  1. Coulter is a minor league free agent, so I doubt he gets the call. Grisham or Ray would be good bets. I could see guys like Ponce or Kirby, too. Maybe Diplan. I know it's going way back, but Wolfe, Bausher, etc were minor league free agents. I thought Coulter wasn't a minor league free agent until around Nov 1? That would mean he's still Brewers property and could be added to the 40-man roster as he has some power, historically showed OBP skills, and the Brewers are lacking at 1b and LF with those skills in the upper minors. If he's finally healthy or has figured something out, he still has time. He's only 25.
  2. The Brewers have traditionally sent some players coming back from injury or players with something to prove. My guess is that Clint Coulter goes. Grisham isn't a bad bet. I'd guess Bickford is a lock. Corbin Burnes to get more innings. Maybe Devin Williams
  3. Coulter certainly has tools. There's still a chance for him. Guys like Phil Nevin, Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista, Jose Guillen, etc didn't break through until later
  4. Coulter has had a tremendous 2nd half. He’s deserved this. I wonder if he was battling injury in the 1h
  5. Is Taylor playing his way into a 40-man spot? Still just 24, showing that power. He needs to work on walks, but there are plenty of players that have improved their OBP in their mid-to-late 20s.
  6. Calling someone up for a month doesn't give up a year of control. He would still need 6 full seasons to reach free agency. If you're talking about options, is that really a concern? Braun, Fielder, Weeks, etc may have used 1 option at most.
  7. The cutter has given alot of pitchers new life or addition to their repertoire. I remember hearing years ago and since about many pitchers adding the cutter and adding years to their career. I like DJ but the genie has been out for sometime Old news What is more interesting is the attack on hitters up in the zone with the FB from Our hardest thrower to softest. When you find that article for me, holla That’s what Doug Davis, Sheets, etc thrived. When Ben scrapped the 2-seamer and let the 4-seamer fly, his velocity jumped and he dramatically increased his Ks as a result of the high cheese becoming a 2nd strikeout pitch.
  8. I know he's a non-prospect at this point, but Coulter has a line of .305/.389/.561 (950ops) in the 2nd half. Was he battling injury?
  9. I'll bet he goes back on the DL soon with a phantom injury
  10. Well, we've noticed all season the Brewers tend to win a lot on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays but can't sweep. So I looked at the numbers entering today: Brewers: total 65-49 Sundays 4-13 all other days 61-36
  11. Stephen Drew was an outstanding person, had good range, high baseball IQ, power, walks/OBP, etc. I think that's a good comp for anyone to have. Plus, comps in rookie ball mean nothing
  12. potentially a perfect night for the organization
  13. From what I've heard, I'm not sure that's a good thing. I miss George Webb’s so much! Breakfast at all hours, best hashbrowns in the world, and tasty burgers.
  14. can we trade Albers for the Albers we saw in April and May? This guy is terrible right now
  15. It would be a lot easier to come back from a surgery like Tommy John's. UCL injuries have a very high rate of success. Shoulders are still very hit-or-miss. It wasn't that long ago that Ace pitchers like Ramon Martinez, Pedro Martinez, Brandon Webb, Mark Prior, Mark Mulder, and Alex Fernandez were forced to retire early due to shoulders that never fully responded to surgery.
  16. And he still might continue his breakout. He should be ready to go full-speed in spring training
  17. id.me has a 15% Leesa discount for teachers. we did our research and decided to try it. the 100-day trial sounded good too.
  18. If he is pitching they could easily work him up to a starter role if they really wanted to. I really don’t see why he could only go one inning at best. You make it sound like they are going to bring back a half injured Nelson. If he is healthy he can work up a workload. Not saying the Brewers will do that, but they could. When someone has only done light jogging after a knee replacement, you don't immediately ask them to run a marathon.
  19. I think the Leesa was like $900. I think I saved some as part of a teacher discount as well
  20. We have a Casper in our guest room and we sleep on a Leesa. To us the clear winner has been Leesa. It’s extremely comfortable, and after 2 years I’ve barely noticed my spot settle. I’m 5’11” 215-225. One thing we didn’t like with the Casper was its odor. My wife is very odor sensitive, and it took a couple weeks for the odor to go away.
  21. I was weary of the Khris Davis trade. I initially despised the Parra trade until he outperformed expectations. This trade may haunt us for years to come...on paper it look brutal.
  22. Sometimes guys like Hamels are rejuvenated by a trade. Most baseball fans on here ridiculed some of us last year for suggesting trying to get Verlander, saying he was done
  23. Tim Dillard's line may be one of the weirdest ones I've ever seen.
  24. First of all, I kept complaining during the derby that every pitcher (except Aguilar's) was quick-pitching. Aguilar's was slow pitching. I don't mind the Harper complaints, because 1) the balls were already over the fence, and 2) if the pitcher waits for the ump rather than anticipating, then the player is going to miss out on swings.
