  1. Almost another HR ... when does Estrada come in? Make the change rr
  2. Robin's 3,000th 2nd would be the 2008 clinch game vs cubs
  3. Just heard that during the phills, cards game a squirrel ran onto the field, in front of home plate, when Roy Oswalt was pitching. He threw a ball. LaRussa may complain about the brewers fans and our "lighting" problem ..but at least we're not throwing wild animals at home plate!! Anyhow, back to the important item on hand ... Let's go get game 4 - Go Brewers!!
  4. It's a good strategy in playoffs to pitch your best pitchers. I would be good with Greinke throwing a few innings today as it is his bullpen session anyhow. Just have him throw a session tomorrow if you don't need him. Whatever it takes to win. And I am alright with Wolf starting today, just have a quick hook. Marcum should have been pulled before the Grand Slam. He was struggling and you have a pen, use it.
  5. Well when it rains it pours... just mark it up as a bad game. Go get em tomorrow.
  6. A tad nervous but I am on my way to the game and once I have a few cocktails I will be good. Can't wait to beast mode to start the game. GO BREWERS!!!!!
  7. WSSP was saying they want everyone to do beast mode before Yo's first pitch. Someone even made shirts that say "we don't wave, we beast mode" and they are selling them at steny's in walkers point... I will be at Miller Park tomorrow and the fans should join in with the players and go beast mode. Go crew! Let's take game 1!!!
  8. That's a shame and was also one of the reasons I wasn't necessarily rooting for Tampa Bay to get the WC over Boston (Tampa doesn't support their team either). When I watch the playoffs I like to see packed stadiums full of fans that really care about their teams, even if it is one of the "evil" franchises like Boston or NY. Also, I really wish Milwaukee had a ticket purchase web site like AZ does where you can actually pick your section and seat location. Do most teams have this? That's sweet. I think almost all sports teams have this ... the Brewers are the only ones I know with this out dated system ... I don't get it. You would think MLB would just have ownership on that technology and all teams would use the same platform.
  9. Not to mention the set-up of being down 7-0 in the 8th and then having, of all people, Dan Johnson to tie it with a 2-out HR in the 9th. Absolutely crazy. Ya no doubt ... just craziness ... can't wait for Saturday!!
  10. That finish in the AL was EPIC ... Seriously. If you are a Rays fan, that's about as good as it gets. To watch the Red Sox going from 1 strike away from a win to losing by a double, double, single. Then not even 5 minutes later have Longoria walk it off with 2 outs in the bottom of the 12th ... to send you to the playoffs as the Wild Card winner ... craziness ... Is it October yet?!?! ... can't wait .... go Crew!
  11. That probably doesn't rank high in priorities. The Brewers will probably play at 11AM because they wouldn't put ratings draws Yankees, Phillies, or Red Sox at that time - process of elimination. I think the Brewers have a better chance of playing at 9 then at 11. It would suck for wisconsin sports fans as the Badgers would be on ... but it will probably make sense. 11 - Rays at Texas. 2:30ish- Cards at Phillies 5:30ish - Tigers at Yankees 8:30ish - DBacks at Brewers
  12. MLB is starting to post the times for the games. Already posted the AL times for Friday's games. Obviously we are all interested on when the Brewers will play on Sat and Sun. I have a feeling they may wait until they know every matchup before announcing the times of the games. Here is the link ... http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps.jsp
  13. Woke up this morning, remembered the dodgers blew a 5 run lead in the 10th with 2 outs and no body on base and not a damn run crossed the plate yet ... yep, I still hate the dodgers ... and now I have to root for Ted, freaking, Lilly today. Yay Edit: Then I got in the car and heard Sutton's call ... and now I hate him too. Whatever. Brewers handle your business and end this thing tonight.
  14. I know! How do you blow a 5 run lead in the 10th with 2 outs and nobody on base? Damn!
  15. Ya if Kemp wins the triple crown he has to be given the award. That is a major accomplishment. What Braun has done has been awesome, but a Triple crown. Wow, that could be spectacular.
  16. 3 division winners on this fine September evening as the Rangers just punched their ticket. Awesome night for the crew!!! Let's go Brewers go get that 2 seed!!
  17. That is a total non sequitur. This years team had an MVP candidate playing 1B and thus could afford below average production elsewhere.. Any way you cut it, Gamel is an unproven rookie who'll turn 27 in his rookie year. Unless you can guaranty a huge upgrade at 3B and/or SS, you'd be foolish to entrust the 1B job to a rookie. The issue is how do you shore up 1B irrespective of other positions. If you go out and sign Jose Reyes, obviously you stick with Gamel. But assuming at best you place another rookie in Green at 3B and just a guy at SS, that's not enough of an upgrade (if any at all) to offset a Fielder to Gamel downgrade. I agree with JB. I just don't see a scenario where Doug Melvin and Ron Roenecke say, here you go Mat the bat, 1B is yours. Competition will be brought in and depending on money we might get someone with a little more insurrance. If we lock up 1 or 2 of Greinke / Marcum, we might not have any money left to get a bigger name so I would then look for platoon options.
  18. Jason Whitlock is a nob and I dismiss everything I hear from him as there is basically nothing I agree with him on. He is ruining objective journalism with his claims that come off as fact and not just his opinion. Or maybe he should try and understand statistics than to just write them off. Jason - do some homework, understand your topic, and create an informed opinion. To say stataticians are ruining the game is completely ridiculous. As others have said it's just another tool in the managers tool belt to try and give his team the best chance at winning.
  19. I am really starting to believe the first round will be: Cards @ Phills - I think the cards have a shot to go undefeated through the end of the regular season. They play the Mets today, who has give up leads late twice. Then they play the cubs, but at St. Louis. I get the rivalry, but maybe the cubs take 1? After the cubs they play the 102 loss Astros. Dbacks @ Brewers - Based on opponents again, I would much rather play the Marlins / Pirates than the Giants / Dodgers. (Even though the Dbacks miss out on Kereshaw as he pitches Sunday vs the padres - booooo). So in theory, the crew should handle business and finish in front of the dbacks. but you still have to play the games ... So there you have it. If the Brewers make the playoffs and advance past the NLDS, what does it really matter if it is the Phillies or Cardinals? Last I checked they are both really good. Philly has better pitching and the cards better hitting. In all honesty, I would rather play the cards.
  20. I am all on board for Berkman if we can get him
  21. With Fielder's latest comments it got me thinking about it (not that I really want to think about 2012 right now) .... however, I read this article, and Aramis Ramirez says his time in Chicago is done. What about Aramis Ramirez for first base? Especially if he truley only wants a 3 year contract like the article says. 3 years $50?
  22. I agree it won't be any less special. The 92 win phillies, in 2008, bypassed playing the 1 seed (97 win cubs) and the 100 win angels. If the cubs beat the 84 win dodgers, do the phillies still take the series in Chicago (probably because it is the cubs) but I don't think any Philly fans were complaining about being the home team in the NLCS.
  23. Ummmmm .... well I guess, there goes that idea
  24. lol ... tell us how you really feel http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
