  1. Can anyone clear this up, because I've heard both of these statements from multiple sources and they contradict each other completely: The Mets are getting a guy who has played in the big leagues for us The Mets are not getting a guy who is on the 40 man roster
  2. Well we are giving the Mets a list of players to pick from so the Mets will probably wait as long as possible to get a long look at the guys they are considering picking. I've also heard rumors that the list isn't even completed yet - in addition to about a thousand other rumors. It's funny, Brewers fans all say there is no way there is a top 10 prospect involved and Mets fans all say Thornburg or Gamel or Green is involved. I think it ends up being a bottom of the roster reliever (Kintzler, Parra, Stetter, DiFelice) and a throw in prospect from A or AA. Still not 100% on the 40 man roster thing though either, which would eliminate most of those guys.
  3. He's on my fantasy team too, and if the Brewers let him close and cripple their payroll next year, I'll be mad as all hell
  4. I like their offense a lot better and our pitching a lot better. NL pitcher will probably be better than the AL pitcher at every point in the game. Unfortunately pretty much every slice of the NL lineup is worse than the AL counterpart (Scott Rolen are you serious?).
  5. What I think they should do is separate the lefties and separate Greinke and Gallardo since they have similar styles. I would do this: Greinke Marcum Wolf Gallardo Narveson
  6. Yeah this is the worst one I remember. Welcome to drug testing
  7. Joey Bats is definitely the sucker bet there. Don't know how Prince and Ortiz aren't the clear front runners.
  8. Sounds like a smart bet. You probably won't win but worth the risk. I would throw $5-$10 on that in a heartbeat.
  9. This I don't like. Need a sac fly to win or a speedy guy that won't get doubled up so you use Counsell?
  10. Nyjer Morgan over 99% of the rest of the players in the MLB if it's the 8th or 9th inning and a close game
  11. Another reason Betancourt is so terrible: He is the worst hitter at making a pitcher work (July 10, 2011) (fixed formatting --1992)
  12. If we can afford to add 1 player, it has to be a short stop. We at least have options in house to try at 3B, bullpen, bench bats. That or we really need to add a LOOGY like the Mitre trade but for a LHP, that should be very doable.
  13. What if somebody messed with the robot's page? It would probably explode. random: you can go to any Wiki page, click the first word in the article after the parenthesis, keep doing this, and end up at Philosophy every time
  14. According to Fangraphs 6th worst in WAR (wins above replacement)5th worst in fielding (worst short stop)4th worst in wOBA3rd worst in OBP9th worst in OPS7th worst in O-swing% (swinging at balls outside of the strike zone) in all of baseball Relative to his peers, short stops that play most of the time,he combines the worst fielding skills...with the 2nd worst offensive skills (per wOBA, also he is in second by all of .001)...and the 5th worst speed rating. He actually does rank decent in base running, but I don't see how since he has 2 steals and was caught stealing 2 times.
  15. I wish Yuniesky just brought 'nothing' to the team. He's currently at -0.7 WAR. Josh Wilson is probably replacement caliber, same with Counsell, so if Betancourt simply stopped showing up to the ball park we would be better.
  16. He needs to talk louder, slower, and develop some chemistry with his partner. The content of what he says is top notch, but his delivery is awful right now.
  17. Given whats available this is a pretty solid line up choice. I'd rather have Lucroy in there but that probably isn't an option, and maybe move Kottaras somewhere besides 8th but against a lefty it's fine.
  18. What difference does it make? As long as there is no dp Kottaras doesn't matter
  19. I always thought it was just slightly above average in the hitters favor because all the distances are pretty much middle of the road but most days the ball carries a little better than an extremely hot and humid environment. Day games used to be extremely pitcher friendly because of the shadows, but they seem to have eliminated that this year.
  20. What I learned about Corey Hart when I went to the game on the 4th is he is probably the biggest jerk on the team. He struck out 3 times to end innings and every time he spiked his helmet, dropped his bat, turned away and walked slowly towards right field. I almost never see guys do this. Most of them will hand their stuff to the bat boy or at least toss it over - Hart doesn't even acknowledge that he exists. He does this every single time.
