  1. Trash in, trash out. Seems like a totally pointless lateral move but Espino is gone so I guess that's good.
  2. A LHP holding LHB to a .174 average and overall .202 average against after his first year of pitching is not just a "good story" to throw away. Especially considering the trash taking up 40 man spots right now.
  3. I'm pretty sure every AFL team has coaches from the same big league teams that the players are from meaning there will be Brewer coaches there to watch him. Pick like 5 random pitchers from the system and that's who they'll send. The Brewers just don't send pitching prospects to the AFL which makes sense. No reason to add extra innings to their arms.
  4. The umpires ended their wrist band protest after 1 day.
  5. Thames OPS vs RHP: .932 Aguilar OPS vs LHP: .948 That's a decent platoon.
  6. I have an interview this week at a place I've interviewed 3 times prior for 3 different jobs over the past 5 years. The position I'm interviewing for I actually interviewed for and got a few years ago. Even after the position ended they've asked me back a couple times to work when the person who has the position was out for a while. Now, I'm not expecting them to just give me the job but what exactly do they expect to learn from an interview? Based on who I've spoken with over the phone, the HR people are different, but I'm also interviewing with the department I worked in and it's the same people I've worked with multiple times before.
  7. I'd say Nelson is the default #1 but neither is an ace or #1 pitcher. I guess long term Nelson is probably the better pitcher but I'm not interested in signing either long term. They each have 3 years of control left after this year and unless they're willing to sign under market value it just doesn't seem like a good use of funds. Jimmy has made such great improvements in BB/9 and K/9 this year it's tough to say if this is his career year or the new norm. I'd bet it's somewhere in between.
  8. Craig resist your urge to use Knebel. Jeremy can get 1 out before giving up 4 runs.
  9. The Brewers still have to pitch at least twice to win. That can change in a hurry.
  10. Can't see it, but on the radio they were very confident the out call would stand. Super slow replay you can't tell when exactly Arcia got the tag on. He looked safe live to me. The umpire put himself in a pretty terrible spot to see it though. Then again the same guy (Jim Wolf) couldn't remember the count a couple nights ago.
  11. Not sure how he was called out live. Pretty obviously safe to me.
  12. When you've proven yourself to be as much of a dunce on the bases as Villar has you'll never get the benefit of the doubt. And any half way competent runner doesn't get doubled up on that.
  13. More power to all of you that can pull this off but all of this effort just isn't worth it to me to save a few bucks.
  14. How can you blame him for that? That would've happened to anybody else. No. You shouldn't be doubled up at first on a line drive hit to the SS playing a normal SS position. You freeze on a line drive, not run 3 steps and then get thrown out by 10 feet.
  15. Are there any numbers that show if umps are giving more strikes than taking away strikes? Meaning, are they calling more balls as strikes than calling strikes as balls. I can understand an ump missing a call giving a strike a 1/2 inch off the plate but not so much missing when 1/2 inch of a baseball is over the plate.
  16. I hope this means that any time a player or coach starts to argue with an ump they just stand there with their arms folded or walk away. Don't want to look like hypocrites here.
