  1. After the Vuck, Ted Simmons, and Rollie Fingers trade...and the Yelich trade... and after the Gomez for Hader/Houser+....
  2. not really "one year contracts" but Avisail Garcia and Hunter Renfroe had nice 1 yr runs for the Crew as well.
  3. I apologize...I confused Jeffery Leonard with Jeffery Hammonds....
  4. Oh boy. This is gunna be fun. The whole "JefferyLeonard" handle keeps throwing me off. Like...you want MORE moves like that?
  5. I actually really like this one. DJs don't sing...
  6. If Frelick merely produces for the next 10 years like he has in his first week+ he will have a fine, fine career. So no need to develop, just don't regress... And Wiemer has been fine since June as well.
  7. Fangraphs had him at #17 in The Sox system BEFORE the season. Also, Turang is a lefty with elite defense....a completely different role than Urias. If the Brewers think Monasterio and/or Toro are just as good as Urias, well, it's an easy decision to offload him before non-tendering him. He wasn't going to help us this year anyway.
  8. Blalock and McKendry are interesting adds who both must be on the 40 man this winter or exposed to the rule 5 draft. Interesting, and a great strategy if the Brewers have spots on the 40 open enough to absorb them. Likely picked them up on the cheap.
  9. If they play out their control next year and let Burnes/Woody walk in FA, they will get draft picks, right? So by trading them they'd have to get something quite a bit better than a 1st round comp pick, since they'd also be losing out on Cy Young like production for a year. This thread is off the rails enough though.
  10. I disagree. I think it SEEMS that way, but I don't think there is much truth to it. But that's okay. You might be right.
  11. Instructionally, hover over the posters name, and an option button to ignore will pop-up.
  12. Yes. There is an ignore option. I never used it my first 20 years on BF, but I've used it multiple times the last 3 years.
  13. So you'd rather have wild swings between great teams with 2-3 year "championship window" and then extended down periods where your team is terrible for 8-10 years where they have no shot at even making the playoffs. I'd be okay with this if there was a guarantee that there would be a title during the window, but the odds are there won't be, and the odds are only marginally better during those years than the strategy of being conservatively good every year and making the playoffs almost every year. I like being in the hunt every September even if I don't have the BEST odds to be the best. Having sucky teams really sucks.
  14. LOL. Somehow I missed this. Great stuff...
  15. Weird thread/argument/discussion. The Brewers have scored 7 runs! SEVEN! And people want to say we need to score more to actually compete.
  16. Talent wise our lineup is similar...but output wise obviously those lineups were better down the stretch...but we CAN turn it around...
  17. Cards and Giants....5 time Champs from 2006-2014. Not nearly as bad as the Crew this year, but they weren't all-star lineups by any means either.
  18. Well, it worked for a few months, which isn't nothing...
  19. Nice pitches by Houser. Bad results.
  20. I watched the Giants and Cardinals from 2006-2015 win..5 Championships?...with a couple of WS losses? All the while the Brewers had one of the top lineups in the league...but we all (BF.com) lamented about how pitching and defense wins in the playoffs...
