  1. While there are supposed to be rules about who's eligible for the post season roster it seems like the only one that matters is that the player was in the organization as of August 31.
  2. Barnes will be in it. Craig seems to love him. I'd rather have Guerra starting in AAA as depth than use him as long relief. They can find some 4A scrub to fill the long relief role.
  3. I mean it could happen, but it's not as if the back end of the bullpen has been blowing games lately. Why are the 77-69 Brewers all of the sudden a joke? Because that's the kind of things that happen to us.
  4. Well this is certainly setting up a Marlins walk off against Knebel because we're the Brewers and we're a joke.
  5. Not really sure what they gained from it though. Mound visit without it counting and relievers loose. The ump was right there so they didn't talk strategy and it lasted like 15 seconds during which no one threw.
  6. Is everyone still excited about hosting these games? Same putrid offense as the last couple months. Doesn't matter where they play.
  7. As Braun goes, so goes the rest of the offense it's always seemed. He played a total of 9 games in May and June when they were crushing the ball.
  8. A .900 OPS from Braun isn't going to magically make the rest of the lineup hit better. The offensive collapse is far from one person's fault.
  9. Not to derail the thread but this is probably a good thing. The summer schools in our area struggle to field a team. In fact, a couple years ago a school folded its team in the middle of the season because so many kids just stopped showing up. We just had two schools that were always summer ball join our conference where they almost never had a JV team and now have had a JV team every year since switching.
  10. Ya I was wondering too why they didn't put Nelson on the 60 day DL. Maybe they feel Yadi has a better chance of going unclaimed this time of year. Not like I personally feel he's worth even keeping around though.
  11. I really don't get why people think this is such a crazy thing for the Brewers to be the visitor at Miller Park. Based on the circumstances it makes perfect sense. Everything about this series is going to be exactly like every other one at Miller Park except the Brewers will hit first which unless the Marlins win a walkoff will barely be noticed.
  12. I think he will pitch 2 innings, 3 max. so I don't think too much pressure. I am sure Wilkerson is slated to pitch 2 or 3 too to try to get to the back of the pen with a lead. Exactly. I've read people freaking out about this which is totally stupid. He's going to throw 2 innings as he's done quite a bit this year. The difference is it will be innings 1 and 2 instead of 6 and 7.
  13. Because the "tanking" Reds just rolled over for the Brewers.
  14. I do find the 30 updates a day on their winning streak from the MLB app to be annoying.
  15. Jeffress hopefully. Jeffries would be quite a reach for a September call up.
  16. Yeah, I honestly don't remember a lot of it. I haven't been there in probably 20 years. I remember the fountains in the park and we always loved going to Hardee's because they had a big ball pit we could play in and we would always go to Evans which was a jack of all trades store I think with a decent selection of toys. Sadly the Hardee's was torn down and is now a Family Video. The owners of Evan's retired and closed it (although the ones in Sheboygan Falls and Kewaunee? are still open) and it's a thrift store. The fountains are still here though!
  17. Go to two random places in Wisconsin and ask how to pronounce Mueller. Miller vs Mueller does not cost you any jokes so that's not the same comparison. Why would the English translation use an "a" Baseball Reference lists WONG as the correct pronouncing for both and I seem to remember hearing Chien-Ming pronounced as WANG and WONG but WONG more often.
  18. Go to two random places in Wisconsin and ask how to pronounce Mueller.
  19. Do you remember where in town that was? Hawthorne I think? I know it's West of the West Twin and close to the lake. Hawthorne runs along the river and is a few blocks from the lake. The other side of town that I live on.
  20. I missed it. Where? Is it Two Rivers? Is that why they were talking about the East Twin and West Twin Rivers? Ya, Tippy's in Two Rivers. They didn't know what the two rivers were. Surprising since it seems like Rock knows everything about Wisconsin geography.
  21. Anderson said single but that's a double. It has to be. Very interesting call here. Rule 10.07 Example 1©: © When the batter attempts to make a two base hit or a three base hit by sliding, he must hold the last base to which he advances. If he overslides and is tagged out before getting back to the base safely, he shall be credited with only as many bases as he attained safely. If he overslides second base and is tagged out, he shall be credited with a one base hit; However, technically he did not slide...so does the NOTE to the above example apply? NOTE: If the batter overruns second or third base and is tagged out trying to return, he shall be credited with the last base he touched. If he runs past second base after reaching that base on his feet, attempts to return and is tagged out, he shall be credited with a two base hit. hmmm, the letter of the law says double, but not sure if "overruns" is meant to mean seriously trying for the next base, but returning if you see a good throw or previous runner go back. I would say he "overran" it. He easily achieved second base and then slipped off the base. BA said it was scored a double.
  22. First time the tavern of the game has been from my town.
