  1. Typical Cardinal game. Someone burn down that stadium before the next batter.
  2. Seconded. It would be nice to see Counsell stand up for a player every now and then though.
  3. Been awhile since we've seen a good tirade from a Brewer.
  4. I switched to my wife's cell plan a little over a year ago and carried my number over. Since the switch I get wrong number calls, telemarketers, and robo calls almost every other day. I'm pretty sure I never got one of those in the 10 years I was on my old plan. And she pretty much never gets these calls.
  5. If they would have been at home on Friday or Saturday I would have tried to talk the wife into taking the kid to his first baseball game.
  6. Call Dave Stewart before he gets canned. I'm sure he would love another gritty, proven veteran in that rotation so they can win the division next year. But on a serious note, the Orioles generally roll out a trash rotation. Garza for Jimenez (who I think is making a million or so less than Garza but for one more year) and have Baltimore throw in a Stearns Special.
  7. Who was it this year? Or last year? Smith was the only lefty for quite a while.
  8. I like when Rock gets mad at things because they generally are worth getting upset about. However, the way he constantly complains about official scoring is rather annoying.
  9. So Gaedel played for the Browns, first of all, and was considered a disgrace to the game (anti-Cardinal way) so the Cardinals honor him?
  10. Considering the Brewers have zero lefty bullpen options I think he's got a good shot at a spot there.
  11. That is the most confusing part. He said he called time because no one was going after the ball and he didn't want the runners to keep running. Which to me means he know he blew the call. If he thought he made the right call why would he care if the defense wasn't making an effort.
  12. I've only seen Magnifico pitch in his debut and tonight and he's been downright awful. He throws hard, cool. But has no clue where it's going.
  13. I hope so. I'm surprised a Brewer hasn't been drilled yet because they're supposed to just roll over and let the Cardinals win but apparently didn't get the memo. Based on the Cardinal code we owe them a beaning for drilling Braun earlier in the game right? According to the code, Braun is fair game for a drilling anytime he is up because he is a disgrace to the game.
  14. I hope so. I'm surprised a Brewer hasn't been drilled yet because they're supposed to just roll over and let the Cardinals win but apparently didn't get the memo.
  15. Still not comfortable with this lead against the Cardinals.
  16. Except there is no gain on this. The Mets will more than likely be on the losing end of this as the majority of business classes will tell you this is a dumb idea if you are looking at it as a purely as a marketing or publicity gimmick. The amount of money the Mets will have to give over for this will be a net negative. Also what does Garth Brooks and spring training have to do with this? Teams do the celebrity and former players at spring training all the time. The majority of the time especially with celebrities is they normally pay for the opportunity to do this but you just never hear about it or it is for some charity event. The difference between your example of Garth Brooks in spring training and this is that Tebow actually has some talent and has a slim chance of making it to MLB while Garth Brooks who more than likely paid his way onto the spring training roster had no chance hence why he was only there for spring training and not instructionals where there are no tickets sold. How could this be a net negative? The Mets could have signed anyone else with zero experience in affiliated ball and it would have cost them the same amount and that guy would have the same chance of making it as Tebow. I just can't understand the hate and vitriol over this.
  17. He's probably contractually obligated to do the ESPN gig and I'm sure ESPN isn't just going to let him out easily or cheaply. The amount of hate this guy is getting is ridiculous. You'd think he's being gifted a major league starting job and guaranteed to hit cleanup while being paid $25M a year for 10 years.
  18. I only say what I said because the Brewers or Davis himself said he tried first and wasn't comfortable there and hasn't it been reported a couple of times that the Brewers won't move Braun to first? Throw in Weeks and Hardy's public refusal to play other positions and it seems like the Brewers have been very open about position changes.
  19. Has anyone from the Brewers talked about it? I'm not sure but if they haven't then it's pointless for us to want it.
  20. Yeah, he's quickly entering Carl Crawford territory. He never really was that great of a hitter and his defense is really over valued since he's a RF. I guess people thought he would get better since he's young.
  21. Looked like the ball hit nothing but foul dirt on the replay on tv... I wouldn't call this a blunder at all. I don't know. Looked like at least half the ball hit the line to me. I was shocked they called it foul when it happened.
  22. I could tell the ball was fair live. Another replay blunder.
  23. Why? He's having too good of a season to DFA for a minimum salary guy. Stearns might not prefer him starting without wanting to DFA him out of spite to remove the option. Too good a season? I guess a below average OPS+ and slightly above 0 WAR is good for this team but are they actually going to bring him back next year? I'm guessing not. Why keep him on the roster then.
