    Bickford is just as likely to be horrible next year or the rest of this season as he is to continue his success. Such is the life of relief pitchers, as we have all witnessed the last few years. I'm not going to even be concerned about him until he can replicate what's he's done so far over at least another season.

    Not having Taylor for a few days to hold on to Dan until rosters expands should be a no brainer.

    I assumed they played on the actual site from the movie. Not that I thought much about this whole thing to begin with but I think even less of it now.

    They should play in the Metrodome in honor of Little Big League or Major League 3.

    Haven't watched any of the game but I've been enjoying the Townball Tuesday Twitter ripping the game to shreds because thousands of people play baseball games in a cornfield everyday in the midwest.

    That's nice that he's not totally sucking in the minors but there is absolutely no one on the current MLB team that he should replace.

    He's a 30 year old journeyman with 7 (really good) MLB innings in his career. I think we need to hold back a little on assuming he's going to be an improvement over the other 30+ year old journeymen we've been cycling through.

    If it looks like rain during the game do they skip Burnes so they don't waste him like Ashby last night?

    Am I the only one who hasn't really even noticed he wasn't on the team this year? There hasn't been one time where I thought "Hey, where's Braun?" or "This would be a spot where it would nice to have Ryan back."

    Dinger barely sounds like what he was accused of saying and more importantly it is a common baseball word. To change it based off of this one incident would be incredibly stupid.

    Cain looks like he's about 60 when he's just standing holding a bat too.

    The Brewers have a few grants they give out every year. The park I'm involved in has looked into it as we've been trying to put lights on some more diamonds. Not sure of the exact details because I'm not directly involved in it but we don't qualify because your field has to basically be a total dump and need to be completely redone and we don't have enough kids participating to even be considered. Which I guess isn't a bad thing in itself but it seems like they only want projects that they can get a big PR bump out of.

    Watson is practicing with the Texans. He doesn't want to play for them. The Texans don't want him to play for them. And no team is going to trade for him until his legal troubles are over or the league decides if and how long to suspend him. Do the Texas deactivate him every game if this isn't solved by the regular season? Does Watson refuse to play if they don't? What a weird situation.

    I can totally understand how a player on the field would hear what he said and think he said the bad thing but the video and audio evidence pretty much proves that's not what he said. But, of course, this is all just a coverup by the Rockies and the guy.

    I assume he is blaming Counsell for Jimmy Nelson getting hurt.

    With such a big lead in the division it's probably better in the long run to play a little short now than get games all bunched up at the end of the season and burn the team out before the playoffs.

    No thanks. If anything teams need to be rewarded for success a little bit in the draft. After the first round I would give all the playoff teams an extra pick with the worst getting 31 and so on down. Eliminate all the competitive balance pick non-sense. Never should amateurs be straight up free agents in pro sports. There's enough back room deals and shady goings on with international free agents. Now imagine Boras and others like him getting the opportunity to do the same.

    Would that still be subject to the usual 10 day mandatory stay (except to replace an injury) or could they add anyone from the 40 man roster at will. This is kind of where I was going. I would assume those rules would all still apply. If they don't then cutting down the size of expanded rosters makes no difference at all if players can just be constantly shuffled back and forth off the active roster.

    The owners are also the ones who started hiring scores of math whizzes and computer nerds when they saw it gave them an advantage. Now every organization does it. Like you said, all it takes is one team to do it and reap the benefits then everyone else will follow suit.

    With only two extra roster spots in September are teams still able to call up and send down those two extra spots or are they locked in for the month?

    This is what I don't get either. Pay is whatever. If they don't like it there are tens of thousands of young men out there who would take their spot for less. But if organizations want their minor leaguers to perform at the their best and develop to their full potential providing excellent nutrition and adequate housing seems like a no brainer and well worth the cost.

    Kind makes sense with Hader but still surprising he never got one when Josh was unavailable or just lucked into one.

    I have nothing against players getting paid big bucks but these huge, long term contracts are always a disaster yet every idiot fan and media dolt calls teams cheap or greedy when they don't sign guys to one.
