  1. Nice! Next on the agenda, imo, make these games not so late. I realize its normal time for the west coast but thats not much consolation to everyone else.
  2. Well, that killed my bracket and i dont even care lol.
  3. I think it would depend. If we lost to the DR and PR beat Ven, it would still create a 3 way tie so we would need to win tiebreakers or a tiebreaker game.
  4. Wisconsins performance and low seed put a damper on this years tourny for me. I just quickly threw something together and have nova beating i think ucla.
  5. What a complete and ugly second half egg they laid.
  6. DR has scored 5 in the 11th now. So looks like we should just need to win assuming they can hold the lead.
  7. How is your Spanish? Nonexistant. Though i would have watched it if i got the channel. Guess mlb doesnt much care about people being able to view their product,
  8. Are mlb network and mlb.tv the only way to watch games? I have neither and am hoping to catch some of the games.
  9. If milwaukee makes it, i dont see how that would make them a laughing stock. The league maybe. Though whatever embarrassment they might feel would probably be offset by the extra press and probably some increased viewership. Milwaukees run is exactly what people like about march madness. Not to mention the money these tournys have to generate for the league and the exposure since it might be the only games most people watch of their conferences all year.
  10. One thing i havent seen mentioned was atlantas poor performance in the last minute. The decision to bring the kickoff out started a pretty poor attempt at a game winning drive. [sarcasm]Rodgers would have driven them down for 2 game winning field goals in that amount of time.[/sarcasm]
  11. Does morgan freeman hate hearing the sound of his own voice or does he also get lost in the sweet soothing sound of morgan freeman?
  12. If they did that then they would also have to ban them from signing free agents that were tendered, or whatever its called, otherwise they could just go nuts having already lost their top whatever picks.
  13. Looking ahead at our probable playoff road if we win the north, hows this potential juggernaut of exercising some playoff demons? Giants at home, at dallas and at seattle. Shudder. If we face that and win the superbowl we will have earned it more than any other team in history imo.
  14. I would like to take this opportunity to talk about LeBron James' shirt. Who is he trying to kid? Cleveland or nowhere, but only after youve gone to Miami to win a couple titles.
  15. Ok Cleveland, i like your proposal so far. Keep going.
  16. If they are receiving revenue sharing because of their stadium, maybe the league should have just put it into a bank account every year and then they could have had enough money for a new stadium by now. Maybe all leagues should do this for all teams either with a general fund they use to build stadiums when teams need them or an individual fund for each team that they can draw on for upgrades or entirely new stadiums.
  17. Blowing this lead right now. Cubs fans have to be all excited they're going to force a game 7. Losing this lead with just crush them.
  18. This is truely diabolical.
  19. He must have been lower than 798 going in. I didn't even look. 798 was going into saturdays game where he went 0-4 with a bb. Im not sure where it ended up after that game.
  20. Yes most replays are straight forward and im not saying they need to explain every replay with a "the defender tagged the runner before he reached the base" type explaination. I dont know if explaination would be enough anyway. Most baseball plays its also pretty obvious what the replay official ultimately thought, missed a tag or made a tag or whatever, but its more what did they see to make them think that did or did not happen. Some of these calls make me think some of these officials need to be taught what indisputable means. I dont know if there is a good solution, there most likely wont be a solution that makes everyone happy, but the best i can think of is that they should release a screen shot that shows the "indisputable evidence" with an explaination of what it shows. I mean, if its indisputable you should be able to easily defend your position right? Probably would only have to do this for overturned calls since thise are the ones you need to see something to make. As an example, the last one I saw and remember, a week or so ago, in Pittsburgh, late in the game braun is called safe on a pick off attempt and pitt challenges. Its a close play. It looks like when the tag is made brauns fingers are over the bag, but not on the bag. However its possible his palm has hit the bag and his fingers have just not closed on the bag yet. I believe i saw some movement in the bag that may have coincided with that as the tag is being made. He might have been out but he was ruled safe and there was nothing on video that definitively showed him being tagged and his palm not on the bag. I guess i would just be happy to know that someone is reviewing the reviews with the officials and making sure that they arent making calls without the proof to back them up.
  21. Thats one thing the nfl got right, for the most part. If they see something that changes the call or even confirms it most refs will describe the action they saw that does it otherwise they say call stands which everyone knows mean we didnt see anything one way or the other. With baseball all you get is the decision. I dont get to watch the games much and even in those few games thereve been times where a call comes out that makes you go "what!?"going both ways, that there needs to be at least a little more transparency in the decision.
  22. I went back and looked and I believe the "myth" popped up from our 2013 finish. Its not necessarily from the entire month of september, but from the last 8 games where we went 6-2. Before those last 8 games were were in the 7th spot 1 game from 6th and 3 from a 3 way tie with 4th(though both the cubs and twins only won 1 more game so we had no shot at those spots). We were about 2-3 games ahead of 6 teams with 70-72 wins(we had 68 at the time). In those 8 games we had 1 against the cards, then 3 against the braves and 4 against the mets. The cards and braves were the top 2 teams in the NL that year and the mets were one of the teams a few games above us. We beat the cards then took 2 of 3 from the braves and 3 of 4 against the mets. Which dropped us into a 4 way tie for 8th and since we had the best record the previous team of those 4 teams ended up 11th in the standings and picked 12th because toronto received the 11th for failing to sign their previous years draft pick. 4 wins would have had us 7th and 2 6th. So basically winning 6 instead of 4 those last 8 games cost us 5 slots in the draft. For those of us who dont care about wins in a lost season, every september win is agonizing because of what damage just a few "meaningless" wins can do to your draft standing. If they lose 1 more they would have picked 8th(tied with Philly, but lose tiebreaker) so 4 spots. Oops, see now youre talking about 2015, but this is correct for 2013.
  23. [sarcasm]I think weve just found out the new best defensive strategy. Dont go after the ball and umps will stop the play because they dont want runners to run when nobodys going for the ball![/sarcasm]
