  1. I'm amazed how much arguing and complaining hitters get away with now compared to what they did even 5 years or so ago. Holliday ran his mouth leaving the box, then stopped and argued for quite a while before FINALLY getting tossed. Yeah, he was right, it was a ball. He still didn't show much class or self control out there on the field where it matters. When you've got tools like Joe West out there, can you blame them?
  2. Wow. So BA and Bill so some real emotion and passion about a stupid scoring decision.
  3. Sorry guys. This one's on me. They just take a huge dump whenever I watch them.
  4. Shut up Bill. Who cares what kind of a "class act" Matt Holiday is.
  5. He's out until Sunday?!? What the... So the bench is weakened by one other guy for four games?? This is the kind of stuff that drives me nuts. DH in Minnesota so the bench isn't really that important but it still does seem kind of dumb.
  6. It's really stupid but it bothers me how the Brewers just constantly recycle the same numbers over and over again. Cravy was 45 and Wagner 59. How many times do we have to see someone wearing 45, 46, 48, and 59? I enjoyed that Thornburg wore 63, Peralta was 60, Fiers was 64, and Henderson was 53. I see that Perez has 14, before Jimenez I think it was awhile since someone wore that. I hope that Peterson keeps 64.
  7. I will actually get the chance to sit and watch this whole game. So, sorry Brewer fans but it's going to be a real stinker. That's just what happens when I watch games.
  8. Just call AJ Preller. He hasn't made a trade in months. He's probably having jitters and night sweats.
  9. I think that has already been decided since Axford has played for 3 teams since he left the Cardinals.
  10. So, why have we ditched batting the pitcher 8th already? Is it because we weren't winning enough games?
  11. This. I have said before, without any reaction here, that the Brewers should establish a Senior VP-Pitching (or whatever they want to call it.) Reports directly to GM, with dotted line to Owner. This would be the single most important thing the Brewers could do to turn things around. One thing I've learned in business is that intense focus is needed to change anything. I firmly believe baseball isn't much different. Find a proven star from a pitching rich organization, and give him the authority to do whatever he needs. Let him bring in new scouts, new ways to develop pitchers, new coaches. Anything. Everything. Let the GM handle the big picture for baseball operations as a whole, and this VP-Pitching would be wholly responsible and accountable for identifying and developing pitchers. Goal should be to take the Brewers from where they are now to a top 5-7 organization for pitching talent. Do that, and you've WHOA SOLVVD a lot of the problems this organization has today. Wasn't this the plan with Rick Peterson, and then he was just kind of shoved aside.
  12. I was going to see the comments before I added my own. This article basically a load of bologna specifically because of what some have pointed out that they don't even say how they came to their conclusion. Of course AJ Ellis is going to look like a great catcher when he catches Kershaw and Greinke in 40% of his games. And the line: "It's no coincidence that two of the last four Cy Young winners threw to the Tigers' Alex Avila." Yes, it is actually when those guys are Scherzer and Verlander. Outside of having a top guy or two the Tigers pitching has been nothing special. What a horrible article.
  13. Well someone else needs to want to have the Brewers for that to work. I don't know what MLB franchises will be "free agents" in two years but I would guess the Brewers are probably near the bottom of the list in terms of attractiveness.
  14. You are assuming people are going to Miller Park to watch a baseball game instead of because it's sort of a hip thing to do. Although that is certainly changing fast.
  15. Still watching some old fart stand in the dugout with a proverbial constant shoulder shrug as to why using the same players the same way is getting the same results.
  16. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12880518/mlb-best-game-caller-dodgers-catcher-aj-ellis Total runs saved by catchers based on "Game Calling" from 2012-2014 and Lucroy isn't even in the top 10.
  17. Colorado Springs may be even worse than Coors Field. The city is about 1000 feet higher than Denver. Not to get totally off topic but isn't the issue in those places the huge outfields (deep fences) leading to lots of extra base hits and not so much the amount of homeruns? If that's the case, I don't think it should make a difference for hitters. It's not like they're going up there just trying to put the ball in the air and hope it goes out like right handed hitters in Houston.
