  1. This is why Casey can not be allowed to hit 5th in the playoffs
  2. Not splits related, but 2 things I've never seen anyone do as much as Casey has this year: take pitches right down the middle and argue/disagree with obvious called strikes
  3. about that Corey Hart throw, Lucroy was standing so far out of the play they might as well have not even tried throwing home
  4. this is a very frustrating game for many reasons
  5. If the pitcher wants to work around the 8th hitter, wouldn't that suggest not giving him anything to hit so he walks? Unless of course you're talking about that happening and Yuni still swinging at garbage pitches. That is exactly what I'm talking about. Yuni will definitely swing at those garbage pitches.
  6. I dunno, whatever he does just make it something memorable. The memory/story of getting called up shouldn't just be "I got a letter in the mail" or whatever.
  7. This is probably the exact lineup I would have written today, assuming Green can play 2B and Hairston is unavailable I don't like Yuni bating 8th like some suggest. If it comes up where a pitcher wants to work around the 8 hitter to get to the pitcher, I would rather have anyone than Yuni at the plate, including some pitchers. Have to bat Yuni 7th.
  8. Westbrook is pitching well, but can we stop swinging at stuff around the ankles? Half the team is doing it. They must not have been prepared for a change up today.
  9. If you saw Zack at the grocery store, what do you think you would do, really? Just curious I did see Rickie Weeks driving around Milwaukee once and I didn't do anything. I thought about yelling "hey Rickie!" or something like that but I didn't know if he would get annoyed or not.
  10. Please please please someone go take that pocket knife and baseball away from Marcum
  11. The thing is, it's not a bad time for a wake up call. If we slump now, anyone coasting will probably wake up. When they went on that winning streak, it was right after they dropped to 3rd in the standings. I just wish it wasn't against the team I hate more than any. Last year, San Francisco had to play every game. Philly and New York had it locked up early.
  12. [quote author=danzig6767 wrote: [/b] As for Braddock, is he still dealing with that sleep disorder? A week or 2 ago they said he is done for the year. Better hope Narveson can pitch out of the bullpen.
  13. Any guesses as to the percentage of a first round draft pick pitcher (Bradley, Jungmann) pitches in the bigs? Percentage that he becomes a solid starter?
  14. I hope all the bad karma in the baseball world goes to Albert Pujols. Dislike has gone to vehement hate. Plenty of players do crappy things to fans, and it's almost always provoked, Pujols is just a ****.
  15. I still can't see a team as bad as we are on the left side of the infield making a deep postseason run, but hopefully they prove me wrong. A plus defensive SS would of been extremely beneficial to this team. Was there even a plus defensive SS on the market besides Furcal? Glad we passed on him.
  16. Just realized that the Brewers are playing 27+ innings in less than 24 hours
  17. I am also curious. I haven't found any news except the occasional mention that he is on the inactive list (which I read today). OT, but I haven't heard anything about Parra either. On the bright side, we will have a lefty in the pen with Narveson for the playoffs. My only concern about that is Narveson sometimes gets lit up by the first couple batters he faces until he gets loose/comfortable/warmed up. Not a quality you want in a reliever.
  18. 8th/9th inning and close game, I am more surprised if he gets out than when he does something positive. HBP, BB, hit, hell even strike out and wild pitch, he just finds a way.
  19. Apparently Hanrahan and the Pirates setup guy are both unavailable. That could be a big advantage in a double header.
  20. 5 Ks of the first 10 batters. They have looked mostly terrible so far.
