  1. and I should say, grounding out to short on a pitch that was a clear ball low & outside
  2. Gomez doing what he does best swing at 3 pitches out of the zone and grounding out to short.
  3. Gomez is currently on a streak of 6 straight K's dating back to Monday. 1 on Monday, 4 yesterday, 1 today. Ouch
  4. Gameday agree's with you - except on that strike 3 call on Davis. Gameday shows a tick inside.
  5. A walk to Weeks ... Glad to see someone take some pitches. That is one thing that Rickie is very good at
  6. Why isn't Duke our 8th inning man one might ask RRR tonight
  7. Let's go Smith - work your way out without giving up runs
  8. I have been thinking the same thing. It's going to be impossible to stay ahead scoring 1 run a game. Well said to you both - I have thought the same. We need a guy who can actually get on base without swinging at the first pitch.
  9. @AdamMcCalvy: RR says Carlos Gomez tweaked his back a few days ago but is OK now. Just felt it was a good day to get him off his feet as DH.
  10. Hope Garza is dealing today - need our Offense to bust out
  11. Trading Jimmy Nelson is just idiotic in my opinion. Come playoff time you only need 3.5 starters. I say .5 because, sure your 4th starter will get 1 start in a 7 game series. 1. So lets trade 6 years of Jimmy Nelson for a guy who may not be better than our top 3 anyhow?
  12. Odorizzi reminded Brewers fans the flip side to trading a top arm (like we would be in Nelson) for a 1.5 year rental in Greinke (like if we traded for Price) Now I know we went to the NLCS and flipped Greinke for a nice haul but that isn't always the case
  13. Date: July 22nd vs Reds @ Miller Park MLB.com game recap : http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/mil/mlb-notebook-jonathan-lucroy-powers-brewers-past-reds?ymd=20140723&content_id=85898182&vkey=news_mlb Video: http://m.mlb.com/mil/video/topic/8877974/v34734065/72214-lucroys-walkoff-homer-lifts-crew-over-reds IGT: viewtopic.php?p=907011#p907011 Summary : 1. Brewers get homeruns from Braun, Ramirez and Lucroy to take a 3-1 lead into the 7th. 2. After giving up 2 singles to lead off the 7th; Nelson gets hosed on a call where the ump rules a pitch that went off of Frazier's bat and then hit his hand as a HBP. Replay upholds bad call. Reds proceed to score 2 runs that inning to tie it up at 3-3. 3. On the 3rd pitch Lucroy hits a walk off home run to left field off LeCure 4. Uecker's call on Lucroy's HR becomes an instant classic. Listen to it in the MLB recap link above (About midway mark of video.)
  14. Glad the sky is not falling anymore. Keep the pedal down vs the Mets. After them we enter a 1 month stretch where the only team we play that doesn't have a shot at the playoffs is the 4 gamer at Chicago.
  15. Great game fella's! I will be there tomorrow - let's keep it rolling! Best record in the NL on July 25 - you said it well Brew4U - someone pinch me. This is great
  16. If we traded for Napoli - that - would - be - awesome! He bats what, 6th? That is one potent lineup. Starting pitching looks great (Nelson addition is huge). Our bullpen looks like it is primed for success (Jeffress addition is huge) ... I am very intrigued by what Boston would want for Napoli.
  17. I would change the thread to Brewers scouting the Red Sox? I certainly hope they are not looking at Peavy. But I do hope they were scouting Napoli (Hey - one can dream) ... he only has 1 year left on his contract after this year. IMO, it isn't to farfetched they would look at him and his .279 / .395 / .456 / .851 line. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/n/napolmi01.shtml What would be a realistic trade? (Not including Nelson in it) to get him? We could trade our competitive balance pick we just got + Taylor? Just tossing it out there.
  18. Was at the game ... Jeffress throws a high 90 with a very easy delivery ... His last pitch was the one that hit 100 (we all wanted it) ... Great game. Great series. Thanks Reds.
