  1. Can we replace him with someone? Here is a good post from tonight's IGT: He leads the team with opponents hitting .295 off of him. He has the second worst FIP on the team. Can't we just bring someone up to replace him? Maybe Fiers for the start Sat as Marco pitched today?
  2. Bases loaded and no outs. And they get 1 ... Hopefully they can win
  3. I am pretty much done going to Gallardo games. They always go 4 hours.
  4. That wasn't a fly - that was a rope. Had their CF positioned perfectly
  5. At the game - wow - they had Jean played perfectly. CF ended up catching that easy
  6. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/NL/2014-misc.shtml 5th total and per game at 33,421 Thanks trwi and topper!
  7. That whole play was a cluster. I am here and many in the first base loge was yelling throw to first ... Jeez Jean!!
  8. Anyone have a link to total attendance this year? Yesterday there was over 40,000 at the game. Hopefully another large crowd tonight and the rest of the home stand. Go Brewers! Let's go Yo!
  9. The more I think about it and the more I read the comments, I think this could work out. I do find it funny that of our 3 young players (Davis, Gennett, and Segura), Jean is the only one not in a platoon. (And he is the worst one offensively) ... And a lot is made of our 1B production but SS has been worse
  10. What if they throw money our way? (Edit - Then I remember you can't in August trades.) Segura's splits: vs RHP: .250 .270 .357 .628 vs LHP : .167 .247 .190 .438 Rollins: vs RHP: .245 .324 .420 .744 vs LHP: .223 .298 .330 .629 They both hit RHP better than left handed.
  11. Per MLBTR http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/08/placed-on-revocable-waivers-monday.html Anyone have interest? I understand Segura is our starting SS for years to come. But we are in a pennant race and he is hitting: .232 / .265 / .321 / .587 Jimmy's line isn't amazing but he has an OPS that is 130 points higher: .239 / .317 / .397 / .714 He is making $11 million this year and next year. The 2015 option is guaranteed at $11M with 1) 600 plate appearances in 2014 or 2) 1,100 PAs in 2013-14 and Rollins is not on disabled list at end of 2014 season (or if he is on the DL, a mutually agreed upon doctor deems him available for 2015 Opening Day roster)
  12. I like the thought of replacing Ramirez with another good hitter. (Panda bears line .295 / .348 / .470 / .818) ... but I don't see anything that says the Giants won't be giving him a large deal like Zimmerman's 6 year $100 deal. Look at the $16-17 million per year that Zimmerman, Longoria, Wright, Beltre are making. He will get a comparable deal. That won't be good for the Brewers.
  13. Ya it is ... Pirates lost though (but they have a very hard August schedule IMO)
  14. Good update Torts! you have the pulse on the Pirates being the local Pittsburgh poster ... Sounds like the Pirates are a hot mess
  15. I figured a central post for the final two months might be a good idea so we can chat about happenings with the other teams in the race. First item I will toss out there is McCutchen is headed to 15 day DL. @ESPNStatsInfo: Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen likely headed to disabled list. Since June 1, he leads NL in batting average, slugging percentage, RBIs Upcoming series Boston at St. Louis St. Louis at Baltimore Go AL East! Miami at Pittsburgh Padres at Pittsburgh Indians are playing the Reds in an all Ohio battle Miami at Cincinnati
