  1. This is the most college-heavy draft I've seen for the Brewers. Only one pick was out of HS.
  2. While initially I wasn't thrilled about Ray, the only guys I wanted over him were Pint, Groome, and Lewis. Pint got picked before the Brewers, Groome's agent is Scott Boras (I may have a mildly irrational dislike for Boras), and there seem to be some folks who have questions about Lewis.
  3. Bummer. IIRC somebody did mention that waiting for the high-ceiling guys to fall was a risky proposition. All these high-ceiling guys getting nabbed left and right.
  4. All the salt in this thread will last me a lifetime of meals.
  5. And down goes Joey Wentz. Wentz to the Braves.
  6. Hudson to the Cards. So much for him being a 2nd round pick.
  7. While I'm not excited, Ray Montgomery is a highly touted scouting director. For the time being I'm gonna trust his decision.
  8. I'm curious as to why people think Rutherford would be a good pick at 5. I know he's a solid prospect, but why is he a good pick at 5?
  9. Seems like Pint will be nabbed just before the Brewers' pick.
  10. Yet Corey Ray continues to appear in mocks. I honestly don't know what's gonna happen.
  11. Wow. That's going to kill Perez. I guess the next question is 'what kind of drug test' did he fail. If it's smoking pot, teams might be willing to forgive and forget. If it's PEDs, that's gotta scare people. I guess that depends on the kind of PED. There are so many. Even with pot I think teams will be hesitant. Wasn't there already concerns about his maturity?
  12. Free agency isn't the only way to acquire a top of the line pitcher. It's difficult in other methods as well. Teams covet top-tier pitching prospects and the Brewers will have to give up a boatload just to get one. With the international FA's they may be hogged by other teams, not to mention that they're also incredibly volatile.
  13. Groome and Pint have higher ceilings and I'm not as enamored with floor.
  14. I'm pretty skeptical whenever someone claims stuff like this. The Brewers have been generally very good at keeping draft strategies to themselves.
  15. Because? 3 top players I'd like to see Milwaukee draft one of are all there. Pint/Groome can just turn out like a draft with Scherzer and Kershaw. Both frontline starters/Aces. Win/win regardless the choice. Because Pint is a distant 3rd on who I would pick in that spot. 1. Groome 2. Perez 3. Pint ... Still doesn't address the reason why you don't like him.
  16. I have a feeling that the Brewers are going to draft someone none of us anticipated.
  17. Robles definitely seems like the kind of guy Stearns would look for.
