  1. For reference, he was 1-3 with a walk his last ‘debut’ after coming back from AAA. Certainly. However, I was more referring to the look of the AB. Less leg kick. Less uppercut. One game but positive results from prior Hiura.
  2. Hiura ABs today look much better than they did prior to him going down. That is promising.
  3. I think the 1B hole has become rather large at this point and filling it correctly could be the difference between a deep playoff run and potentially missing the playoffs. For the right player, I would be willing to part with a Turang level prospect. Not sure who that player is but I would have to think the Brewers would be willing to go high as Antoine Kelly for a Aguilar, Moran or Bell. I’d agree with it too.
  4. With Vogelbach hurt and Hiura not ready, have to imagine Stearns is calling around tonight to find a 1B. Aguilar is the first that comes to mind but who else?
  5. Looked like a knee more so than anything to this untrained eye. Stearns is certainly on the phone now. Hiura isn’t ready and Peterson is not an everyday player.
  6. I know this team is 17-7 in its last 24 but they are absolutely a wreck. They’re not winning the division or sniffing the playoffs if they don’t fix this putrid offense. Counsell is working miracles right now.
  7. I know Big Dan has been playing much better recently, but it still is surprising to me that Jesus Aguilar has not been re-acquired yet. I don't know about anyone else but Jesus coming back just feels inevitable. That bat and personality would be an amazing addition and not just because he is a former Brewer. He'd truly be a difference maker in my opinion.
  8. I would rather have Hernan Perez or make a trade for Jacob Nottingham to play 1B than Jace Peterson.
  9. I would be into acquiring Moose. However, it would have to include money on the Reds end, as well as being a lesser type prospect. Moose is owed $34m in 2022 and 2023, and has a $4m buyout in 2024. 2 years, $38m...I would want $10m-$14m back and would be willing to send a prospect like Lutz or Joe Gray Jr. That would be about the extent of my interest.
  10. I would certainly be interested in dealing for McMahon. Young enough to fill a role for a few years and think the Rockies might be interested in dealing him for their next competitive window. Another interesting thing about his splits, his AVG/OBP spread at home is 32 points (.294/.326) whereas the spread on the road is 63 (.224/.287). Maybe a more aggressive approach on the road is needed for McMahon. I certainly wouldn't give up Mitchell, Ashby, or Small for him. However, with Adames and Urias in the fold, I might entertain a Turang deal if they were to include some pen help like Mychal Givens.
  11. I would rather have Robertson than Peterson and Lopes. Really comes down to him and Reyes and I think I prefer Robertson, ever so slightly, but not enough to care.
  12. Problem is Wong and Shaw are hurt and Hiura was ineffective. When healthy and producing, an IF of Hiura, Wong, Adames, Shaw with Urias and Vogelbach as backups is good. Robertson is probably adequate as the 26th man but Reyes, Peterson and Lopes have no business on the roster.
  13. I just cannot stand Peterson. Praying for a walk every AB. Bring up Perez. At least he can swing it a little. Jace is my new Yuni B.
  14. A healthy Brewers team has Wong, Adames, Urias, Shaw, Robertson, Reyes ahead of Peterson. Dare I say that Hernan should be ahead of him as well. He's literally the 8th best option for 3B, SS and 2B.
  15. Generally, Portland is the consensus next best spot in the west. Gives a regional rival to the Mariners and would allow for easier realignment whenever it comes. One other city that I think might make some sense is Salt Lake City. There is significant passion in the NBA for the Jazz, and while the economics surely aren't the same in MLB/NBA, I think a similar level of passion could be had for a MLB team. Regardless, those three cities are really the only options that truly make sense in order to provide greater regional reach at this point. MLB is a barren waste land in the triangle that extends from Denver to Phoenix to Seattle.
  16. Agreed. He looked ok. He's definitely not a world beater but he fits the 5th-6th inning mold of Suter and Richards better than Yardley. At this point, a pen of Hader (9th)-Williams (8th)-Boxberger (7th)-Suter-Richards-Strickland (5th-6th) is certainly solid.
  17. I’m being facetious, but as mentioned in the Donaldson thread, Minnesota has no reason to trade him but for the fact they haven’t played well as a team this year. Donaldson is still productive, plays a premium position and is the only big multi year contract the Twins have. Like every player in MLB, I’m sure he’s available at the right price, but Minnesota probably isn’t motivated to move him because of the above, so that price would then be sky high as a result. Totally understand you were being facetious. My larger point is that he certainly has to be available. Twins are 24-37 and 13 games out of first and 11 games out of the Wild Card. If they don't make a move in the next 10 days, I would assume the sell off would begin. While Donaldson is still productive and plays a premium position as you indicate, they have aren't currently set up for long term success with older vets like Donaldson, Cruz, Pineda, Simmons, Happ, Shoemaker, and Colome comprising a good portion of their roster. Sure they have Buxton, Kepler, Kirilloff, but a soft reboot might be a smarter play than keeping the band together.
  18. I’m sure they’d trade him for Peralta or Burnes. Man their opinion of Donaldson is a lot higher than mine
  19. With Shaw out indefinitely and Wong out for a few more weeks, I hope Stearns is at least reaching out to Minnesota to see what it would actually take for Donaldson.
  20. Meh. Tough break for Shaw bit he is not really a loss for the Brewers at this point in his career. Uh...when your next best option is a Daniel Robertson/Jace Peterson platoon until Wong comes back and Urias can play 3B. Peterson as a strong side of a platoon is a lot worse than Shaw.
  21. Might be the highest selling jersey in the history of professional sports.
