  1. Haha, I was thinking the same about Bill's comment. I can't stand how they always talk about how Loe needs to pitch a ton of games in a row or his stuff won't be sharpe. He throws every day I'm sure; he warms up in the pen. That should be no excuse for why his stuff isn't good.
  2. Well if the Twins hold the lead Loe will be 2-7. So 7 loses and I'm not sure how many leads he has given up in the 8th.
  3. Nice! I honestly didn't think they would play him there. Maybe there might be a spot for him on this team after interleague.
  4. Here is some discussion. Why not leave Braddock in there to close out the inning? He struck out two, one being a RHB.
  5. I actually agree completely, but have finally come around to realize that IGTs are just rant/vent threads. It can be entertaining.Which is funny, because ranting is explicitly against IGT and Brewerfan rules. If people want a place to post things like "you suck you fat slob," then the staff suggests they find another place to post. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being disappointed in the team's play, expecting big things, etc. but the IGTs have become unreadable for many. It's not fun for many people to watch the team play right now, but it's even less fun for those who come here looking for good discussion about the games and find nothing but kneejerk reactions. I hear you on this, but it is hard to have a good discussion when this team is playing such a frustrating brand of baseball recently. Like an earlier OP said, expectations are high since we sold to farm and are all in this year. I think the rants and kneejerk reactions stem from the fact that a lot of us realize that if nothing happens this year it won't be happening for a very long time.
  6. I love how disinterested the entire team looks now. Typical for these guys when they are behind in a road game.
  7. Nothing like starting off an inning with 5 straight balls, Yo.
  8. What are you talking about? Attitude doesn't make someone a good hitter. I would say you need confidence, but a bad attitude isn't going to make you a bad hitter or make it harder to get out of a slump. I don't think you guys understand Casey isn't in a slump. Maybe if this lasted a month you could call it a slump, but half of a year is a sign. He overachieved last year, and has now come back to earth.
  9. Anyone get to here the Tony Plush interview on the Jim Rome show today? I missed it, but all the comments afterwards sounded like Morgan killed the interview as one would expect.
  10. You mean just complain about anything and everything, over and over amd over. That has to be great as well. Can you give me one example of a move RR made that won them a game? I'm going to guess you can not, and if you can it may be one time. I could give countless examples of how his moves has contributed greatly in a lose, but I don't want to complain.
  11. I don't really get that kind of logic. It's convenient to look at home/road splits but we can look at any other mostly-random splits that we want to. Day/night, roof open/closed, day games after night games, record on Thursdays, etc... It all makes interesting trivia but I don't see the utility in it. I do not believe that there is anything about the Brewers as a team that has caused them to significantly over perform at home and under perform on the road. What could even affect the whole team? Just a curious happenstance, in my opinion. And it is just as easy to suggest the Brewers shouldn't be as dominating at home as they have been so far. If the Brewers were .500 on the road they would be 50-32 and on pace for 99 wins. The Brewers are a decent team but they are nothing special. They are no where near a 99 win team. They are now on pace for 85 wins which is right around where they were expected to be. Hell, the brutal part of the schedule is over, so I'd probably expect more wins than that (based on just their performance this year). It was a terrible series but let's lets look at the big picture. The Brewers are done being bent over by the AL East and will have at at least a share of the NL Central after today. Did anyone really have higher expectations than that? I agree with you on the idea of splits being kind of trivial when compared to the big pictures, but your happenstance comment is far from the truth. After watching a good amount of the games this season the team takes on a completely different form when they are on the road. You can almost feel it while watching a game. They exude confidence at home and show non on the road. This team doesn’t have the same mental makeup on the road as they do at home. Does it make sense? Not really, but that is 100% the case. The pitchers don’t have confidence in their stuff the hitters lose their approach.
  12. Yes they do. They had 19 hits in the first two games and only managed 4 runs. That is sickening.
  13. I'm sure the Yankees' pitching has had nothing to do with it. We have out hit them in both games so I would say no they didn't have much to do with it.
  14. I know he played in the outfield a little before they decided to have him play 1B exclusively this year. That would be sweet.
  15. At least Gamel had a solid game. Glad to see him up for while and hoefully he continues to do well. I just wish there was a place for him on this team after interleague play is over.
  16. Big game Zack showing us fans exactly why the Brewers made the trade for him. Those 5 runs that inning were 100% on him.
  17. Wow time to hit the off button already. I know the first inning wasn't Greinke's fault, but he isn't looking very ace like tonight. Actually, on second thought he hasn't all year.
  18. There is a reason Gamel is playing 1B now. There is little to no way they move him back over to 3B no matter how well he hits. I just hope he is DH at least 5 out of the next 6 games or it is a waste of a call up IMO. I personally wouldn't mind having him at 3B instead of Casey, but I don't see the Brewer's making that move. Agree with your comments above in bold. Just look at Casey's minor league history; there are no signs that what he did the last year and a half was going to continue. Yes, I am a Casey hater. Always thought he was overachieving and wished we would have traded him when his value was high.
  19. I am happy Gamel is up as well, but I doubt he stays up after the Twins series. I wouldn't want him to waste away on the bench for the remainder of the year. I would rather he get his ABs in Nashville this year so he is primed to be our starting first baseman next year. We have already see what a stint on the pine at the big league level did to Gamel when Macha was here.
  20. When will this come to an end? I know Hart hasn't been the best lately, but I have to think he would offer more protection for Prince and more production in that 5 hole. I would like to know how many runners Casey has left on base this year. Anyone here has access to those stats?
  21. Sadly you might be right. It will be sad to see Prince go next year, but I am excited to see Gamel finally get a shot to play full time in the bigs.
