  1. The guy was a starting shortstop at a very good D1 school. I just can't understand how he was such a disaster at 3rd.
  2. The current colors with ball & glove would be awesome. I've seen it suggested on this forum before and I fully agree, I wish they'd do this. To me, it's the uniform and the gold not the logo. The M with barley and ball and glove are both great logos. If the Brewers were to keep the current set, I just wish they would lose the clunky Brewers cursive on the front and replace it with a M with barley over the heart like the Yankees NY. That cursive drives me nuts as the angle of Brewers varies as it goes across the chest from uniform to uniform. I agree the Brewers script is bad. I find it boring and bland. The M and barley logo I'm rather indifferent to. I wouldn't mind going back to something like the original Brewers scheme with the block M and lettering.
  3. It's Khris Davis from Spring Training last year. [sarcasm]Yes, it's Billy Hamilton from that one time he played for the Brewers.[/sarcasm]
  4. Has Lara even played in the US yet? Expecting him to be ready in 2016 is very wishful thinking?
  5. Likely and after the 2015 season so people don't freak out.
  6. Is there any reliever that Brewerfan likes? Krod is terrible. Broxton's a dumpster fire. Kinzler's a waste of money. Papelbon is about to crash and burn. The guy who gets crapped on the least here seems to be Will Smith and how he's apparently not a loogy. The guy whose career OPS against RHB is .826.
  7. For a Brewer fan, a ST move to Florida would be terrible (unless you already live near Florida). I just can't see anything good about the fan experience for Florida spring training.
  8. As a fan, I would rather watch KRod give up a game on a homer every now and then than Axford or Turnbow who would just walk guys and then throw one down the middle for a game losing double.
  9. What part of Broxton is a dumpster fire? The 2.92 ERA or 1.108 WHIP the last three years? If that's dumpster fire, then what is KRod? Over the same time frame he's got a 3.47 ERA and 1.173 WHIP.
  10. Of course the Cardinals have to take first in even this. Nothing special about their uniforms. While I do like the bird on the bat, overall they are just meh and red like most of the rest of baseball.
  11. [sarcasm]Those are going to be quite some bus trips from Australia.[/sarcasm]
  12. Bref has him at 2.5 WAR the last 3 years. Fangraphs has him at .1 WAR the last 3 years. That's quite a difference.
  13. I would generally agree that KRod will be the closer even if he blows a bunch of games. However, when he signed last year he didn't sign to be the closer. Henderson was coming off of a tremendous season and was the closer all the way up until a few minutes before the start of opening day when Ron decided to make the switch. Henderson struggled and was never even considered to go back to closing. Even before KRod was acquired Broxton wasn't named the closer despite being the obvious "old school" choice. I think management is more flexible with the "closer" position than many here want to believe.
  14. Yeah, I don't want anything to do with a 'shot clock' or anything for batters or pitchers. If re-adjusting his batting gloves puts Braun's mind/body at ease in the batter's box, so be it. Same goes for anyone else, honestly. I know I always used to fidget & pull up the sleeve on my back arm as I was getting set in the box. The sleeve wouldn't prevent me from hitting the ball (my lack of talent took care of that), but it was something that just made me feel comfortable once I got the sleeve positioned in a way that felt like it wasn't impeding my swing. It's habit, probably something similar to what free throw shooters go through before taking the foul shot. Except free throw shooters are on the clock. In the amount of time it takes the catcher to throw the ball back to the pitcher and both agree on a pitch a hitter should have plenty of time to mentally do whatever he has to do. Another thing the players can change is that catchers need to start putting down signs as soon as the pitcher is on the rubber. MLB catchers wait until the batter is in the box and ready before they even start putting signs down.
  15. I just read a potential 18 game suspension. If true, apparently worse than PED's gets you 32 games less than PED's.
  16. I was hoping for a Seinfeld-type ending. Something that had finality to it but wasn't sentimental or anything.
  17. Hank is having another bobblehead day this year. He is still very much with the team.
  18. The finale was last night. (spoilers below) They did what I've always wanted to see a finale to do in showing the rest of the characters' lives but I didn't really like it. It wasn't bad, I just didn't like it. I would have preferred a somewhat "normal" episode to end on.
  19. David Robertson got $10M+ a year this offseason. No one in their right mind should give KRod $10M in any season, especially in the middle of spring training. He made $3.25M last year, I think doubling that to $6.5M this year would be fair but there can't be many teams that have that much space in their budget right now.
  20. The only thing I've ever watched on it is Parks and Rec. They ran the first 6 seasons all weekend and they do 2 hour blocks like 4 times a day (maybe an exaggeration). The only other shows I think they even show are Friday Night Tykes where adults yell at and abuse 10 year olds who play football and The Short Game where parents yell at and abuse 8 year old who play golf.
  21. Because only a few could afford him and everyone else knew that.
  22. The equally crazy thing is that the Twins are only paying for 15% of it. They couldn't contribute more than $8M to developing their own players?
  23. Over react much? As if the Brewers had any shot at signing him.
  24. 3 days in a row of Parks and Rec on the Esquire Network. Which apparently only shows Parks and Rec and shows about parents abusing their children through sports.
  25. $60M. $30M to the player, $30M to the league.
