  1. Well they are going to average at least 5 runs a game in this series. Could they at least score 5 runs a game instead of scoring them all in a couple games and then looking like a little league team in the others.
  2. I guess it depends if you would prefer to play the Rockies in the wild card game. If you do, then you want the Rockies to win.
  3. Sorry to say it, but the division is out of reach now. Barring a total Brewers-esque collapse, we'll be in the Wild Card game with a very good chance to host it. I hope Craig manages the rest of the way to keep everyone fresh going into that game. I'd rather enter the "postseason" with everyone at 100% than burn out the bullpen or play Cain, Yelich, and the rest of the starters every day trying to catch the Cubs.
  4. Isn't the whole Pioneer League in the mountains? I imagine all of the parks are at high altitudes, although not as high as Colorado Springs I assume.
  5. Outside of the players' and coaches' parents and immediate family, no, I doubt anyone does or will care. Sure, it's D1, but so is UW-GB basketball. Who wants to sit and watch baseball in the open air in March and April in Wisconsin? Not me, and I coach high school baseball that plays at the same time. Hadn't heard about this. This is pretty awesome actually.
  6. On the one hand there has to be more to it. But on the other hand Hugh Jackson just said he didn't know his kicker has had a groin injury all year. Seems like same old Browns.
  7. Hey, might as well get Kratz in tonight. Need to make sure those legs are good and tired for the playoffs.
  8. Late to meetings apparently and not 100% honest about how he hurt his hamstring.
  9. I guess I don't understand all the grousing about bad minor league stadiums. As long as there are adequate weight training, and hitting and pitching facilities who cares about the stadium? It's not like the Brewers are getting a cut of the gate or any money at all from the organization.
  10. I'm not going to harp on Kratz starting but I will harp on Nottingham not at least getting an AB last night. After we were up 8-0 the Sheriff should have finished the game behind the plate. I'm pretty sure AARP insurance won't cover a guy if he catches 3 full games in a row, especially when one of those is a day game after a night game.
  11. The interesting thing about WWF/E is that they control everything about their history and make sure the fans perceive events how the company wants it to be perceived. So when they do historical things like this that give the impression that they aren't kayfabe, it's tough to tell what is real and what is what they want you to think is real. This HIAC match is the most scrutinized event in wrestling history behind the Montreal screw job and both have varying accounts of how things actually happened. After having watched this clip and other videos about the match, I'm still of the opinion that every single thing that happened was planned and happened exactly as it was planned. Mick and others have said the plan was to start on top of the cage and then they sort of insinuate that every else just kind of happened. The throw off the cage was obviously planned, there's no way Taker just decided in the spur of the moment to do it. Mick being taken out on the stretcher only to come roaring back was planned, it's one of the oldest tricks in the book. Parts of the roof of the cage breaking as they walked on them was planned to add drama and to set up the chokeslam through the cage. If the cage was really breaking under their feet I can't imagine they would have stayed up there as long as they did and certainly not actually taken any bumps on it. I haven't seen the whole match in a while but I'm pretty sure there were multiple bumps on top of the cage. They knew where to go and what was going to happen with that panel. If you watch Taker he completely repositions himself before the chokeslam, does a 180 around Foley and makes sure he's not on the same panel. Now, I do believe that most everyone else involved in the match didn't know what was going to happen, hence the reactions from all the referees and medical people. And Vince's constant look of "Why did I let Mick do this?" None of that takes anything away from the match or the hell Foley put his body through. I have read that Mick and Taker worked out the match between themselves and Mick didn't want anyone what they were going to do. Mainly so that no one would stop them but also so that Taker wouldn't be held responsible if anything happened to Mick and they could pass it off as an unplanned accident or Mick just being stupid and doing his own thing.
