  1. Am I they only one that is 100% sure that when a balk is called it's an immediate dead ball?
  2. No one's really answered my question about who this guy actually is. I gather he's the father of a college basketball player who could be really good in the NBA and he's trying to make money off of him before that even happens. Sounds like he's taking advantage of our reality TV society where people become rich and famous for being loud, obnoxious, crazy, horrible people. Sounds like a genius to me.
  3. Was he the guy whose mechanics they completely changed after they drafted him? I think it was and he seems to, maybe not intentionally but sort of, take a shot at the Brewers in the article when he says he was throwing mid-90's in college and then low 90's when he got to pro ball and he never got a chance to show what he could do. I've never seen him pitch at any level so maybe his mechanics were a disaster in college but to take a guy who's had success in college and completely change him after drafting him seems stupid. Especially if he loses a few MPH like Bradley alludes to in the article.
  4. Does it work in reverse? Do you have any Brewers pitchers you can cut and they become good?? I dropped Davies 3 or 4 starts ago. So there you go.
  5. Villar you have the baseball IQ of a 3 year old. Please someone sit him down already.
  6. Yay Brewers! Boo for another pitcher destroying my fantasy team.
  7. You're welcome for adding Hembree to my fantasy team this morning.
  8. We already gave them Milone now just send them Garza and we got a deal. (blueish)
  9. I see no difference between the two.
  10. Matt Harvey suspended 3 games for breaking team rules.
  11. So basically Roache was traded to make room for Michael Choice, an older and worse version of Roache? No matter what your opinion of Victor, that makes little sense.
  12. Niese was absolutely terrible when traded. I thought we were all assuming Garza kept up what he has done so far(obviously some regression). Garza is likelier to put up better advanced stats and has a potentially attractive option for next year. If Garza keeps it up I would expect notably more than Niese got. Take a team like the Yankees who are out to a 18-9 start and may well look to add multiple starters. I don't like their chances to get through 162 games with CC, Pineda and Tanaka. Garza is exactly the type of pitcher I could see them adding. And then to have the option to bring him back for 5 million next year? Maybe we try and play the lottery and see if we can get a guy like James Kaprielian from the Yanks. He's a guy who won't be pitching this year and likely very little next year, but also a potential future ace. Unlikely, but...if Garza can give us a really good stretch here...he's worth asking about IMO. Ace stuff when healthy. I don't know anything about this Kaprielian guy but Garza is not bringing back anyone who will even sniff the word ace. A Davies-like back of the rotation guy is probably the best you can hope for.
  13. He was high on draft boards after he hit a ridiculous 30 HRs in 230 ABs his Sophomore year. Then his Junior year he started out hot, but broke his wrist 6 games in. Rewind and I bet in the draft thread everyone loved that pick. Can't believe after such success in college he couldn't hit anywhere in the minors. Wrist injury must have really effected him. I do remember a lot of excitement that he fell to us in that draft thread. Also, much concern about the wrist injury.
  14. If the announcer is correct and the pitcher was on the rubber then the umps blew that call pretty bad. The field ump wasn't even looking at the play when the tag was made.
  15. Who is this guy and why do I see his name pop up in the news every other week?
  16. Apparently the Cardinal batters have not been paying any attention to Feliz. He walks the first batter on 4 pitches and then they make 3 outs on the next 4 pitches.
  17. Wasn't Roache a top 5 or 10 pick before the injury and then fell to the Brewers? If he was that highly rated I can't blame them for taking a chance on a guy.
  18. What exactly constitutes "substantial return" will vary wildly for each poster.
  19. The better's eye was painted black from green before last season I believe. Which is funny because all Schroeder would ever talk about is how hitters love to hit in Miller Park because of the batter's eye.
  20. Almost nobody is just a throw in. People use this phrase all the time but there is almost never anything really backing it up. If they had removed Anderson from the Segura trade it probably wouldn't have happened. Same with Shaw since we had an obvious need at 3B. Nelson Cruz wasn't a throw in when he was traded either. Throw in is probably too haphazard a word but I doubt Stearns contacted Boston and specifically said I want Travis Shaw. I'm sure he wanted better prospects but Boston wasn't willing to give them up so he took Shaw to make up the value of the lesser prospect.
  21. The trade was about Dubon. Shaw was just a throw in that Boston had no need for. Just like the Segura trade was about Diaz but Dave Stewart wanted to give us Anderson too for some reason. Not sure how anyone can hate the way the rebuild has been done so far. Stearns has been trading veterans for young players of all levels and he's acquired like two not young MLB ready guys.
  22. Stearns has to be kicking himself a bit. Hope he learns moving forward. I agree it sucks now but I'd rather have the guys we traded for than the guys we traded.
  23. I refuse to watch Cardinals but I thought I would watch a little since they were winning. When will I freaking learn.
