  1. If the Brewers lose a lead and the series in the 8th inning because Hader only pitches the 9th both he and Counsell better be grilled about it.
  2. Exactly. They are the best run organization in all of pro sports right now. If fans don't want to go to the ballpark to watch that then they don't deserve a team. And I know everyone loves to rip on Luira but the guy shelled out money to win two Championships. Ya, he blew it apart and penny pinched the rest of the time but his trophy case has more hardware than most other owners.
  3. Pitch clock yes for the love of god. There is no reason pitchers need to take as long as they do between pitches especially with the bases empty. A pitch clock would probably have a slight reduction in shifting as I bet a lot of time between pitches is spent waiting for all the infielders to look at their positioning card and then having the 3B to run halfway across the field to go play short RF and then back.
  4. Exactly this. It's not the playoffs, it's a play-in. No one is hanging up a banner for being WC2. I hope not at least.
  5. Less than a week to go. Let's not rush into things here.
  6. If he were to make the postseason roster, any innings he would pitch would be in blowouts or way extra innings so whatever.
  7. As much as this sucks, the Brewers success in the playoffs is almost going to completely dependent on which offense shows up.
  8. Lauer is likely to be traded at some point. Perhaps Stearns feels this past year he pitched over his head and will cash in on that. Certainly could make the trade look a lot better.
  9. Surprised more injuries don't occur after celebrations with all the emotions and alcohol involved.
  10. WWE had a PPV in Ohio the next night. I'm sure they wanted to focus all their resources on that instead of a baseball game.
  11. La Russa's teams doing more La Russa stuff. Jose Abreu got hit on an 0-2 pitch and then gave a late and hard slide into second on a wild pitch and then proceeded to jaw with the 2B resulting in the benches clearing. La Russa said stupid stuff after the game about how they don't play dirty and blah, blah, blah.
  12. Dropped him too but he's a distant 4th at best on my WR depth chart so not fretting it at all.
  13. Last year was the first time he missed a game.
  14. Well the Panthers D didn't bust as I was afraid of but they really didn't do much either. Really could have used a couple INT's.
  15. Don't discount voters holding it against Corbin that he missed games due to COVID and not being vaccinated.
  16. Likely this is just a smokescreen by the Colts so that Titans prepare for 2 different QB's instead of 1. Eason was talked up all August as the guy to start if Wentz wasn't healthy.
  17. "Reports" that the Mets are interested in bringing in both the A's Billy Beane and Bob Melvin together. Maybe there is some truth to this stuff but it's just as likely writers see a big market team needs a new GM so they look at who's running successful small market teams and make things up.
  18. The Cardinals hacked into the Miller Park mainframe and took control of the ribbon boards to distract the hitters.
  19. What are the chances the Brewers defeat the Cardinals to win the division but the Cardinals clinch the wild card in the same game because someone else lost? Can both teams celebrate after the game?
  20. Is this was a Sunday or Monday game I would have no concerns but Thursday nights are such crapshoots.
  21. Anyone following card gate? Blue Jays drill Keirmeier because yesterday he picked up the catcher's scouting report card after a play at the plate. Joe West actually does something I can support and tosses the pitcher. Jays pitching coach goes ballistic and also gets tossed. Jays bench gives high fives to the pitcher as he gets to the dugout. Of all the petty things players get drilled for this is certainly near the top of the list. And it was so important that they get retaliation that they waited until the 8th inning of a 7-2 game they were going to lose and had a nobody pitcher do it.
  22. Worried about not winning the division? Not at all. Worried about helping to propel the Cardinals to another deep playoff run and possible world title? Absolutely.
  23. If this wasn't happening against the Cards I doubt many people would be concerned. I hate that they've allowed them to basically clinch the 2nd wild card and stay hot. That team was dead a couple weeks ago and now they're looking like the hottest team in baseball heading in to the playoffs.
  24. Arcia started out hot when the Braves first called him up and many here were lamenting we traded him. Take a look at his numbers now. He started out 4-11 with a HR in Atlanta but since then his OPS is .432. I didn't think it was possible but he's actually gotten worse as a hitter.
  25. Someone assure me Carolina's D won't get lit up this week. I totally understand all the reasons why they should have a solid week and I agree with them. However, this is a Thursday night game and those are always a total cluster in reality and fantasy. This seems like one of those perfect fantasy situations where all the experts and non-experts alike agree on something and then it goes total bust and everyone looks stupid. The Raiders are my other option.
