  1. Lucroy was one of our best players last year, even though he missed time, so we need to do whatever is best to keep his healthy bat in the lineup as much as possible. I'm not sure if a 4/1 or 3/2 split would be best for that, or maybe they could give Lucroy off on Sundays and Wednesdays or something. I think people here overrate Maldanado's trade value. His minor league numbers aren't that strong, and most teams wouldn't look at him as a target for their catcher of the future. I can't really imagine a trade for him that would improve this team for 2013, or make a significant contribution to our farm at this point in time.
  2. With Gorzelanny and Gonzalez on the team, and the rotation pretty much set, I think we will see Narveson get DFAd sometime in the near future.
  3. Some of the relievers left: Matt Lindstrom Jon Rauch Brandon Lyon JP Howell Kyle Farnsworth Vicente Padilla Rauch probably makes the most sense to me, though I would definitely pick Lyon. Lindstrom would be good too.
  4. We really need to fill out our bullpen. If we don't, it might even eat into our starting pitching depth if we decide we need Thornburg or Narveson or Peralta in the bullpen.
  5. Aoki is a solid player out producing his contract. If he was blocking a top prospect, I would try to move him. As is, whatever we would pay in dollars or trade ammo to upgrade over Aoki would not be well spent. I'd rather use it on pitchers, starter or reliever. I'll be happy to have a solid OBP and steals OF hitting at the top of the order next year who also plays pretty good defense for cheap. I disagree that he isn't a difference maker. Those 7+ pitch ABs followed by a walk or single can really change an inning.
  6. I'd rather center the deal around Gamel. That would probably net us less back in return, but so be it.
  7. I wouldn't put too much stock into moving out of the AL East. Those New York and Boston offenses were not that good last year, and because he is a reliever, he won't get the benefit of the pitcher hitting 9th anyway. If anything, his job is going to be harder here I think because of lesser quality infield defense and our manager not using him as well as Tampa Bay would. Actually I'm not really convinced he's any better than Loe to be honest.
  8. Ken Rosenthal: #Rangers most aggressive team on Hamilton, according to source. Would ease sting of losing Napoli. #Brewers on periphery with Hamilton.
  9. Not crazy about it, hopefully we have at least 2-3 relievers on the opening day roster that are better
  10. If they had to, couldn't they just move Hanson to the bullpen and have everything Walden is anyway?
  11. His numbers are really outstanding. If you subtract 2011 when he was obviously pitching hurt, it's 4 years of lights out pitching.
  12. It looks like the Reds are interested in Soria. I hope he doesn't enter our division. These guys are getting a decent amount of interest, so I think the only way to entice them to come to Milwaukee would be to demote Axford (not something I would support).
  13. Would you take a chance on either of these guys? Stats: Fangraphs Ryan Madson: 32 years old $11M mutual option, $2.5M buy-out Madson had Tommy John surgery on March 24. http://i.imgur.com/Qg4Ax.jpg Joakim Soria: 29 years old Soria had his second Tommy John surgery on April 13. He threw a baseball for the first time on 10/3. Kansas City Star: http://i.imgur.com/Yekif.jpg
  14. When it comes down to it, I think Id take Segura, Bianchi and a pitcher over Gonzalez and Segura.
  15. EE was having a lot of trouble learning to play 3B Then he had some injury shortened seasons Then he played through injuries (last year) Now he's DH/1B, healthy, starting every day, and 29 years old, a good age for power hitters Edit: the Mat Gamel story, 2014?
  16. I wouldnt be against a 3/2 split between Lucroy and Maldonado
  17. Would we get a comp pick for Wolf?
  18. Was it arm problems? Because I thought he had talent
  19. Latos has been awful so far. Especially With runners on. We should get some base runners (that will probably be Narron's advice).
