  1. Is Pujols now out of the All-star game, because of his injury? If so.. It's between Votto and Fielder and they are pretty close in the voting. Vote for Fielder.
  2. That's not exactly true. I would think by adding Trout to CF and Gamel to 1B that those two combined could help a lot to balance the loss of production by trading Fielder as soon as this season. Yes the Angels are in 1st place, but how do they compare with other teams in the AL if they were to get to the playoffs? Also it's only a little bit over a month into the season and things could change. Trumbo is not Prince Fielder.
  3. To be fair we don't know if he is going to test the market. Has he said it? If the Brewers let him walk yes he will test FA, but if they trade him to a team that has the money to re-sign him (Angels) then they could very well work out a deal. This makes sense to me because it's mainly about this season and the Angels making a move to improve their chances this season. That could very well be enough to move Mike Trout.
  4. I think they could use Fielder at 1B or DH to put them over the top and to make up for the loss of Morales. Fielder has almost double the RBI's of Hunter and is an elite hitter. I would think that the Angels would favor Fielder over any one of their hitters and would want a player like him more than a top prospect that has yet to prove himself in Mike Trout. The Angels are in contention right now and could be looking for that player to put them over the edge come mid-season and Fielder could be it. If the Angels come calling I'd bet everything that Doug Melvin will demand Mike Trout since Fielder is an elite mlb hitter. If the Angels say no then no deal. The Brewers don't need a 1B man back in a trade for Fielder, because they have Gamel. The Brewers however could use a player of Mike Trouts caliber in CF and in the line-up.
  5. It wouldn't be a 1 for 1 deal. It would involve multiple players on both sides probably more so on the Brewers. The Brewers would have to give the Angels some insurance.
  6. The LA Angels just lost their 1B man for the season (Kendrys Morales). Does anybody think they could make a big splash for Prince Fielder? I'm thinking that they are in need enough for a big time 1B man this season that they might be able to entice Doug Melvin to trade Fielder even if the Brewers are still in it come mid-season. Plus, if they land Fielder they will get 1st dibs at re-signing him and they have the money to do it. They also could use more production at DH perhaps next season if they choose not to keep Fielder at 1B. Fielder could be on their radar past this season, and might not view him as a rental. The way Mike Trout is playing in AA for the Angels it seems like he is destined for a mid-season call-up. DM would probably demand Mike Trout to start serious talks about a trade involving Fielder. I was thinking Fielder/Komatsu/Pitcher for Trout/Thompson Trout could take over in CF for the Brewers within a month or two and be their future CF for many years. I hear this kid has a ton of hype surrounding him and many people are saying he is a star already. Tons of talent. Thompson would be inserted in an unstable bullpen and give it a much needed boost. Mat Gamel would be called up to play 1B. This trade I feel would help the Brewers this season and in the future and save them enough money to re-sign Greinke/ or Marcum. What do you think?
  7. Ok, that's good. I don't recall "a lot" of missed balls by Betancourt so far this season. Mainly because of Roenicke's shifts and smart defensive alignments. If anything Roenicke's plan for aligning the defense has improved Betancourt's defense, and even the team as a whole. That's what I've noticed.
  8. Now that Mark Rogers is fully stretched out (95 pitches the other night) does anybody think he could get the next start over Estrada? or did the fact that Rogers walk 5 batter in 4.2 innings do him in?
  9. Is that not the Brewers of the last 8 years?Yes, very inconsistent on offense. If the Brewers can't manufacture runs when they need to and they rely mainly on the home run they will always be inconsistent. It also irritates me because I know that if they make the playoffs they will likely lose because of their inconsistent offense, and the fact that they wont take what the pitcher gives them, but rather swing for the fences. You have to be able to go the other way in the playoffs to score runs.
  10. I have to say I'm disappointed in the Brewers approach at the plate, because they took so long to go the other way and hit what the pitcher gives them. The majority of the pitches they tried to pull and hit out of the park. Mainly Mcgehee and Almonte. That's why Wood was so effective early on. It also should have been a 3-2 game, but Fielder dropped an easy ball. However, with that said I like that Marcum settled down and loved the good relief pitching. That was good to see.
  11. 95 wins, Brewers run away with the division.
  12. I personally think Rickie Weeks is. However, I understand your point.
  13. Morgan will probably take over for Corey Hart in RF before he plays any CF.
  14. When is Mark Rogers supposed to pitch next? It's seems like it's been a wile.
  15. Wow. I'm now feeling a little better about missing Greinke for a couple starts.
  16. Logan Schafer could be an option around mid-season.
  17. If Hart and Lucroy start on the DL they will probably be back on April 6th which is the first day they could come back. That's 4 games they will miss. Greinke will miss 2-3 starts. Marcum is going to pitch here Saturday and has been out with shoulder stiffness. Stiffness in the shoulder is common in ST. So I'm not confident this has anything to do with poor mechanics or if it's considered an injury. We will find out soon. I think the defense will actually be better, but that's not saying much. I'm not sure where you get 3 liabilities? Unless you think Lucroy can't hit, which he has shown he can do in the minors and only has a little over a half season experience in the Majors.. Here's how I look at it. There is no way the Brewers will be worse than last year unless you think Greinke, Marcum, Axford, Braddock, Saito, Lucroy are downgrades from the players they are replacing. The players they are replacing were pretty bad, and it's hard to get much worse then them. This Brewers team in my opinion wins 85+ games with a bad defense, not having all of their offensive players till April 6th, and not having Greinke for 2-3 starts. Now whether or not they make the playoffs is a different story. I think they can, but it will be close.
  18. His release point for his fastball is probably the same as his curveball. That in it's self is very deceptive.
  19. I want the Good the Bad and the Ugly. That's a one of a kind entrance song and IMO can't be matched. Everybody knows what movie it's from and what it represents. It's perfect for the 9th inning. Like Hells Bells was perfect for Hoffman.
  20. I live 2 hours from the stadium. I will keep an eye on the local forecast, and if I can, provide some additional info in regards to the weather that day. Just an FYI, I wouldn't even look at the 10 day forecast for any city in OH, because that is way to far out and it's usually way off base. The weather in Ohio changes so rapidly it's not even funny.
  21. Why create vacancy in the back-end of the bullpen when you don't need to? The Reds have a good amount of starting pitching in my opinion. I can understand this move.
  22. This might actually be a potentially smart move depending of what they do with Cordero's 12 million after he leaves. The Reds have a good amount of starting pitching. Don't get me wrong I would be scared to death to see Chapman in their rotation, because he could potentially be pretty good, but they could do a lot with that 12 million. Just saying..
  23. Did Plesac even talk about Mark Rogers in his prospect breakdown? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he did. I can't believe that lack of coverage on Mark Rogers in general, but you'd think Plesac would have at least mentioned his name considering that Mark Rogers pitched 9 no hit innings for the Brewers last September and is now the Brewers number 1 prospect in the system. That part of the show was a little bit of a let down in my view.
  24. Now that Peralta got crushed and could barely get a guy out yesterday who else do the Brewers have? The only other options I can think of would be Scarpetta and Rivas, but are they even stretched out? If not, then are the Brewers forced to look outside the organization? Why in the world did the Brewers option them to the minors? This really sucks for the Brewers, because they will not just need a replacement for Greinke starts, but potentially Marcums as well? Wow.
