  1. I think the Brewers steal one today get blown out tomorrow and Burnes shuts them down on Thursday to win the series.
  2. I thought Arnold lost the trade deadline?
  3. it's less about Frelick and more about getting other guys ABs for depth sake. If you want to put those guys in the best situations to succeed, then you find them ABs vs lefties...
  4. Count 'em (If '83 is "1" then 2023 is the 41st year after (which was my intention)...If '83 is "0" and '84 is "1" then 2023 is the 40th year after)
  5. '83 is 41 years ago... '08 and '18 had mediocre to bad pitching staffs (and obviously '23 has a bad offense but that can change quickly....and it's easier to get lucky with a bad offense than a bad run prevention unit)
  6. In the last 40 years, Name 4 Brewers teams better than this one at the date of August 7th in that season...
  7. Too bad we scored so many runs tonight we didn't need them.
  8. Wilson hasn't pitched in a few days...can't say I like seeing both Peguero and Chafin tonight.
  9. This is like double secret sarcasm here.
  10. Interesting move with Peguero here...Chafin and/or Uribe must have passed him up in the pecking order.
  11. Might as well send Freddy out for the 8th...
  12. you guys really need to be more creative...
  13. I thought it was optimist night for you? It's worked great for 6 innings so why stop now?
  14. It would be nice to get another inning from Freddy and then have Wilson and/or Chafin finish it up.
  15. I'm okay with using your best in the 9th at home, just to ensure that he gets in the game and you are doing you best to extend the game. However, when on the road and pitching the bottom of the 9th, you already know that best case scenario you'll have to pitch the bottom of the 10th as well, so I'd use somebody else to start the bottom of the 9th and bring on DWill if guys get on base early in the inning, but hopefully save him for the 10th.
  16. He may very well perform like those guys...but his trade value right now is nil.
  17. This is nice to hear....The O-line was already pretty set, and deep enough, but if he turns out to be a contributor all the merrier. On a side note, it's funny to me how quickly a guy like Zach Tom CLEARLY leap-frogged a guy like Sean Rhyan last year, and how frequently stuff like that happens (to be fair injuries are often a large part of things like that, but to my knowledge Rhyan was healthy all of last year).
  18. Kinda sad to see...a lot of former top 30 guys on this list, although 3 years ago the top 30 was kind of something to sneeze at, so whatever.
  19. Hiura was already exposed to waivers and got thru... nobody could give him a spot on their 26 man roster for free, so why the Crew would be asking more than bag of balls for him is beyond me (unless they target him for a September call-up and think he might outperform guys enough to have a DH role in the playoffs...maybe?...Hopefully?). Tyrone Taylor is next for this DFA experiment. Blake Perkins has TWO options left after this year and is a switch hitter which makes TT a non-tendered goner. Abraham Toro probably as well. I'm surprised they weren't somehow packaged with Luis Urias in order get another lottery ticket or two...
  20. Maybe...but clearly the coaching staff saw something they really didn't like this year and preferred other options (AM, AT, OM) to Luis. Depth is nice to have, but not THAT much depth and he was on the bottom of the totem pole.
  21. You weren't an ardent fan at that time then...in retrospect your comments make sense from an outsider...but good lord...27 years or whatever without even a playoff experience is hard to go through...
  22. JJ Hardy might be the most valuable player in the history of the Brewers franchise when its all said and done...
  23. Oh, and "just because"...the Gomez trade was only possible because of the JJ Hardy trade....
