  1. You and I have different definitions of well stocked. Phillips still has strike out problems and was barely above average in the majors offensively last year despite a .400+ BABIP, which isn't going to happen again. Lutz was in rookie ball last year. Ray hasn't hit since he was drafted. I don't think Dubon is a very good prospect at all. Utility guy for me. Medeiros and Bickford are relievers for me. Pennington is so far away that I'm not counting on him for anything in the next three years. Ponce is a fly ball pitcher whose strikeout rate has fallen every year and is probably a reliever. Diplan walked over 5 per 9 innings last year. Peralta may end up being a reliever. Just naming a bunch of prospects doesn't really do anything. Like pretty much every team has guys like you just mentioned with the exception of Hiura, Harrison, Woodruff and Phillips. According to Baseball Reference, Phillips was a 1.4 WAR player in 98 PA.
  2. Question...on Twitter, are @BrewerWorld and @BrewerFarm reliable sources like HH19 appears to be? They seem to be reporting the same things HH19 is.
  3. Including Chen with Yelich makes no sense as it will limit the prospect haul. For Yelich alone the Brewers probably will include Brinson, Burnes and Diaz. For Yelich and Chen the Brewers probably offer Brinson and Ray tops. Chen stays in Miami unless they are able to move him for an Ellsbury or Matt Kemp contract.
  4. A deal for Yelich centered around Burnes and Harrison wouldn’t be the worst thing. Keep Brinson and deal Santana for SP. Go into 2018 with Braun-Yelich-Brinson/Phillips in the OF.
  5. I am going to guess Brinson, Ortiz and a super young stud like Lutz. Marlins are rebuilding, and trying to stack prospects at all levels. If this is it, don’t hang up the phone until it’s done.
  6. Sting would be Brinson and Burnes plus....say Diaz. Harrison would be a bit hard to swallow
  7. Well I guess I look at it as Santana would likely be dealt for pitching. For argument's sake, let's say it is for Danny Salazar. So the Brewers are trading Santana, Brinson, Ortiz and Diaz for Yelich and Salazar. At this point, and given the age and contract status of the players involved, I think the Brewers would be getting the two best players for the next 4-5 years in the deal. Yelich is better than Brinson and Santana. Salazar is probably Ortiz's ceiling as well. Ortiz is the SP prospect I would most like to deal and while losing Diaz would be tough, you have Dubon and then Hiura to potentially fill that void. Not to mention the (small) possibility of a Villar turnaround. I think the Brewers make this type of deal if this is what it costs.
  8. Ellsbury hasn't been good in years and Santana hit in the 280 with a 370 obp really can't expect too much more. Defense is his only issue. All the money these other guys cost could just be put towards pitching. Yelich's deal is so good that I see why you have to check on him but I strongly doubt you can pull off all the moves necessary for it work out. Which makes a trade of Santana to the AL, where he can DH, all the more likely. See Davis, K.
  9. Without knowing who is going, let's play a quick 2-6 lineup game: 2. Yelich 3. Braun 4. Shaw 5. Santana 6. Thames That is legit!
  10. Diversification of the offense. Yelich doesn't strike out as much. Has a consistently high average and high OBP. Brewers trying to cut down on the Ks that led to so many prolonged offensive slumps.
  11. Yelich in Miller Park could produce at a Braun in his prime level. Granted I don't see a 41 HR 2012 season, but I could definitely see Braun's average season of 2009-2011 (.318/.382 32 HR 115 RBI). Make this deal happen
  12. Without knowing the Marlins desires, I would start with Santana+Ortiz+Diaz. Would love to see an OF with Braun-Brinson/Phillips-Yelich at some point. I would also be comfortable with Adam's offer just don't want to lose Brinson if possible.
  13. McCalvy quoted it in a tweet of his own, for me that provides significantly more credibility. A trade for Yelich is one of my least desired off-season moves of the possiblities floated to this point. It is one of my most desired. Yelich is what I pray Brinson or Phillips will turn into, a .300, 25 HR, .375-.400 OBP player. It will likely take one of them, but if somehow the Brewers could have a trade centered around Santana for Yelich, I am all in.
  14. If Santana were dealt, I would be comfortable with a Braun-Brinson-Phillips OF with Broxton as the backup. Lots of Ks there though. Ellsbury, provided he comes with a Betances for the bullpen or a Top 100 prospect, for a nothing prospect would be fine as well.
  15. I am going to go with 6 years $160 from the Cubs
  16. To acquire Teheran I wouldn't offer much more than the current version of Corey Ray. I certainly wouldn't offer Santana for a guy who only has two years left of club control.
  17. HH19...really appreciate the information you have provided. While we are all dying for particulars, just a little spice to the offseason has been helpful. Thanks!
  18. I kind of wonder if Darvish might circle back around to the Brewers' offer if nothing else he likes better materializes? It wouldn't be the first time a deal played out like that. I would be surprised if the Brewers offer was within $10 million of $150 million. I have to imagine their best offer was 5 years $130-$135 and even that would be a welcome surprise.
  19. The level of cynicism from some is getting a little tired. We’re a small market. Deal with those realities or go root for a big market team that proves their FO is trying by actually signing albatross contracts like Heyward or Ellsbury.
  20. Speaking of this...
  21. Wasn't this guy Yu's personal catcher in Texas? Would be an interesting development if we all got our hopes up for Yu only to see him sign in Chicago.
  22. Honestly, I'm not seeing the smoke. The smoke is Crasnick's original tweet about the Brewers dealing an OF combined with High Heat's source saying the team is an AL team. Combined with Archer becoming available now after he was supposedly unavailable earlier this winter. I am purely speculating obviously but I definitely see smoke.
  23. https://www.draysbay.com/2018/1/22/16919670/mlb-trade-rumors-tampa-bay-rays-chris-archer Where there is smoke...is there is fire? Santana to Rays in a package for Archer?
  24. I think it makes sense of the entire offseason. Let's say for example TRADE A (HH's term) falls apart and it involves a 2B, the Brewers likely turnaround and sign Walker/Nunez. Similarly, if the trade involves an SP and it falls apart, the Brewers turnaround and sign Darvish/Arrieta/Cobb/Lynn. Honestly, the only guy that doesn't make sense to me was Moustakas given Shaw's presence. I just don't see the Brewers dealing Shaw in any scenario that doesn't include them overwhelmingly winning that deal.
