  1. Bianchi's stance reminds me a lot of Hardy. The only differences I see are Hardy's odd thumb positioning (like a golfer, not a baseball player) and his swing looking like shoulders/upper arms. But in terms of stance, they look the same
  2. I would consider trading Gallardo in July or the offseason if the package is right. I really like having him, and would love to extend him. But I think back to the early '00's when I was in college in the Bay Area. The A's lost or traded Hudson, Zito, Mulder, and Harang, yet they continued to be strong. Sometimes we need to remember that players are assets and can be moved if the better deal comes along. It would take a massive deal for me to trade Yo, but I could see Houston, Texas, San Diego, LA, LA, Boston, NY etc all getting into a bidding war for him.
  3. The 'Stache, I found it frustrating you wrote "gone" by Lawrie, Jeffress, and LaPorta. They aren't really gone, as that implies ineffective. They were highly valuable trading chips that allowed us to add all-stars.
  4. Vegas, Mcgehee was not starting ahead of Mat initially... Bill Hall was. Mcgehee was playing lots of 2b
  5. good news is that I believe this would allow the brewers to reset his rehab, right?
  6. Kintzler has been throwing poorly. Not as poorly as Axford, but I could see Sanchez and Wooten (or K-Rod) replacing them for the time period
  7. pretty sweet. I saw Kemp in the Fall League and--while he wasn't my favorite player--he Andy LaRoche were so far ahead of the other Dodgers players that it was laughable. The others were mainly douchebags. Both of these guys were immature, but both really good guys. I think that--in hindsight--it was the fault of the Dodgers that they didn't teach young kids how to behave, be a role model, or treat others around them. Obviously, Kemp gets it now. Good job Matt
  8. we haven't heard of the Brewers being accused of skimping with the draft since the Taylor/Bando eras. Not sure why that came up. I generally like drafting hitting in early rounds, then high ceiling HS pitchers after that. But to the point, this Cards pitching depth is new. It wasn't this way 1, 2, or 5 years ago. Remember the Cards fan that used to come here complaining about how they always took college pitching while our fans complained we always took HS kids?
  9. HiAndTight, actually Halladay was sent down to A-ball. I believe that--as of last year--he still holds the record for highest ever ERA in a season for a starting pitcher. For much of the early parts of their careers, Chris Carpenter and Roy Halladay had the stuff of a #1 but--by TooLiveBrew's logic--were profiled as either #5's or AAAA-types. They both flat out sucked early in their careers.
  10. vegasbrewcrew, the problem is that Gennett likely is not an impact bat. Nothing says that he is. And you mention getting on base consistently...sorry, but it's unlikely that Gennett carries an OBP higher than Weeks. I suggest if you want OBP, you check out Nick Shaw in AA.
  11. Not sure how Peralta's ceiling is as a #2. He throws 95-98 with lots of movement, has a huge slider, and a very good changeup. His ceiling is a top flight #1 and his floor is a power setup man.
  12. Dear God, I haven't heard "hella" since I graduated college in 2003. You just gave me horrible flashbacks to stupid California girls managing to fit that pseudo-word into a sentence 3 or more times. I was grateful that by 2003 that expression was dying out in California. Still, I blame CA and WA for ever making that expression popular. If I'm ever hella good at something, please shoot me.
  13. Ah, I expected this to be from the other side. I just don't know anybody that smokes, so I assumed you were here to complain about someone smoking. Anyways, tough dilemma. Some people freak out too much. But some people aren't very respectful with their smoking. I guess I would suggest talking with your neighbor to solve the issue.
  14. I have a few based on statistics over the last few years. I still think Gindl will have a nice big league career as a 4th OF. Wooten and the other AAA relievers should have good careers as well. But my sleepers are Big Brock and Nick Shaw (love the OBP skills, although I'm not sure how his defense is. He has played considerable SS) edit: wanted to add that I'm glad to see one of my sleepers from the last two years has emerged as a prospect--Josh Prince. I've been wrong on lots of players, but it's fun when we're right with someone.
  15. TheCrew07, you mention a prospect trio in AAA. Who is the third player? Perhaps Khris Davis? Based on everything we've read, I'm not expecting much out of Gennett or Morris. Hopefully they have good years. With Morris, I've learned to not get excited about 1 good year (heck, Taylor Green had two good years). With Scooter, it's the defensive comments, lack of walks, etc. I don't care about power, but hitting .300 with a .320 obp isn't going to help much. I'm starting to believe in Khris Davis and Kentrail Davis, just as I believe in Gindl. I love following Big Brock and hold out some hope that the ultra-toolsy Dishon will show us something. Garfield and Hawn are playing well. And who doesn't love that Wisconsin lineup!?!?!
  16. I personally hate Replay in the NFL. It's a total joke that the NFL has made replays into this drama in which coaches have a limited amount of challenges. Seriously, I want the calls right. With MLB, I think all HR's should be reviewed in the booth or to a team in NYC (as currently). But it should be instantaneous. The ump should give an initial signal. If called fair, while rounding the bases the play can be reviewed. If called foul, the batter can step out for a quick moment. Strikes and balls should not be reviewable. But some plays in the field should be reviewable for determining player interference or dead ball (e.g., Maldonado being hit by his batted ball in fair or foul territory, runner inside line on way to first is hit by thrown ball, etc). They should let the plays happen live, then review them. Foul/fair is very difficult. Do we want umps to call everything fair until reviewed? Or last night the phantom tag when Weeks was picked off first. I don't want them reviewing from 12 angles whether or not the tag was made before the player touched the bag. Do we want to start punishing shortstops for the phantom tags at 2b when turning two? It seems to me that the Brewers players are getting killed out there on GIDP's because they ACTUALLY touch the bag while other teams are missing it by quite a bit. Yet when I see Segura almost get killed, I wish he would start with the phantom tags. okay, enough ranting.
  17. While the lab may not have been a legitimate clinic that athletes should have been visiting, let's keep in mind that many likely thought these were natural or non-synthetic drugs. It's obvious that this place likely have a good reputation among athletes. While it might seem odd for us that they went there (over a certified, reputable place), most athletes I've met are not the kind to do research before buying something, tending instead to go by what people say.
  18. what was his second injury? I only remember the ACL
  19. MJLiverock, I have that. I get lots of great analysis on my stocks each day with the push notifications. I just like the wonderful simplicity of the Stocks App. Very simple, very intuitive, and lots of good reports. I do love the Motley Fool insight as well.
  20. jmeks23, is Telly still on the broadcasts? I haven't noticed him. While Sophia bothers me, she's so much better than Telly.
  21. nice to see two underrated Stars off to good starts. I've enjoyed following Kentrail Davis and Nick Shaw's strong OBP's over the years. Both tend to have OBPs far above their average, and this year are hitting enough to have OBP's over .400 so far.

  23. I can say I was at Wrigley for his first career home run. And sadly, one of the doubleheader games was started by Ben Diggins...ouch! Well, let's just win another nine. Let's make this like 2011 when we won like 28 of 32 or whatever it was. It'll be perfect timing for Hart coming back
