is a good play by play and I have no complaints but he is really even keel. To me it just seemed better watching a homerun listening to Sutton call it than Anderson. Personal opinion though. Big factor is I miss the buckethead's, sad day when the brewers put that to a end
  12. Yeah I hope he gets it figured out soon.... At least the Brewers make up for everyone else
  13. He had the chance this past year to go back to football but he chose baseball turning down the Javon Walker path.
  14. It always sucks when they pull a pitcher during a no-hitter. Even in Low A ball it is a special moment of them. I understand though with the extremely strick minor league pitch counts theses days, but its still a bumber
  15. Lol I biffed that already. I can't wait to get up their to see him pitch. Heck any night you go down their you are pretty well set to see a good pitching prospect. Rttlers have a phenominal staff this season. I liked it last year but didn't have the depth that this pitching staff does. Arnett, Heckathorn, Odorizzi, Bucci, Lasker, Howell are all or on their way to be big pitching prospects for our club then it also has Nieves, Krestalude, Burgos, Lamontagne, Robinson, Porkorny, and Theilbar. How about Fiers again tonight?! Guy is rolling.
  16. Yes! It's Maverick Lasker's night! Not sure if it is because of his name or what but I have been a big fan since he has been drafted.
  17. Man Trevor is not looking good and the excuse that he didn't pitch enough in spring training in game situation doesn't really work because last yearf he didn't and the years before that with the Padres I believe he didn't throw to much. McGehee!!!!!! That a boy!!!!
  18. How can a major league pitcher get knocked around like this by mostly 19 and 20 year old kids? I don't want to hear any 'rust' excuses either, he's been pitching all spring.Agreed he just pitched a 90 pitch simulated game 5 days ago and pitched 4 or 5 games right before that in which he was beat up the same way but the Brewers have decided because they owe him money it doesn't matter how bad he is, he is their man. That walk off in the first game seems to have gotten Scooter going, he is now 2-2 with a double. Bucci 3.0IP 1H 2K's but 5 BB's..a little disappointing but i'm confident he will bounce back.
  19. So what do ya'll think happens once Josh Prince is back from injury? With Brewer now repeating A+ for the third time do you feel they move him up to AA if he starts to hit or do they push Prince to AA? It seems like the Crew still want Brewer at SS so it is hard for me to see both those two switching off between SS/DH ( My guess at least 75% Prince) I like Wheeler and think he is a pretty good utility player but not an every day SS. Just something that is kinda bugging me. Nice to see Soup get hit around by a bunch of low A players, not losing a step from getting pounded during spring training. He continues to prove why he needs to be the Brewers number 5 over Narveson and Parra, ughhh.... On the plus side good game for Paciorek, he is a guy I have been wondering about and if he could develop into a decent prospect. Congrats to D'Vontrey and Scooter one their first professional hits!!! Peralta I am sorry that I consistantly think of you as a future RP or closer, you continue to prove me wrong,(Don't think I'll get to see my dream of Peralta in the 8th with Braddock in the 9th) Great outting! Wasn't their talk about Kentrail moving to a corner outfield spot after he was drafted? Anyway great to see him start out really well.
  20. I'm kind of surprised that Huntsville has Wheeler as there everyday SS
  21. For some reason I just kept thinking about Lawrie when Marseco was talking about the "individualism" in last years club.
  22. Biggest difference between Suppan and Parra is Parra has awesome stuff when he is on, Suppan has average stuff when he is on. You will almost never hear someone say "man, Soup was electric last night!" or "wow, Soup's stuff was incredible last night" The best you will get is Suppan pitched good or okay last night. His stuff was alright, enough to win. With Parra if he gets in a groove he is electric and an extremely high potential pitcher and 2 season ago he showed that before he hit his wall at the end. I have read many times people note about how Suppan will give us 6 innings a game but in reality those are not quality 6 innings. Usually those outtings include 4-6 runs given up forcing the offense to have to press just to stay in the game. I personally prefer them to bite the bullet with him and cut him but if anything he should be the long reliever. He gets limited outings and if a guy struggles he can come in a pitch some innings. I see no reason for him to have to start just because of money. That is a horrible way to run a team and you have to take the best option and he is the 3rd best. He has no upside, let one of the two who do pitch and if they can't get it done then go to him as your last resort. Not to mention how much the fans are against it. You don't to have a pitcher ho will get a better, more warming reception at other parks than at home. I have a feeling he will be facing a lot of boo birds
  23. Bunting Fielder over to 3B is easier said than done. He isn't that slow, figure he is going to get a decent lead off second. If Zaun is batting Lefty if he puts a decent bunt down the first base line that is a tough out. Yes easier said than done but I think it is the smart decision in that situation
  24. Wolf 6.2 IP 9 hits 4 ER 0BB 8K's By no means has me jumping up or done but not bad for the first start. As crewcrazy said, sluggish towards the end but have to figure it is the first start and he in Spring training he didn't get many chance to be stretched out in games. He worked into the 7th and kept us in it so I consider a nice start for him. Not great but good
  25. Once again I can't figure out why Zaun isn't bunting with 2 on 0 outs.... Macha, small, smart baseball! move Fielder and McGehee over into scoring position and take the out let Hart or Escobar try to score them!