  12. Interesting article about who pays for what. What I also find interesting is the comment about a minor league team looking for a winning team while aligning with an organization. I believe that was part of the reason Nashville gave us the boot but I'd be interested to know if having a winning team makes any difference in attendance in the minors. I would think the biggest thing is the parent club and it's proximity to the minor league team. The TRats attendance sky rocketed because of the Brewers. They could have won multiple championships but been affiliated with the Padres and I'm sure attendance would have not changed at all. The other thing would be having top prospects. That's kind of hard to predict. The parent club could have a great system but not have any "superstar" prospects come through that fans want to see. Ultimately, the minor league team wants to pair with whatever MLB organization will make it the most money. Outside of being located close together, I have no idea how they can figure that out since the MLB team is prohibited from doing anything to help the minor league organization other than providing players and coaches.
  13. What's going to whittle that list down is the NFL and Packers pricing themselves out of the market. I could totally be wrong but I thought there was a story early last NFL season that many teams were having trouble selling out games. I don't know why anyone would drop a couple hundred bucks on tickets to an NFL game to be crammed in with drunks while only able to see half of what's going on.
  14. The players have a union and they get suspended for doing stupid stuff all the time. I don't know why having a union matters at all unless their contract explicitly states that MLB can't punish umpires for anything. I would never be in favor of suspending or punishing umpires for missing calls, besides a demotion to the minors with the opportunity to work their way back, but how MLB can just sit on their hands when you have umps acting like total unprofessional idiots boggles my mind.
  15. How embarrassing. If Diaz receives no punishment (which I doubt he will), it's a joke. If you feel a player is showing you up, toss him. Don't stop the game to yell at him from 200 feet away and then yell at his manager to "go talk to him", and then stare him down and yell at him on his way back to the dugout, and then call a petty strike a foot off the plate. Major props to Harper and Dave Martinez for not loosing it. They had every right to.
  16. I didn't think John Smoltz was a total "get off my lawn and take the nerds with you guy" but his half inning rant was pretty annoying. Apparently teams shouldn't use shifts and need to go back to stealing bases and bunting it's proven that that's how you win and it's more entertaining.
  17. Sounds like your standard Brewers loss to a crappy team.
  18. Unless rubbing Pabst on your shoulder has magical healing powers, I don't think it really matters where he pitches now.
  19. Looked like Hallion just wanted to be part of the jackpot. He really comes off as quite the turd though. Not sure how anyone, other than fans of the other team, could have a problem with Frazier's "catch". When players dive into the stands like that we rarely have any idea if they actually held on to make the catch. Like many players before him, I'm sure Todd just felt for the ball and came out looking like he made the catch. He just never assumed the ball he grabbed wouldn't be the right one because, what are the chances that there would be another ball right where he went in to the stands?
  20. On a ball caught a foot from the warning track both should make it easily.
  21. Nothing like a mod trying to make it about politics. On a better note the stadium was just renovated in 2013ish...pretty major if I remember right. I have never been there, but it looks nice from pictures and I have never heard any complaining. Looks like it is pretty updated all things considered. Compared to the other ones I have been to it actually looks to be really nice. That's what I was thinking. They just did a major overhaul to the stadium. I'm not sure what more they could do that wouldn't be overkill for an A ball stadium.
  22. Exactly. If the Brewers were doing this we would all be praising Stearns for doing everything he could to help his team.
  23. I would argue what they are doing is technically against the rules and shouldn't be allowed by MLB. Unfortunately MLB keeps looking the other way. If changing game times for competitive reasons and cancelling game for fictitious rainouts is allowed, the Brewers apparently should try harder to utilize shady tactics to provide them an advantage. I mean, come on guy. You have some unusual takes at times but this is one of your worst... Not saying that it's right nor that I agree with it. If it was illegal they wouldn't be getting away with it. Can't fault them for taking every advantage they can within the rules. That's just being smart.
  24. Cubs management is pure trash knows how to use the rules to their advantage.
  25. Makes sense that they changed the time and only because I want the Cubs to face as much adversity of possible do I have a problem with it. I'm pretty sure MLB rules about regular season game times (including weather related issues) are totally in the hands of the home team and have been since forever I'm sure. Which certainly made sense in the 1920's and 30's but not in the past 50 years. It's probably time update those rules for the 20th century.
