  1. Guy on Twitter ranting his hate for Nyjer because his incident with Carpenter "gave the Cardinals what they needed" and was the reason the Cardinals beat the Brewers in the playoffs and went on to win the World Series. Ya, ok, whatever.
  2. Maybe. 10 innings and really only the only long inning was the 9th and the game took over 4 hours. Ooof.
  3. We gave the Royals a World Series. It's about time they return the favor. Soria with the win after a Moustakas walkoff hit.
  4. Broxton was put in for defense. Broxton isn’t playing defense.... correct? I thought he came in on the double switch earlier, but that was Perez.
  5. Yep. I can't believe a few were defending that. It made no sense then and looks even worse now. If Keon Broxton is who you need to send up for your biggest scoring chance when you're carrying 14 position players, you screwed up. Broxton was put in for defense.
  6. Again, it wasn't the bullpen that failed to cash in on runs multiple times during the game. The bullpen threw 8 scoreless innings and probably more.
  7. That is the risk of this pitching strategy. It only takes one guy being off to blow it up. The strategy worked fine. The offense being the crappy offense we saw 85% of the year is what might cost the game.
  8. Just dominate the Cards and Cubs for a whole week and the Rockies for 8 innings and then crap the bed hard. #BrewersBaseball
  9. Every bench guy has a purpose. Santana has the best chance to put you up 1-0 out of all of them. Probably your best choice.
  10. Yeah, but I don't think it's sustainable. It's not going to last the farther we go this postseason. They need to add a TOR guy this offseason. It will be fine for the postseason with all the days off.
  11. Gotta say I love these "early" starts. Means the game should be over before 11:00.
  12. .852 OPS at home .665 OPS on road For comparison, the Brewers are almost 100 points higher overall than the Rockies road OPS. 4.63 ERA at home 4.03 ERA on road Brewers are 3.73 overall, and surprising much lower ERA at home. On paper, the Rockies are the team I wanted to face either in the Wild Card game or NLDS. However, they are the quintessential get hot at the right time team, which scares me. Then again, so are we.
  13. Tweeting during a game is against MLB policy so I'm sure that's reason #1 it was deleted. As for any other reasons, I'll allow you all to speculate wildly.
  14. Mind games. Counsell is going full on Undertaker on the rest of the league this year.
  15. It happens every year on the day that there are four games.
  16. I think the Astros would disagree. As good as the Brewers are, the core they have is absolutely incredible and should be around for several years and may contain a few young HOF'ers. I'm certainly not taking credit away from Stearns, but Yelich is as much a credit to Stearns as it is a black mark on Jeter's personal moves. Aguilar was a great hit, but he was one of the many guys we were just taking a shot at(an idea I wholeheartedly embrace by the way, the 20 moves that didn't work out were more than worth it for a middle of the order bat under control for several years). But lets wait and see if we can develop and or use our system to trade for talent like Correa, Altuve, Springer, Cole, Verlander, Bergman and several others. The Cubs have given away some of the best young talent in the game for a good, not great young lefty in Quintana and 3 months of Chapman or I'd place them in that same group with the Astro's. Either way, point is, it's a bit early to say we've perfected rebuilding. For all the success, Stearns really hasn't gotten that much out of his draft picks just yet, much less his international signings. Sure but a lot of owners have no desire for a long, drawn out rebuild. A quick turnaround like done in Milwaukee gets every owners attention more so than 3 straight 100 loss seasons. What Stearns pulled off is every pro sports owners wet dream when they clean house and bring in someone new. Unlike most teams that finally decide to rebuild, the Brewers had some very valuable pieces they were able to cash in on. Trading Gomez, Lucroy, Parra, and Jeffress pretty much set everything up. Gomez and Lucroy both being young, affordable, and cheap led to much greater returns than most teams get during a tear down since they weren't high-priced, old, fading talent.
  17. Watching Maddon blow through relievers like tic-tacs this afternoon really puts the job Counsell did this year in perspective. He pushed so many of the right buttons, and his acumen helped a team that I think most anyone would agree is talented, but not the most talented team in the NL, to 96 wins, the best record in the NL, and a Central Division Championship. He is a very smart baseball man that showed a great understanding of both analytics and going with his gut this year, and was very successful. If he doesn't win, it wouldn't only be a shame, it would arguably be a mockery. A travesty? A sham? A mockery? A travi-sham-ockery?
  18. Maybe, but I don't why. That whole NL East collapsed or wasn't trying. Counsell had to beat 2 other teams and a third that had our number all year.
  19. [sarcasm]How many prospects could we get if we flip Yelich?[/sarcasm] All of them.
