  1. Yes. He should. When we are ahead in the 7th / 8th inning. Weeks should be replaced by Scooter, Herrera should be replaced Jean, and Davis should be replaced by Gerardo. In this game, Weeks isn't playing and Parra is already in for Braun.
  2. Wow Mike. Brewers talking about pushing Lohse next start back. With the 2 off days and how well Fiers has pitched. We have Nelson, Gallardo, Peralta lined up vs dodgers. I would then do Fiers on Tuesday vs Blue Jays. And then Gallardo on Wednesday vs the Jays. Then Lohse return on Friday vs the Pirates.
  3. There we go. Tigers up 5-0 over Pirates in the Bottom of the 8th.
  4. I agree. He should play more but unfortunately a "platoon" in the traditional sense wouldn't work as they both hit RHP better than LHP Segura vs RHP: .252 .272 .354 .625 Herrera vs RHP: .293 .316 .360 .676 Segura vs LHP: .169 .245 .191 .436 Herrera vs LHP: .222 .222 .222 .444 Part of me wants to see Herrera to try hitting lefties from the left handed side and see how it goes. He isn't really getting it done switching sides.
  5. I wonder if our barren AAA club has any more useful guys. Way to go Fiers!
  6. I was told there would be no math. lol
  7. If you are going to be negative and remove our best stretch, lets remove the worst stretch of games too. June 30th through July 12th, we were 1 and 11. So in those 94 games that we went 46 -48, lets deduct our 1-11 stretch from it. By doing so we were 45-37. So 8 games over .500 through the other 82 games. As others have said, don't be so negative. The Brewers had 1 really bad stretch, a whole lot of slightly better than average stretches and 1 really great stretch. We have 1.5 months left, plenty of time for us to kick it into full gear again. It's a marathon not a sprint. Baseball isn't for the faint at heart / the what have you done for me lately bunch. It is for those who can navigate a marathon. On a side note, if you take .162 x 162 = 26.2. (The length in miles of a marathon) ... So we are on mile number 19 in our marathon. (121 games x .162) ... Lots of time left to put in some good miles. Go Brewers!!!
  8. I like the lineup. We need to get healthy. After the dodgers series we have 2 off days over 4 days. Let's get it going guys!
  9. I am on board with what you are saying - I have just given up on the haters. Scooter must have kicked their dog or something.
  10. Braun needs to sit. I would rather see parra until Braun gets healthy
  11. RISP : Braun: .295 .343 .580 .923 Gomez: .336 .405 .495 .900 Lucroy: 263 .330 .394 .724
  12. His last 28 days has this line: .228 / .290 / .402 / .692 If his season line of .282 / .334 / .488 / .822 ended today, it would be his worst slash line of his career. I would say there is some cause for concern and not just typical flow of a season.
  13. The best part is you could take all of these players from the Yankee's and they would still be OVER the $160 mil cap [pre]David Robertson RP $5,215,000 Alfonso Soriano RF $5,000,000 Alex Rodriguez DNP $3,868,852 Matt Thornton RP $3,500,000 Ivan Nova SP $3,300,000 Kelly Johnson 3B $3,000,000 Vernon Wells DNP $2,400,000 Brian Roberts 2B $2,000,000 Brendan Ryan SS $2,000,000 Shawn Kelley RP $1,765,000 Francisco Cervelli C $700,000 David Phelps SP $541,425 Michael Pineda SP $538,475 Adam Warren RP $527,400 Vidal Nuno SP $504,500 Dellin Betances RP $502,100 Dean Anna SS $500,000[/pre]
  14. I liked that one too I didn't want to overreach on our Fan Forum Eitquette. Clearly that ban doesn't exist on the Cardinals forum though
  15. Just to liven up the bunch here ... some posts I pulled off of a Cardinals fan site from their in game thread the other day with their "Ace" on the mound: Before the game: 1. We should be able to tag Cosart tonight. I'm chalking this one up as a W with Waino on the mound. 2. We're shuffling. Time for a W(ainwright) Last fast forward to in game comments 1. At this point it's not so much painful as slightly comical, so there's that at least. 2. Adams' swing is loopy and he can't hit fastballs. 3. I can't find this level of suck funny. A lot more suckage I might deem chortle worthy. But just floundering a few games over 500 is just maddening. 4. Again making a 4 or 5 starter look like Cy Young 5. Well there's always next year 6. I [expletive] hate baseball sometimes. 7. This is the difficult time, which I haven't faced as a Cards fan in a few years, in which I have to adjust my perennial expectations of playoff glory to face the reality that we're not likely a playoff team. I don't like it, I don't want to, but it's time to own up to it. 8. I expected us to make a run by now. It's mid-August now, so yeah. Not looking good. 9. Loosers 10. Gross. The Pierzynski Year, as this will forever be known, isn't going to be remembered fondly. Remember those two great wins last week? Seems like decades ago. Since, our only two deadline acquisitions--both pitchers--have been hammered and we've been stymied by guys whose own mothers have never heard of them.
  16. Nice lcbj. I think the poster was thinking higher level action items. But I like your level of thinking. New Twitter handle is key. In no particular order here are some thoughts I have: 1. Salary cap - I am on the side of the fence that this is completely out of whack. I like the football model. And to me, it would be easy for Baseball to take back all the ownership of the TV deals and work out their own TV deals. Yes Turner sports, and YES would have to buy the rights to their own baseball team but that is the right way to do it. How much money would Packers TV make if they had all Packers games aired on this new channel? They need to fix this. It should all go into 1 pot, and then divided 30 ways. (However, there are other implications like requiring teams to spend X % of that pot. Like in the NFL, they are required to spend 80% of shared revenue.) 2. PED's - Someone gets busted you should be able to terminate their deal. Or require all deals get mandatory "out" clauses if they get suspended. 3. Intl FA's - They need to continue to refine this. Maybe the recent changes they made are the right changes but guys like Puig, chapman, darvish - the Brewers have no shot at. They can only sign guys like Lara at 16 years old. 4. Loosing draft pick for signing guy. They need to figure something out. Having a guy like Morales sit for 5 months (Feb - June) isn't good. Something should change here. 5. The DH - Now before I get banned from BF.net. I have been against the DH for, well basically always. Until somewhat recently where someone said: "Name another sport where players get put into situations that are the furthest from their best skill set and ultimately why they are on this grand stage. It would be like requiring your starting QB to kick all PAT's." Ok. Well yes, if you put it that way, that sounds silly. So should the hitting pitcher go to the wayside? Should the NL have a DH? I don't know. Their are times when the Brewers have bases loaded and the pitcher is walking up where I would love to see someone else walking to the plate.
  17. I am not sure what Braun needs. Some days off? A change in the order? Something. We need Braun to heat up
  18. Ya. Like go to Nashville. I know that's harsh. His D is good. But he is just atrocious at the plate
  19. Lol. Someone will win this one. One way or the other.
