  1. The Rockies pithing is falling apart. Holland is crashing pretty hard and their already nondescript rotation is coming back down to earth.
  2. It's the Rickie Weeks paradox. Taking pitches, fouling off pitches, and working the count is great. But is it really that great when you're taking a fastball down the middle for strike one every time up?
  3. This is what I'm hoping for. Obviously Braun is still going to be there but between those 4 you get them all 500 PA's in a season and most importantly keep Braun fresh and hopefully healthy.
  4. That rule is changed as well. Players can resign with their old team whenever they want.
  5. I went to bed and missed it.. Why are we running Barnes out of town? Is he in danger? Because he walked a guy. You know, because every other reliever in the league has perfect innings, they never give up walks or hits. I'm guessing it was probably more the flubbed defensive play.
  6. Did Pina get hurt? I see he was pinch hit for pretty early.
  7. Reading this thread so far has solidified my plan to not even turn the game on tonight.
  8. Anderson has given up 4 runs or less in every start but one (17 of 18, 94%). Nelson has given up 4 runs or less in 23 of 27 (85%). I'll agree Nelson has the better stuff but there are days he just doesn't have it. Anderson has been consistently above average in pretty much all his starts.
  9. My gut tells me, for a one game playoff, Anderson is the least likely to blow up. I really don't trust any of them to go out there and win any game.
  10. How did he even get hit this way? The only way I can think of this happening was if he was squaring to bunt. Otherwise it makes no sense.
  11. Depends on the cat. We had cats all the time growing up in the country. Some of them would catch mice, others would just lie there and watch the mice run around them.
  12. Haha no he should do what people did with his jersey after he got caught. Go from "BrauN" to "FrauD". I'd get a good laugh out of that. Why not just "Brauny"? Probably legal/trade mark reasons.
  13. Unbelievably, that's more than they got for Scooter. If there was a contest to see how many different threads you could bring up Gennett in that have nothing to do with Gennett, I assure you, you'd be winning it, hands down. He also won the Khris Davis contest last year.
  14. Has anyone ever explained why Keon's wristbands have #53 on them?
  15. It's only for one game (hopefully) but not counting the pitcher the leadoff hitter has the lowest OBP and OPS of the starting lineup. Has to be the dumbest thing Counsell's done so far. I get trying to make things happen when you're not scoring runs but this is just stupid.
  16. Looks like a bullpen day tomorrow for the Dodgers. Is that good for us?
  17. As bad as it feels like he's pitched, Quintana has pitched about the same or better than he had been with the White Sox this year. His hits and walks are down and strikeouts are up.
  18. I'm sure they will eventually, but it isn't going to be in August. Probably not but I would rather give my guys rest in August and have them play more in September that way they're still in the swing of things come playoff time.
  19. I know this is the big bad scary Dodgers but at some point Roberts has got to start taking it easy with his starters. They lost Bellinger and Wood this week and these games just about mean nothing for them. There's no point in them running out their best 9 every night just to get to the playoffs and have those guys be spent.
  20. If I'm trading any of those guys it's Santana. He's just flat out awful in the field. Maybe he can play 1B but with Thames/Aguilar and possibly Shaw if some prospect 3B turns up I doubt they try him there. An outfield with 2 of Broxton, Brinson, and Phillips is darn good defensively.
  21. Garza to the bullpen? We saw what happened with that last year, big baby took his ball and went home... Real team player. I don't want Garza back here next year in any capacity. Send him packing and let someone else have him... Last year he had a wife in a high risk pregnancy with twins half a country away and this team was going no where. While he didn't exactly handle it the right way I have no problem with him going home.
  22. I really don't see any additions or subtractions from the current outfield for 2018. Maybe Broxton is traded but I just can't see them giving CF to Brinson or Phillips unless they come up and tear up September and Brinson is almost a certainly not going to play anymore this year.
  23. i thought about quintin berry also, but i'm a really big fan of kyle wren. i really want the brewers to have a decent outfielder that makes the club out of spring training with three minor league options remaining. i'm sick of the kirk nieuwenhuis and ramon flores experiments. granted, the brewers could add berry, cut him in the offseason and then add wren to the 40-man, and i'd still be pleased with that. The only reason I could see for signing Berry when it happened was as a September MLB pinch runner.
