  1. So what managers aren't coming back next year? I would say there's a good chance Grifol gets canned if for nothing else than for being the fall man for that disaster in Chicago. I think Boone's toddler tamper tantrums every time he doesn't like a ball/strike call have worn themselves out and he's gone unless they make a deep playoff run. I could see the Angels getting rid of Nevin if they don't make the playoffs. They'll probably be blowing that whole organization anyway.
  2. I don't recall Brice ever being a prospect because of his bat so we shouldn't be surprised that he's not hitting well.
  3. Based on yesterday's 9th inning, I'll add Santana needs to have fungos rifled at him from 20 feet away for at least an hour before every game the rest of the year, Williams needs to throw 50 pitch bullpens every day to work on hitting his spots, and the whole team needs to run poles after every game. That should sort everything out.
  4. The Red Sox left Urias in the minors when their current middle infielders are all OPS'ing under .700. I think that should tell us a little bit about what teams think of him.
  5. This place really just needs to shut down after crap loses like today so that the trash stays in the bins and doesn't spill out onto the internet.
  6. Miller did exactly what he did last year. Hit really good for about a month and then sucked. In fact, his slash line is eerily similar to last year.
  7. Whatever to losing Jackson but who exactly is the #3 catcher right now? Only 2 on the 40 man.
  8. The guy's fandom is irrelevant. The idea is ludicrous and laughable no matter who wrote it.
  9. The Angels and Rangers are acquiring all the players. There will be no one left for any other team.
  10. Might as well make him the DH too. He's a better hitter than the crap we keep putting there.
  11. This Braves series proved this team isn't anywhere near a legit competitor. If it wasn't for the ineptitude of the rest of the division we'd be looking at selling this year. No reason to pillage the farm to take this team from mediocre to slightly less mediocre.
  12. Man, I thought the Cards TV guys were bad. Their radio guys literally said "the umps are giving the game to the Cubs". https://twitter.com/VanHicklestein/status/1684730238754852864?s=20
  13. I know next to nothing about this guy but if they feel his bat improves the major league team they need to just bring him up and stick him at DH the rest of the year. Let him focus on hitting and not worry about having to play defense.
  14. The Cardinals once again proved what trash they are. Last night, Ian Happ hit Contreras in the back of the head on his back swing. He was bleeding pretty bad and had to come out of the game. Mikolas is on the mound and throws the next pitch at his head and misses him. Next pitch nails him in the back. Happ walks down to first and the umpires get together and decide to eject Mikolas. Obviously the right call as there was no doubt it was intentional. Miles is quite upset and you can see him trying to say that it slipped. As he's walking off the field he's jawing with the Cubs dugout looking like he's telling them to come get him. The Cubs dugout, on the other hand, is laughing at him. David Ross is visibly confused as to what is even going on. Mind you, this is all of 2 outs into the top of the 1st inning. As if the actions on the field weren't bad enough, I watched the Cardinals broadcast of the sequence of events and the announcers were literally screaming mad that Miles got tossed. Two lines that stick out to me were "the umpires have no feel for the game" and "he did it the right way, he hit him in the back". Marmol wasn't ejected right away but when he was they went on to say that "this is only going to make things worse. this game is going to get out of hand now". (spoiler alert: it didn't. nothing else happened other than the Cardinals getting spanked). It amazes me how this organization can continually be bush league and employ trash people.
  15. I didn't see a single post "crapping" on this trade. Plenty of people underwhelmed but nothing negative. In fact, this is probably the least negative thread about a Brewers transaction I've ever seen.
  16. I don't know or care who the article is suggesting but I wish the front office would read the headline and go, "Hey, there's an idea we haven't thought of before. Let's give it a try."
  17. 2 months of Rosario is worth next to nothing. The chance to maybe make Thor a competent pitcher again is better than cash or whatever nobody minor leaguer they could have got.
  18. I said they were giving the Rockies a run for their money for worst in all of sports, so you can't even get that right. You're whole argument is "so what that they suck, at least they're trying". They have no plan, no strategy for how to be a competitive and competently run organization. They are basically a guy at a casino who hit big on a couple of pulls on the slot machine as soon as he got there but has bled most of that money away all night and keeps saying to himself "if I just gamble more I can win it back." Sometimes you just need to cash in your chips and go to bed before you go bankrupt.
  19. Angels giving the Rockies a run for their money for worst run organization in sports. Ohtani will go somewhere else in the offseason and in response they'll give out another big money, long term deal to a player who will crater and be injured for the next half decade.
  20. It's Triple A. I would hope a fringe major league player like he is hits well there because he's shown he can't really hit in the majors.
  21. A career 76 OPS+ utility infielder doesn't scream first base to me.
  22. I know this organization doesn't give a crap about 1B but putting Toro there!? Jeez.
  23. Management loves noodle bats that can stand on all kinds of different parts of the field. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Less sarcastically, I think they'll be giving Yelich a lot more DH time and let the kids play the outfield. So there really isn't a place for Huira to get PA's anyway.
  24. As someone else posted, hope you like intentional walks. One really, really, really great hitter isn't going to prop up the crap that is the the bottom half of this lineup.
