  1. How about this brewers team. Not sure what to make of them, they can be so frustrating yet so incredibly impressive at the same time. 13-5 is way better than I could have hoped for heading into Easter Sunday.
  2. Wow Reynolds... Impressive! Brewers Win! Ugly... but on the road, I'll take it
  3. Sadly... Clint Hurdle isn't so willing to run into any outs.
  4. Nice Win! Good to salvage a game against the Cards. Last time the Crew lost 2 straight games, the went on to win 9 straight
  5. Nice at bat by Overbay with bases loaded. Like seeing Walks with bases loaded
  6. Another nice outing by Peralta 6.1 in. 1 ER 1BB 3SO lowering his ERA to 1.96
  7. Schafer must be leading the league in reaching on an error
  8. Peralta looks sharp today. Lots of ground ball outs. Kelly working effectively inside and on the corners. Crew need to turn on a few of those.
  9. Ten games into the season, Brewers have the best record in Baseball! Only 152 more victories to go!
  10. Tell that to the 1985 Cardinals. Fair Enough. But for every blown call also benefits someone else. Kansas City was pretty pleased with Denkinger's blown call at 1st. Helped them win game 6 and the series I can certainly understand the need to get the call right. Roenicke's successful challenge tonight on Segura's tag is a good example how it should work. Baseball has a lot of close plays. I just hope we're not headed to where we're challenging every single one of them.
  11. Blown calls have been apart of Baseball for decades and hasn't hurt the game one bit. I hated Football for opening this can of worms and am saddened that Baseball, as well as other sports, has adopted it as well. I am actually glad to have a manager who doesn't feel the need to run out on the field to question every close play, only those that are clearly egregious. I think that approach shows respect for the Umpires and the game of Baseball.
  12. DM: Ron, you're keeping Wang! Ron: What? DM: You're Keeping Wang. He's good for the long-term future. Ron: But I wanna win now! DM: My decision is final! Ron: OK, but if I'm keeping Wang, I want Overbay! DM: Why? He looks washed up. Ron: I need more veteran grittiness. DM: Fair enough. I have no idea what really lead to this decision, this is simply my guess as to how this final roster decision came about, if even indeed both Overbay and Wang are on the roster.
  13. My Robin Yount memory is being lucky enough to be chosen to have my picture taken with him in 1977, when I was 10 yrs old. We had just moved into the area and my mother, being a huge baseball fan, signed us up for the Brewers Pepsi fan club. I was one of a select few chosen randomly for the picture, and I was the 1st. I remember being in awe as I was ushered down onto the field at old county stadium (first base line) and among a huge gathering of media types and other players, coaches, ect. I saw Robin talking to a very attractive young lady (must have been a media personality, she had a mic in her hand ,but they weren't filming and she wasn't using it.) The promoter went over to Robin and interrupted, which drew a momentary annoyed glance from Robin. Even at 10 yrs. old, I remember thinking, OK, this is a bit Awkward. But Robin Yount made it anything but awkward. He came over and introduced himself, as though I didn't know he was Robin Yount, asked for my name and where I was from and gave me advice about working hard and always pursuing your dreams. When the photo was taken, Robin messed up my hair just at the last moment. So 2 weeks later I received an autographed photo of a smiling Robin Yount messing up my hair.
  14. I pretty much agree with everything here, Braun doesn't deserve the MVP. However, Braun didn't "win" the MVP in 2011, it was something awarded to him by the Baseball writers. Braun could give back or sell the trophy and donate the proceeds to charity and it still doesn't change the fact he's the 2011 MVP. The award is just a trophy. Only the Baseball writers can decide to strip him of the award, re-vote and award it to someone else. Surprisingly, they haven't chosen to do so. Still... Parting with the trophy, especially to benefit a worthy charity, seems like something Braun should consider. Regardless though, people who want to hate Braun are going to hate him no matter what he chooses to do. As for myself, in my old age I learned along time ago not to get to caught up idolizing athletes in any sport. It's best to root for the team, and as long as Braun contributes to the success of the team, all is good. I don't have to forgive or even necessarily like him.
  15. Hank Aaron hospitalized. Apparently the nasty weather got him. Get well soon Hammerin' Hank http://www.jrn.com/tmj4/wi-sports/milwaukee-brewers/Report-Hank-Aaron-hospitalized-245684991.html
  16. For what little it's worth, When Lyle Overbay was here before, I liked the fact he was a left handed first baseman. Having his glove on the right hand allowed Overbay to apply quick tags on pick-off throws. If I recall correctly, Chris Capuano had something like 12 pick-offs one season. I think Overbay not having to reach across his body had a little to do with that. Hopefully, he still has a little of that mojo in him.
  17. I'm no lawyer, but I believe Anthony Bosch isn't being investigated for supplying PED's to athletes, the Fed's are investigating him for Fraud and practicing medicine without a license. The Fed's don't appear all that interested in the PED angle. MLB and the media are the only interested party. MLB is suing Anthony Bosch, a frivolous lawsuit that I think even MLB knows it's unlikely to win. However, I believe it's the only way for MLB's lawyers to gather evidence and depose witnesses for their investigation. Given all that, I think it's reasonable to presume if he had sold PED's to Braun, He certainly wouldn't comment publicly confirming or denying Braun's guilt, or even that he had any dealings of any kind with Braun or his legal team at all. And just for the record, I don't care one way or the other as far as Braun's guilt or innocence. I just dislike the way this story has played out.
  18. Agreed. So if I'm a former employee being investigated by the federal government, all I need to do to raise money is print up a few documents and offer to sell them to the highest bidder. Players or MLB. Who cares if they are factual or not. It's not blackmail as long as they are not forcing anyone to pay. Does MLB or the players even know what is contained in the supposed documents before purchasing them? I would seriously question that.
